Welcome Everyone.....Glad to have more around!!

See you on the boards....

Hello to all, been a casual cigar smoker for over 20 years and smoked a Macunado Gold Label this past weekend that was so smooth and mild I was amazed. I am not really sure which it was because I don't have much knowledge of cigars. I have been to this site a few times but never looked at the message boards. I will tell you it's nice to see alot of good things said about our great country. As for myself, I am married with 2 kids, one of them is home grown the other I triing to adopt my foster child. I am disabled due to a bad back and kidney transplant but happy to be alive.

Regards

Welcome Jalc!

If you hang around here long enough, you won't be able to say you don't know much about cigars!!

Welcome Jalc,

My friend, I know exactly what you mean about being happy to be alive - I'm not sure how I managed it, but I have and I'm happy as can be!

Look forward to your posts on our board! 8)

Ya know, I don't think I posted to this thread.
Dave here, Brother to Ravyn. My handle comes from many years back, don't ask. Something about me and knives!
I'll hit my 45th year on earth here shortly. Haven't seen near enough of it! I got a wonderful family, beautiful wife and nine year old son. I live out of Southwestern PA, good fishin, good huntin, good people. I'sell steel for a living, go figure living around Pittsburgh. I watched the steel mills disappear, made the river and sky alot nicer!
Have been in and out of cigars for many years, really enjoying them now.
I hope I can only pay back a fraction of the info I've gleaned from you guys.
Thanks

Greetings,
My name is Steve, I’m a rookie smoker, someone handed me a Padron Anniversary series 26 maduro and I got hooked. Problem is, I like the med/full bodied sticks and this habit is putting me in the poor house and the econo smokes don’t seem to get it, I need help, suggestions please.

starting with a 26 will do that to you, haha.
welcome start a new thread and you will get plenty of answers for your problem

lets see.......
I'm 20 and have been smoking for 3 years. i started with swisher sweets and grenaders <cringe>, but eventually worked my way into the premiums. since i dont have a lot of money its hard to get experience, and to know what good cigars are. my current favorite is the punch rare corojo rothschild, but my every day cigar is the m1 by cusano. i'm a full time student in minnesota, and would love nothing more than to get a job at a cigar shop. hopefully i cant start to really learn about this new hobby and take my smoking enjoyment to a whole new level.

Welcome!!!! Where in Minnesota do you live? Tobacco Grove has a new store in Burnsville, maybe they need help.

Thought I should jump in and introduce myself as well. Born and raised in Denver (Lakewood), CO. Lived in Roanoke, VA for a few years. Off to Penn State, then bounced around New Jersey for a bit till I landed in Pittsburgh, PA.

Just got a house, trying to get the wife into shooting, and I'm looking to get my own humidor soon - just need to get a bit more knowledgeable first. I'm reading the numerous posts on this right now (any specific recommendations are welcome though)

I've tried a few different sticks so far, but not many that I'd call 'excellent'. So far, I've found the Puros Indios to be a reasonably priced 'any-time' smoke and I like several of the La Gloria Cubana - especially on the porch with a cool breeze a nice scotch - Glen Morangie or Macallan usually.

Going to join in the box pass (hopefully) so I can try a few other cigars - it's hard to pick when you're standing in the cigar shop - too many choices!

i live in minnetonka, but will be going to school in winona. i need a job so i can continue smoking while i go to school. its really hard to budget cigars when im paying for college too!

Welcome! I'm relatively new too and have already gained so much from this forum. Its a great place and I hope you all continue posting here.

Deviousterran

I graduated from college with a Fiction Writing degree....I was at a party when I heard there was another guy who smoked cigars, I found him, gave him a cigar and we talked the entire night about cigars....

I saw him again at the same party, and this time we talked about the politics of cigars, and more, for hours....at the end of the night he handed me his card and told me to call him, he was CEO cigar.com! I was looking into grad school, looking for a part time job and this surprisingly came along!!

So you never know...you may end up in the industry without it being intentional!! It's a greast industry!!

Hey Cybrus

Rayvn and me are west of the city past the airport. We shoot at Greater Pitt Gun Club on occasion and I belong to Beaver Valley Rifle/Pistol.
Maybe we'll run into eachother sometime.
Good choices on the single malt. The LGC is a good smoke too. Try the series R for a little more juice.
Just like me, in search of the good cheap smoke!

On the humidor, Get one that's big enough for you. I never thought I would need the size I have (150 desk top). Get a digital hygrometer with the humidor and don't pay any attention to the analog.
Good seal and thick walls.
Removalble shelves and dividers make it really nice.

Good Luck

Thanks Razor! I'm going to be getting a good humidor soon (this year at least), but for short-term storage I picked up a basic travel one.
