Vince, it is still cold, but a warmer cold. You have to stop believing what you listen to on Faux news, or at least stop espousing what you hear. It seems that it's always the right wingers that run their mouth in public and think the people staring at them actually agree with them.

Good morning it is Sunday 3/30/14 a SNOW covered morning here in da Burgh we got what I hope will be the LAST of the snow for this season it was raining when I went to bed , but the temp dropped & it switched over to snow & now there is about an inch covering everything in the area, welcome to Pittsburgh , where you get all four seasons in the same day, run the furnace at night & the A/C in the day , My wife just went out to turn on the heat in the Qtr.Deck & it was 35F inside & 31F outside , not much sun out as the sky is 100% overcast, not a bit of blue to be seen., with the rain last night & the dropping temps there is a lot of ICE on the roads & walkways ...... the weather man tells us it will be in the lower 40's some time today but for how long ? I have had enough of the winter of 13/14 ENOUGH ALL READY ..... I asked the wife about Moving south & she had a list of anti moving a mile long so I think I am here for the next few winters, as she told me I can go when ever I want to , but she is staying here...... Hummmmmmm not a bad idea hahahaha ,,,,, But I would need the proceeds of the sale of the house to buy a new place so I guess I will be here freezing my handle bars off ..... at lest I have a good heater in the Qtr. Deck ,,, an ample supply of cigars, coffee & scotch...... as long as the power is on I am good to go , we did have a small power outage last night but it happened when we were out for our Saturday night trip to CHARBUCKS to get her a cup of cash flavored coffee , cappachino, frapachino, latte, machaiddo, dammmm what ever happened to a CUP OF COFFEE ? well I get a double espresso & she gets the flavor of the day or something with whipped cream on top & 7 or 8 bucks later we get out of the place ,,,, Coffee, just a cup of JOE & I remember back when it was 10 cents & the refills were free, YES I AM OLD !!!! gas was 25 cents a gallon back then also ......... & it seams like I had money in my pocket back then..... now I have about the same amount of cash on me as I did back then........ but today I cant Buy what I could but 50 years ago ..... Inflation or what ever ,,,,, back the 1950,s an ounce of gold was 35 bucks & you could get a nice custom made suit for 35 Bucks , to day that same suit is about 1200 bucks & so is that ounce of gold........ & before you jump on me & tell me the gold is 1400 or more, I didn't check the paper to see the price this morning , its just a Guess...... but the point is the same no matter what the price of gold is .....
I had planned on heating up the grill & drop a few Rib steaks on it But I don't want to clean the snow off of the grill to get it hot, so the steaks are in the marinade & will be done in the broiler , along with some spuds & braised cabbage ,,,,, look out for the gas later tonight ...... ,,,, the root veggies & cabbages are a great way to get the wife to open the windows & air out the place ........ she see's no humor in it BUT dammmmm its a Gassss for me hahahaha
I found a package of shredded Zuccuini in the freezer this morning when I was getting out the steaks & thought about pancakes so I made the Zukes into pancakes with some carrots, onions & bell peppers all chopped up fine, a few spoons of flour , some eggs & a splash of cream, a batter ws born, & we had a different breakfast for a change, the cakes were cooked in the bacon fat & sucked it up like a sponge ,,,,,, bacon flavor to the max....... Coffee this morning was a Malabar coffee from India , & of course there is a press pot of Kona waiting for the Don Carlos #3 ,,, I have a nice looking Partagas series D #4 waiting in the wings , & what I get into after that is still up in the air, depends on the traffic I get today , if no one shows up & I am all alone with my thoughts , cigars & coffee I might dig out a BIG OLD Doubbbbble corona , or it might be an other ISOM of some sort , or it might be a yard gar ....... it just depends on my mood & what humidor I grab .... dammm I might even get out a pipe for a change.........
I haven't been fallowing the NCAA basket ball thing , But I have Michigan state in the pool. I have no idea if they are still in it , hey for a few bucks to win a few more , & since its all in fun & the winner will be buying cigars for everyone I cant loose hahahahaha ,,,, even if I win the pool the cash will end up in the regester no matter who wins hahahaha

