Good morning , all hung over from last weekend, , still haven't fully recovered, seams like a little "hair of the dog" has been creeping into my system all week, ... after a weekend of cigars booze & general fun , I came home to a Birthday party for a Buddy on Monday, ,,, Tuesday was "Bible study " in the Qtr .Deck, , Wed My grandson came home from South America, Thur I went back to work & opened the booze locker just to take the edge off, Friday I was at the longue vue club for a Golf outing & I was rolling cigars for the players, & the tips came in the forms of cash & drinks, & Yesterday was Graduation day for the Grandson, so today I am DRINKING COFFEE ALL DAY , the blood pressure is holdingat 135/75.... & the Sugar was 110 .... so I am prossessing it all well BUT I need a NAP & its not even Noon yet,

the Cigar crawl was a Wonderfull weekend, you can read all about it & see all the photos at www.cigarcrawl.com

I have a roast chicken on the grill taking a slow spin over very low heat & a bit of smoke, the corn on the cob & baked peaches will go on later today

right now I am HURTING a bit , dammmmm I cant get over how bad I feel, I just don't recover as well any more, so I plan on cutting back .... YEA RIGHT HAHAHA
with a Bottle of 33 YO Brundiahabbain , sitting there un opened, & knowing me ..... Nuff said

I haven't had any time to sit down & talk to my grandson one on one & hear the stuff his mother cant hear , he has been busy & I have been hung over ,,,,,,,, , dammm I never remember it taking this long after the crawl to recover ,,,,, 15 years ago I would get home late Sunday & go to work at 4AM Monday ,,,,, AGE IS the Enemy ,,, what I used to do all night ,,, now takes me all night to do !

the weather here is Hot & humid & I have the Kona ready to press & Don Carlos III is waiting for a bit of Fire ... I hope next weeks posting is a bit more informative ,,, But right now I need more coffee a cigar, a few aspirin & a NAP
Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday (Fathers day ) 6/15/14 a warm dry day here in da Burgh the sky is blue & not a cloud in the sky so A happy Fathers day to you all, & we all now mothers day is 9 months after fathers day ........ well the grandson is home from Columbia South America I opened a 33 year old single malt & we sipped a fine old scotch older than he is . .... haven't had the time to sit down with him one on one & find out all the stuff he is keeping from his mother , he is busy getting back into the swing of things here in the good old USA , the pace of life was a lot different there, the afternoon nap in the heat of the day ...... is missing from his day now & he is cranky & irritable like a 3 year old who missed there nap hahahah
Fathers day sales at the shop were Good but I over bought , so I will be clearing them out for Fathers at Christmas ! , lets see raise the price 25% & give a 50 % discount from the new higher price ,,,,, still make enough to keep the lights on an other month !

breakfast was a Bacon spinach onion & cheese fritada, so it is spelled wrong but some thing is wrong with the spell check. it tells me its wrong BUT offers no different spelling And after all my years posting this BS you ought to know how to interput my rantings & ravings by now !
this morning we are drinking a Kona Peaberry roaster very light & brewed in the press pot in cold water over night , Full rich & flavorful, I didn't bother to heat it at all , & it went down just fine.
Since today is Fathers day & I am a father so my wife tells me I am anyway hahahah , I have a Don Carlos #3 sitting this one on the bench this morning , in to pinch hit for the Sunday morning smoke is an "IMPORT " from an ISOM, but do I start off with the Partagas series D #4 or the Monte #2 ....... it is a tuff choice .
on a sad Note R.I.P Chuck Knoll , coach of the" SUPERBOWL STEELERS" 4 titles in 6 years ...... when some one says Steeler football to me I don't think of the team members , I think of Coach Knoll .... a Quiet mastermind of what ever he did , from Conductiong a Synphoney orcherstra , to sacking a Qtr.Back , from running in plays from the bench as a player for the Browns to stomping the NFL under his will His LIFES WORK was grand.
Enjoy, Vince

