Tee Time Golf

I'm gonna have to assume that you are mistaking me with Phil Simms.

Okay, silly nonsense Kelvin factoid - the founder of GEICO was a fraternity brother of mine (although he graduated many years before me - and I did graduate in 4 years so let's stop that crap right now).

Which 4 years?

It's time for another major. Any guesses as who will win? This has been such a crazy year it's almost imposible to predict.

You might as well try and pick a winner for Le Tour, cause all the predictions are out the window, and its only the 9th stage.

Their website does not indicate the winners birthplace, so it is very hard to tell if a Canadian has won in the past.

That said, my Euros would be on our brother, and my fellow Canadian, Don.

Thank you gentlemen, but I think the rules committee for the Open would get a little upset when I used my footwedge to get the ball back to the fairway. I had a stellar day yesterday driving the ball hit every fairway, but wouldn't you know it my putter decided not to work, damm. One of my cigar smoking golfing buddies got a hole in one Monday, that leaves me as the only guy in our group not to have one and I have golfed for 40+ years..

Last night it was 3-club night in league play. We ended up 2 under best ball and took second place. It was actually a fun way to play.

And Don - I pay the insurance to cover it at the club - but I have never had a hole-in-one either (except for a mulligan hole-in-one but of course that didn't count!)

I have never even seen a hole in one except on TV. I and some friends have come very close, but never in the hole. Congrats to your buddy, I hope he at least bought the beer after the round!!! What is 3-club night (driver,7iron,putter)?

Three club night is whatever 3 that you want - I went with 5 wood, 9 iron, putter. My philosophy was that I wanted to be able to play the short game as best as possible - one of the guys we played against didn't bring a better and it killed him.

Those look like good selection of clubs, 5 wood is pretty easy to keep in the fairway, also can be used on the fairway. Congrats on doing so well.

We have a two club tournament every year. I always go with a 9 iron and a three wood (use the 3 wood to putt with). It is interesting that everyone usually shoots pretty close to their normal scores.

That was the interesting thing, Don. The scores were only a couple of strokes higher than normal Best Ball play. Normally the low score with handicaps is 29-31. Here it was 32 - 34.

as long as your footwedge was one of the 14 clubs, what's the problem? :D

So what is the over/under when Sergio chokes?

:rotflmao:

I guess that question was answered! I feel bad for Garcia, but it was good that Harrington is not going to have to go into therapy for choking like he did. What a great round to watch! My wife even got into it and she hates golf!

Was definatley fun to watch. It's not often you see two people trying to give away a tournament.