I took the grandson out for 2 hours driving last Monday , we were on all types of roads from single lane dirt roads all the way to the 6 lane super slabs ... he was worn out when we got home ........... maybe we can do it again Monday ,,,, if the snow is gone ...... he is a better driver than his older brother, he pays attention to the road & isn't looking at the sights & stays in his own lane & stays in the limits of speed & fallowing the car in front him..... the phone is OFF & the music is low & just there for background , NOT blasting loud .... we are expecting the grandson who is in South America home the end of May , I bet he hates to leave there , he missed one of the worst winters I can remember & I have been though a lot of BAD WINTERS , being a few hundred miles for the Equator he never seen snow there ....

We ran a special on Torano cigars Friday night at the shop , Buy any 3 Torano cigars & get the 4th Free ,,,,, only 2 people bought them.... I have no idea why it didn't move , just the night that everyone wanted some thing different .... so be it , I have no idea what to put on special next Friday , ,,,, maybe put the entire store on special buy any 4 cigars & the lowest priced one will be free..... maybe I should move that up to 5 cigars as I know some of the cheep bastards will grab a Padron Anniv. & 4 bundle sticks & there is no Big markup on them ,,, I keep the price low In hopes to sell more of them,,,,, some time it works, some time it just sits on the shelf.... ,,,, I had some cigars that were 5 bucks a stick , put them on Special 3 cigars for 20 Bucs & sold them out that night ..... Go figure .......

I just looked out the window ,,,,, its raining & the snow is melting , , like I said 4 seasons in the same day ..... welcome to the BURGH. .......
Time for me to get my Sunday started, DC#3 , & Kona up next & a weee dram of Brundahabaine after the steaks later today , Enjoy, Vince

Rainy here for 2 days and it's definitely mud season. Sorry about you Michigan State pick, our guys knocked them out today. Spring is coming and when it does the store will be bustling with cigar hungry customers. Depending on several factors, I may be coming your way some time this month or next on a job and if so, you will have a couple of customers.

Welcome to the Zoo drino

Good Morning it is Sunday 4/6/14 a cool sunny day here in da Burgh

This has been a week of H3ll for me & the wife, she had been fighting a stomach bug for a week or so But it all came to a head Monday night /Tuesday Morning ,,, off to the E.R. at 5 AM & TONS OF PAIN, , the Appendex was removed years ago & the Historectomy was at the same time so there was nothing in the area of pain to think about other than her Bowels & that's what it was a hernia pinching off the small intestine , pain was worse than child birth so she said, , a Big shot of Morphine , a bit of Pentathol, a 2.5 hour surgery & she was Pain free, ,,, he didn't eat from Monday Evening till Thursday Morning , & then it was just Jello ,,,,, this morning was the first solid food, I made her a light & fluffy scrambled egg ,,,,,,, Plain No additives , no cheese, Nothing , just a plain Egg, well it was gone in 60 seconds ! She is feeling better as I was told I did a Bunch of things wrong when I set the table & got out the cook ware, , first , I used the wrong pan, & the wrong dishes, wrong silverware & I should have used paper napkins & not the good cloth ones ...... she is feeling better, well I spent the week at the hospital & didn't get to do much of anything , I did make it to the shop for a few hours a day , Glad I have trusted customers who can fill in when I am not there .... Thanks to all who helped out & for all the get well messages she got from family & friends

since she is still on soft foods I am not cooking anything today, Jello, Pudding, & broth are on todays menu, ,,, maybe a little cream of rice soup, or tomato soup, , I plan on staying on her diet till she can eat real good food, I have been sneaking some cashues & almonds here & there & a bit of fresh fruit, cant let it go bad....

right now I am getting ready for the Sunday morning ( now afternoon) pot of kona, Don Carlos #3 & a weeee dram a little later , , , , like after I get some real food in my gut, I might just need to take a trip to the local Diner & slam down a chicken fryed steak with mashed & cream gravy ......... then the scotch ! Enjoy, Vince

Hope the wife gets better quick. You have me hungry for a good chicken fried steak, but Cracker Barrel is about 55 miles away. Hope you don't wear yourself out and get sick. At least the weather is getting a bit better.

