Tee Time Golf

Being in Phoenix, I almost have to be a golf fanatic. I try and pley at least every other week.

In my Bag:

Cleveland Hybore 460 driver
Calloway 4 wood
Muzono 20 deg Hybrid
2-pw Ping Rapture Irons
52,56,60 Ping Tour series wedges
Ping G5 48" putter

Balls,

Calloway HX Tour

and Just for fun:
Bushnell Pinseeker Rangefinder wit slope differential.
and of cours the Ciger minder!

How do you like that rangefinder with slope?

I'd like to get one of those, but my car payment seems to keep taking priority.

i LOVE IT. iT IS ACTUALY VERY ACCURATE. i USE IT ALL OVER THE COURSE. eVEN TEEING OFF i PICK MY SPOT WHERE i WANT TO GO, FIND A POINT CLOSE TO IT i CAN HIT WITH THE RANGEFINDER AND SELECT MY CLUB FROM THERE. iT IS REALY QUICK, DOES NOT SLOW PLAY DOWN AT ALL.

What's in my bag? 2007 edition

Made some upgrades to my bag since '06:

Taylormade R7 460cc driver (configured weights for draw)
Callaway X-hot 3-wood
Callaway Big Bertha Titanium 7-wood
Callaway X 4-hybrid
Callaway Big Bertha '06 irons: 5-PW (graphite shaft)
F2 (Face Forward) wedge: 52 degree, 56 degree
Putter: Carbite ZG mallot (must over 15 years old, and a hand-me-down from a friend). Hoping to upgrade to an Odyssey White Hot XG 2-ball SRT.

Ball: currently using Precept Laddie Extreme. But will also use Callaway HX Tour 56 (free 2-ball sleeves), Nike Power Distance - Power Soft (free box), Callaway Big Bertha (free 3-ball sleeves), and still waiting to get better so I can open up my Titleist Pro V1 box (another freebie). I also have sleeves of HX Tour, but don't plan on using it anytime soon. If you're wondering how I get these for free, I just go to the demo days for the sleeves, and I get the boxes free (sometimes) at the driving range (from the assistant GM).

Wow, I wish I had time to go to all those demo days. I was proud of myself saturday. Pulled out 1 ball from my bag, and never had to reach fo another one.

I try to never reach into MY bag for another ball. But my golf mates don't like it when I go into theirs.

I'm too inconsistent and new to the game. I'm lucky if I lose only 3 balls. The most I ever lost was 10 balls in 1 round. That's why I try my very best to get as many free sleeves as possible. Golf balls are getting to be a tad expensive with the way I play.'

Speaking of golf balls, has anyone tried the new Top-Flite D2 balls? Does the dimple-in-dimple design really affect your ball flight?

I have been playing for several years. There are some good days, but beleive me there are more bad. All I can say is a bad day of golf is better than a good day at work!!!

Squirrels

Don't you just hate it when them squirrels get to your bag and steal your snacks?

I was munching on an energy bar as I got to my ball near some trees. Saw a squirrel on the tree side and didn't think anything about it, except "oh how cute he is." Put my snack in my bag, and layed up. Got back to my bag only to see a shiny wrapper running up the tree. dang squirrel! Where's the marshall when you need one! :x

Thanks buddy - mine will be on the way in 6-8 weeks - by then the pond on hole #3 should be ready to receive them.

Good tip, T!

Anyone play this weekend. I played at a realy tough desert course. Ended up with an 87 but had to do some serious scrambling. Hit alot of balls out of the desert!

Nice round Craig! Next time out in Palm Desert I really have to rent clubs and try a desert course.

I am going up to the club on Friday - still too wet to play - but a good excuse to have a cigar.

There are some sweet courses in Palm Desert. Alot of fun. Nothing like target golf, can hurt alot, but when you hit a nice shot it sure feels good!

Hit my first bucket of the year today. Pretty good day, not too long but nice and straight. I was gased though by 3/4 of the way through my bucket.

Jim:

You coming back to Jersey for the summer or staying down in WV? If you head back up north, let me know. We'll set up a day of golf.

I would host a little golf outing if any mooks want to try and get together up her in Northwest Jersey (Actually just over the state line in Port Jervis!)

Kevin

I'll be making my glorious return to NJ on June 9. I'm definitely in for some golfing.

Roland would make a good caddy. I bet he can handle the 2 bags and drag a cooler behind him.