Cracker Barrel ? dammmm Tony why would you want to go 55 Miles for a chicken fried steak,,,, got to be some place closer & better , I don't like chain resturaunts , I try to stay away from them at all cost. most of those places just thaw & serve, nothing gets "Cooked" there,,, I like the local MOM & POP places ,,, the same for Pizza, Corperation food is the pits , I worked in a few of them & never wanted to eat there !

Enjoy, Vince

Gotta gift card to use up. We have backed away from Cracker Barrel in the past few years. My wife thinks they may not be the healthiest place to eat, but they do have a good chicken fried steak.

best wishes to your wife, vince! hope she will be better soon!
and.. chicken fried steak - is the best medecine!;)

Good morning B/S OTL , it is Sunday 13th of April 2014 a WARM sunny day here in da Burgh , the goof on the roof tells us we might hit 80/82 F today & snow on Tuesday..... welcome to Pittsburgh !
, This past week was busy here at home But slow at the shop, , the wife is feeling better & yesterday was her 65Th Birthday , just a baby , hahahaha we had the family in and had a little slice of cake all the lady's were in the house & all the guys were in the Qtr,deck , & everyone was happy, But me as the humidor was drained of a bunch of ISOM's & a few OLD stock Padron anniv. & OPUS ,,,, my brother , son in law & brother in law all know where the good stuff is & they hit me HARD ,,,,,, BUT we all had a good time ...... the cake was a Chocolate masterpiece with cherry filling & a whipped cream icing , there is a little left over & it will be gone today !!!!! , Since it is going to be so nice out today I will be manning the Grill with a pair of bacon wrapped tenderloins & a spiced yam all done outside , so there will be a lot less clean up inside , now that she is feeling better I have been put on notice that my "cleaning " left a lot to be desired, ,,,, I ran the vac the wrong direction in the living room as the tracks of the sweeper wheels should be the length of the room & not the width, or was it the other way round ,,, I don't know or care but she was not happy ....... Breakfast was a cheese omelet with bacon & a new coffee from the local roaster called Eruhar .... it is his blend of middle east coffees of different roasts & it made a great cup of coffee, smooth with a lot of depth & a THICK mouth feel the specific gravity of this coffee was very high , almost syrup like in the mouth but not sweet, , not bitter but a nice all round coffee, I had some of it during the week for a taste test & enjoyed it so much I went back to the shop to get more, & he was sold out , he will be making more next month...... I hope the next batch is as good....
not much else happening here , with the wife getting better & having a Birthday , most of my time was with her , & cleaning up after myself hahahah,,,, dammm that is a full time job!!!
I wanted to get out to the pistol range but I don't see that happing anytime soon,,,, there is a family of insects living in the barrel of the .357 , its been a long time since its seen the light of day . Maybe next week .........
Trout season opened yesterday , I didn't get a licence this year so I don't think I will be getting any lines wet , But I hope to get some fish from some of my buddies who went & braved the slight morning chill & elbow to elbow fishing on Saturday, every one & there son was out , just what you need is a 6 YO fishing for the first time right next to you , & when daddy is busy fishing the kid is talking to you, NON stop....... so I don't go out on the first day of trout anymore,,,, & maybe not at all this year, let some one else catch & clean them I will cook & eat !!!!!!! .
El burro de president & VP shotgun Joe will be in the area this week, so they can talk about the gas industry & developing the shale gas extraction & expasntion here in da burgh , NOW that 90% of the steel mills are gone, torn down & moved to China we now have the fuel to run them here.... I left the industry in 1988 after 18 years with the same company , started out sweeping the floors , ending up in the production office , running my catering business on the side 99.9% of my customers were fellow steel workers & I was making a GREAT living ...... nuff said about that it makes me sick to think about it......BUT I bounced back & have enjoyed myself I would have never been a radio talk show host if the mill didn't close & that was a BLAST for 4 years & I enjoyed it a lot , 1460 WMBA /1230 WBVP 2 local AM stations & I was the morning show from 9 to noon, Cooking With Vince ,,,,, it was a BLAST,
I have a lot to do today... cigars to smoke coffee to sip & beef to grill ,,,, time for me to get the Don Carlos #3 out of the humi & get comfortable with a mug of Kona & some Jazz, Enjoy, Vince

Good Morning ,4/20/14 it is Easter Sunday & the Son has risen, I hope you all have a blessed Easter & Passover .

well it was 80 on Monday & it snowed on Tuesday ,,,, welcome to the Burgh......
The wife is on the mend & will see the doc Monday & hopefully she will be given the OK to resume her duty's & give me a break from doing it all wrong . I haven't been taking the grandson out driving this past week, he busted up his right knee, & isn't in the mood to drive right now, & the older grandson is on the Amazon river right now ,,,,, what a life that kid is having , he has been in South America since August & will be home in June ,,,,,, see the world with out joining the Navy ...... being an exchange student is the way to go .
The shop is OK & the weather is so far OK ,total stick sales is right on but the cost of the sticks has gone down ....... so I am sitting on a BUNCH of $25.00 sticks that I might need to smoke my self hahahaha, the price point has dropped from the 8 to 10 buck range to the 5 to 7 buck range ...... but we are getting a lot of new younger cigar smokers & a TON of pipe smokers, Friday I had one sale of pipe tobacco that was over 60 Bucks , now I don't think I will see that guy back anytime soon, ,,,, if your on a Budget the pipe is the way to go , 60 bucks for cigars might get me through 2 days or 3 max but a month of pipe smoking.

My brothers father in law passed away Friday night he was in his late 80's & Saturday was my Dads 95th birthday , his wish in life was to reach 100 but he fell short by 25 years

there will be a ham in the oven soon , I was hoping to make lamb but the wife isn't a fan . the yeast is working on the bread dough & it will get on the heat soon, right now the house smells great , some thing about bread rising & Chocolate in the air that makes me Happy.....
breakfast was just a bagel & some fruit but some how the chipotle peppers found there way in to the cream cheese ...... & we did have a pot of Jamican Blue Mt. for breakfast , but the cost of a pot of that stuff just isn't worth it , sure its good but dammmm I can have 3 pots of Kona for the same price ,,,, I do LOVE my coffee & cigars , but there is a point where the cost has an effect & if I want to keep the life style I am living now I need to watch the cash flow & not over spend & end up smoking El Producto's & drinking pre ground Chase & Sandborn ,,,, or INSTANT coffee, & that is ok camping ( I say that since I don't camp) but last night we stopped at a new diner in the area & I asked for a cup of decafe & it was instant coffee,(yes I drink unleaded after 6PM ) ........ no brewed coffee at all just hot water & packets of freeze dryed coffee, .... I give them 6 weeks if that long...... no comment on the food , I will check back in a week or so ,,,,, if they are still open.....
I have the Kona in the press pot, the Don Carlos is cut & waiting for the fire .
Enjoy, Vince

Good Afternoon all, the cable was out as well as the phones & TV , , Comcast said I would have a tech. by 5 pm Saturday, he got here at 3 today after talking to Customer service in the Philipines, bangaldesh, honk kong, & ending up in Fla. late last night , & getting to talk to some one in English, even with the Southern accent she was easyer to understand than the 3 people I spoke to before her who didn't speak English as a first language , I applaud them for having the energy to learn English as it is NOT an easy way to speak & some of the answers you get to specific question shows that they don't have a grasp of the way we talk. However I was kind & courteous to all of them BUT wanted to shoot one of them had they been here...... as condescending as she was I was still civil....... My wife commented on how nice I was ....... that was a shock to me that she had some thing good to say hahahaha.... well we are back on line & I have a few hundred e mails to get to , & a lot of phone calls to return,,, as everything went direct to the voice mail. OUTSORCING MY ASS......
well breakfast was a B O B , breakfast on a bun... a buttered & grilled English muffin, topped with swiss , bacon tomato, & egg with a little hot mustard to dip it in , the coffee was a pot of South Pacific islands blend, a bit from here & there , & a pot of Kona went with the don carlos #3 after breakfast, it got down into the 30's last night & only up to the mid 60's today & a lot of wind which made it a nice day to have the oven on & the hunk o beef for the boss, she never gets tired of it ,,,, I wish I could say the same,,,, but my DC 3 & Kona is a Sunday staple much like her hunk o beef.
The grandson in Columbia called , he just got back from a 5 day trip to the Amazon rain forest & river cruise.....still has all his fingers & toes & got to taste a lot of food caught in the river ...... #2 grandson is still at home & will be getting a driving lesson Monday ! Both of them have great times ahead....
the shop was slow all week & Friday (my best day of the week) didn't pan out that way , I was there over 13 hours & didn't break 500 for the day, BUMMER .
well after a LOUSY Saturday today is looking a lot better , the TV is back & so is the internet, the phones work again & the wife is happy Amen. Enjoy, Vince

Good morning B/S OTL , it is Sunday 5/4/14 a cool wet morning here in da Burgh it has been raining here all week & the ground is getting to the point that it cant absorb any more water & it is starting to Pool up in the yards & along the roads , by August we will be wanting it to rain but now the yard is a swamp & the grass is in the need of a trim but its to wet to cut .......such is life ... it will get better it will get worse.... its LIFE.
A waitress some place in Utah asked the Dali Lama what was the meaning of life & his reply was" Happy-ness" ... Enjoy life to its fullest, & that my friends is what I have been doing all my life , sure I complain a bit to much ,, it is all part of the human experience.....being happy is the key to life, enjoy the moment , don't worry about the past, or the future , live in the NOW , HOW you achieve happy is up to you, it is different for everyone, that is the tuff question how do you achieve "Happy" . for some it is POWER, for others it is having a fit body, me , its good friends, a cool wind on a warm day, a Big mug of coffee with a fine old cigar & some Jazz playing softly in the background, with my family near & all having there own Good time ,,,,, my wife of 40+ years , our daughter & grandsons , my brother/cousins & there familys , my wifes family, all enjoying them selves sitting on a nice beach ,,, I don't know where the beach would be , an ocean, a lake or a river, it dosent matter, I just want to be in a place that needs no A/C or furnace, No predatory fish, mamels or bugs an abundant supply of coffee, scotch & cigars , access to fresh food all year long , solar & wind generated electricity,,,, yes I am looking for Utopia , WHY NOT ? hahaha
yes I hear all about global warming & the rise of the oceans , but that is the CYCLE of life man has no control over it , ,,, where did the ice age come from & where did it go ? man had nothing to do with it .... the "big brains" are just plotting a way to tax carbon , , & we are a carbon based life form, so they want to tax our existence ,,,,,,,, think about it that's all it is power & control over the people , .... I think the time to water the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots & tyrants is getting close if it isn't all ready here & past due..... so much for the political & philosophy lesson ... time to move on to the real stuff this BS is dedicated to , the Sunday morning smoke .... today it is a step up from the Don Carlos #3 to the Don Carlos President ,,,, it has been floating around the humidor for so long the tag is unreadable....
the Kona went in Cold water last night & has been "brewing " all night, it will get pressed & warmed up shortly .... Breakfast was a 3 cheese omelet , Jarlisburg, Irish chedder & a spoon full of cream cheese with hot pepper flakes , all beaten together & topped off with a drizzle of a cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from a buddy's family olive grove in Italy.... thick sweet & fruity with a hint of pepper on the back end, the color of a golden /green sunset ..... great stuff.

the temp is in the low 50's right now & the prediction isn't all that great But I have a slab of ribs all ready on the grill , a low indirect heat , the yams & yellow squash will go on later & a nice dark beer at a slight chill ( it is sitting on the back deck NOT in the fridge ) will be My beverage of choice today , Ribs & beer, a great way to start the BBQ season,,, the boss is going to miss her hunk O beef this week ! AMEN.
Got #2 grandson out driving last week, ,,,,,,, we made it home , no tickets , no accidents & one close call with a flock of turkeys crossing the road,,,,, I told him to go faster & hit dinner, but he hit the brakes ...... so we had cheese burghers instead of turkey hahahaha
#1 grandson is back in Columbia S.A. from a few days on the Amizon River , Damm kid has been more places in this year that I was when I was in the NAVY ,,,, see the world hahahaha . he will be home ONE MONTH from Today , he has been gone since August 22 of last year.....
the shop was slow as always , not any outstanding day just a bit below what we need for the week , Hope we make it up this coming week. 7 years of hand to mouth ,,, breaking even , making a little here & there adding to the inventory when we can ,,, we are having a BBQ at the shop later today BUT I am staying away as I NEED my Time away from the shop , so the guys are grilling burgers & dogs , & watching what ever is on the tube ,,,, I will be grilling my self here & NOT watching anything but the smoke rising from the grill & my cigar.... Enjoy, Vince

Good morning & Happy Mothers day to you all it is Sunday the 11th day of May 2014 & a wonderful morning here in da Burgh , the windows are all open & a nice warm breeze is blowing the curtains just a bit . looks like it is going to be a NICE day for a change . We just finished breakfast , grilled English muffins with bacon egg & Swiss,,,, kind of like a egg mc muffin but a lot less trouble than going to mickey'ds for breakfast. the coffee is an Indian Monsoon roasted medium dark ,,,,, the kona is being ground as I type , the Boss said she wants a cup when its ready , most of the time she has her breakfast mug & that's it till it is time to go to CharBuck$ for her Cupo cashchino , but today she wants to treat her self with a mug of Kona , How can I say no to the mother of my child hahahaha ,,,, & since today is Mothers day & she went out for lunch with our daughter yesterday , I get to spend the day cooking for her ( just like every day ) , so I have a bacon wrapped tenderloin & some corn on the cob , all going on the grill later today & there is a watermelon all cut up & chilling in the fridge, , there will be a choice of Pie today , she will have her choice of Cherry , Peach or Shoe-fly pie Thanks to the local Amish Community...... you didn't think I was going to bake them did you , if you have been reading the Sunday morning smoke for any time you will remember I am not allowed to bake as I tend to make a mess with the flour & other stuff...... so as far as baked goods I go to the Amish Community & pick it up....... easy & better than I can make ,,,, you cant beat a wood fired oven , it imparts a real flavor that cant be made any other way ,,,, & NO added chemicals or flavoring ........ REAL LARD crust on the pie, AMEN to FLAVOR.......
The Hummingbirds are outside the window giving me the eye ,,, hey fat boy the feeder is empty........ I had a comment here but I deleted it .....
Now that the weather has warmed a bit I have been leaving the door at the shop open wide & letting the breeze blow in , along with the leaves & Noise from the road, the dam loud trucks & Emergency responders, ,,, loud enough to wake the dead........ sales have picked up a tad , but still not setting any sales records ,,,,,
I had the grandson out driving again , he is doing OK but needs a lot more time in traffic to get comfortable with it. I was rooting around in the humidors this week & found that I am getting low on a lot of my stock, the Cigar crawl is coming up at the end of the month so instead of just stocking up on the high end stuff I will be needing a lot of yard gars & give away sticks ( yes I have give away sticks , but I do smoke them my self , its not like I stock swishers or Have a Tampa , my give away sticks are just , overstock , slow movers at the shop ,Overruns, seconds & some of the stuff I roll my self. No junk, cut fillers or machine made stuff , how ever I do grab a Marsh Wheeling my self every now & then. it brings back memories of my first cigar with Uncle Riley.

I have been having a lot of back & leg pain this past week, it is all just age related arthritis , the feet, hands & neck are not all that good on top of the rest , it is H3LL getting old but I guess it beats the grim reaper out of a soul for an other day or so , BUT yesterday I was at a 95th birthday party of a grand old lady who called my radio show all the time , this was the first time we met face to face , after talking to her for 4 years on the radio & 7 years at home ..... So have a Happy 95th birthday MRS. MOON...

it is about time to get out side & fire up the Don Carlos #3 , the bell just went off on the timer & the Kona is ready ...... Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday May 18, 2014 a cool wet morning here in da Burgh , we have had RAIN every day this past week & the yards & creeks are Full , the rivers are high & running fast & there is no let up in sight right now it is 52°F & the cloud cover is about 80% , not a great day a little cool for this time of the year But better than the BELOW ZERO we had this winter...... the wild life has exploded around here , Rabbits , groundhogs , raccoons ,possums, & Coyote's ..... time to do a little VARMENT hunting , I haven't seen any Bobcats in a few years now & the big dogs have moved in to fill the top spot on the preditore chain , loos like I need to cut back on a few dozen of them & hope to get some of the cats back.... .I am less than 35 miles from Downtown Pittsburgh, & with all the Turkeys, deer & other wild game here , you might think I am some place up in the Allegheney Mountains..... , I do love it here , I can jump on I 79 to I 279 & be Downtown in 25 minutes,, ( I am 5 minutes from the PA turnpike & I 79 interchange) , we have been here 35 plus years & I think our next move will be to a SR. High rise or a nursing home & then to Silivania Hills ( the local cemetery) ......
the shop was slow as always all week, , but we are breaking even & filling up the stock as we go , No trip to Vegas this year for the IPICPR EIEIO , or what ever its called , just cant get the time off & no one to run the shop when I am Gone,,, I will be taking a Friday off this month as the Cigar Crawl is again at the TOP of my to do list, , check it out at www.Cigarcrawl.com When I get home & sober up my grandson will be home from South America , he has been there since Aug. of last year, having the time of his young life but now its time for him to come home & get to work , he is going to need to learn to think in English all over again , from what I gathered from talking with him , His Spanish is top notch , & his German, French & Italian are improved ...... U.N. here he comes ,,,, some time soon I think he might take a stab at Cantoneese or Manderin..... keeping up with the piano was a real challenge for him but I hope he sticks with it .
I have a different smoke for the Sunday morning smoke , a Davidoff Double R & the coffee will be Kona with a back up of a DARK ROAST Green Mt. Columbian AA, I have been holding this Cigars since last years cigar crawl... so it is TIME for it to get turned into ash ! & then I have a Gray Cliff PGX ..... after that it should be time for the HUNK O BEEF ,,,,,,, I wish I could get her to change her taste buds for a little change , BUT she isn't one to change with out a lot of fighting against any change, like when she had to have her photo taken for her drivers liceance , she didn't like the photo they took, BUT now she is STUCK with it for 4 Dammmmmm Years .......
Tuesday is Primary election day here in Pa. & the Mud slinging hasn't let up for over a month , you could build an entire city out of mud bricks from all the mud that has been tossed at & from all the @$$HOLE$ running, No one is ever telling you what promisises that they will never keep just what an @$$HOLE the other guy is ... it is Sickening......
My plan is to NEVER vote for anyone who is all ready in office , VOTE THEM ALL OUT.... don't live off the state, GET a job & earn a living , yes it was nice of you to give up a few years to try & run things But now its time to let some one else try it , GET out of Washington & Harrisburg & let the next @$$ take his/her turn in the barrel...... NO pentions for ANY elected office NONE , Nada Zero , No pay raise , no per deium , no car , no cell phone , the job pays a set amount, if you cant live on that DONT RUN, what the hell many running for Gov. here in Pa is spending Millions of there own money & money from Lobbyests to take a job that will be a pay cut from what he is doing Now ....... So you know that will all get Paid back through higher taxes & graft & corruption,,,, what a system we have !!!!!
as my body gets older my mind & actions are still childlike , I love being a kid with a car & the avaiibity of scotch & cigars ... the neck, back, hands ,legs, elbows & knees not to forget the feet, all HURT, about the only thing that isn't hurting is my hair, Had I known I was going to get this old I MIGHT have taken better care of the body..... ... if you go back to very first posting of this thread way back to 2008 or so , maybe 2006 I don't have the desire to look it up right now , but I remember it well, I am going to slide side ways into the grave & say what a ride ..... & it has been a RIDE of a life time , yep MY life mostly Boring stuff BUT a lot of LIFE in every minute , life is not an action movie , there is a lot of down time just to do the things that need to get done . Right now it is time to fire up the Kona & the RR ..... Enjoy, Vince

good morning B/SOTL , it is Sunday 5/25/14 a wonderful morning here in da BURGH, the sun is up & warm , the breeze is out of the SW & the wind chimes are singing ........ NO POSTING NEXT SUNDAY , I will be on the Cigar Crawl all weekend , so kids Check back in 2 weeks & see if I am sober enough to post by then !!!

Its going to be the $AME OLD $HIT again this week, How ever my Grandson will be home for South America on the 4th of June ... that's about the only NEW item to tell you about , the humidors are looking a bit E M P T Y & need this trip to be refilled even my yard gars & give away's are looking depleted I have had to revert to tipping the people at $tar buck$ with cash , & they have asked me time & time again WHERES THE CIGARS? .... ..... it is getting more expencive to leave a cigars than the coffee costs & at CharBuck$ it aint cheep.... BUT my wife loves it so I sip my DBL ESPRESSO & she pounds down a triple cream frothed half soy half Voodoo Captain Crunch Iced latte with a bit of mint & a shot of caramel ...... I don't even know if there is any coffee in her's......
Had #2 grandson out driving again , ...... he is getting a little bolder & seams to like the GO Pedal a lot more now than he did in the past ..... ME not so much...... I have chewed off a few cigars & don't want to yell at the kid but he is getting a little to BOLD & needs to come back to earth asap .... I did have a long quiet talk with him but he is 16 & the hormones are raging & I don't think he heard a word I was saying , well his ears did pick up the sound but it didn't get prosesed by the brain..... hahahaha
we had a CAO event Friday at the shop & it went well ,,, But no swag a few free sticks & that was about it , I love the old days when you got all kinds of goodies from the reps & manufactures I have a ton of hats that I rotate through every day as well as a lot of shirts, cutters ,lighters & BS to put on the walls of the shop & the QTR.DECK .

I have a big day planned for the grill, Corn , summer squash, sweet potato's & a bacon wrapped Tenderloin ....... dammm I am drooling all over the key board...

"WARNING" the next subject might scare the H3LL out of you so be warned ....
there is a problem with the coffee harvest in Central America ..... a "Rust" or fungus, a blight on our coffee,,,, I haven't checked into what it is or how it will be taken care of, BUT I am stock piling a few of my Fav's from the region & will be looking at adding a bit more from the Pacific rim & Africa Just to be sure I don't run out before the problem is fixed ,,, storing unroasted coffee isn't a problem , but after you roast it there is a shelf life for FLAVOR , & that's what I drink it for the flavor NOT the BUZZ hahahahaha
yea right !
the week after the cigar crawl I will be rolling cigars at Verona Country Club for a golf outing , I got an order for 300 sticks so I will be busy bunching & getting a few rolled a head to keep up with the demand........ sure hope I sober up by then & don't cut my self with the chevetta hahahahaha
time to get the day going , the Kona needs made & the Don Carlos #3 needs cut ..... Enjoy, Vince

The coffee problem is something I've been aware of, but I'm not a coffee gourmet and I mostly just drink what I make in the coffee maker. I had a cup in the office of the resort I was at last week and it was awful. I don't care for starbucks or Dunkin Donuts and rarely have coffee when we eat out. I was tempted to buy some Vietnamese coffee, but post war prejudice won out. Maybe the coffee producers are overblowing the problem just to raise prices. Seems to work for everything else.

]no posting next suday I will be on the cigar crawl[/B