. Good morning it is the first Sunday of summer 2014,a bright cool morning here in da Burgh.I got up ea'ry went to Dublin donuts to get he wife French cruller then to Starbucks for coffee and back home all before 8 am. I have a big day planned but who knows what will happen.she said breakfast was going to be bacon and eggs but she wanted donuts last night so God only knows what we will have when she gets up. Right now I am on the back deck with my new tablet typing with one finger and enjoying a Bahia Icon and coffee. She is just getting up and making coffee .So the quiet of the day will soon be over.
I have some corn on the cob and two bacon wrapped tenderloins set for the grill later today with some fresh picked strawberrys for a garnishon on the
Mamosa for breakfast ...if I am allowed to open a bottle this early hahaha.

Haven't seen much of the grandsons this week busy doing nothing . Still haven't been able to sit down one on one and get the scoop on his trip to south america.

We had a Foundry cigar event with the founder of foundry cigars mike gininni .we spent a ton of cast promoting the event, and at the last minute this DIRT BAG said he can't do it, some lame excuse about us returning a broken box and having an event with a different cigar company the next day... Bullshit it was the next week and the box returned was broken when it shipped his quality control should have noticed the hindge was Missing. Well we had the event with out him and sold a ton of cigars to bad they were his. But the burghers, dogs and all the side dishes were just fine and the single malt scotch eased the pain hahaha.
This Bahia is a great smoke but it isn't a Don Carlos and that is my Sunday morning smoke so when its done the dc three will get fired up with the Kona. Right now I am sipping a very dark Italian coffee mixed with a little Starbucks espresso. When I sat down to post this it wasgetting bright and sunny, now just a few minutes later the sky clouded up the temp dropped and it is raining .ahhhh yes Pittsburgh weather wait ten minutes and it will change. its time foe me to start breakfast if we are going to have bacon and eggs but if its just donuts I am good for a second cigar so I hope hahaha. Enjoy, Vince

It is Wed.I am sitting at King Beaver Cigars enjoying a isom partagas& sipping coffee with a gin and tonic .Brubeck is on the CD player and the customers are watching baseball on the TV with out sound life is tuff!
Enjoy,Vince

Vince- how's the Brubeck ? Used to be a big fan. Met him in NYC at Grand Central Station in the 60's. Talked to him for a few minutes before we both caught the train to CT. Nice, personable guy. All my Brubeck is on vinyl, so I rarely play them any more. Good quartet, Joe Morello was great on drums.

I have a ton of Brubeck, a lot of live recordings ripped off the sound system at a few clubs he played here in da burgh back in the 60's. some is good sounding , nothing is QUALITY sound , they were on reel to reel but now are in the computer it didn't help the quality of the sound...... nothing in stereo all on one track. beats not having anything. enjoy, vince

Good morning , it is Sunday 6/29/14 a warm wet day here in da Burgh , I have been up & out all ready this morning off to Dunkin Donuts for a 6 pack to go ... BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS ...... & its not even 9 am yet.... , AND I have no idea what to make for Sunday supper, I asked the boss to get some thing out of the freezer last night , & reminded her this morning , still nothing out I think she wants to go out to eat today..... Her mother is close to the end, & I think that is heavy on her mind.
sales were so /so at the shop this week, last week we had a no show from mike gininni the founder of FOUNDRY cigars , after spending over a thousand bucks on ad's , posters & a BBQ . he bails out at the last minute with an explanation looking like a piece of Lace .... it was full of Holes, , hey just say your sick or some thing like that but he was fine on Thursday , & again on Saturday but Friday he was under the weather sure I can except that but to say we didn't advertise it enough & we had other events planed for this week ,,, SO what we di advertise it & we have an event EVERY FRIDAY , & his was a special one , BIG bucks spent on promo & the likes , But I guess it wasn't enough for the great one to show up, we Bought a few thousand bucks worth of Foundry cigars & don't even get a call from the MAN, he has is sales rep tell us... Be a man & SHOW UP . dammm that burns my buns ... well I have a lot to do today , like figure out the next cigar & what coffee to brew & what scotch to drink it is a tuff life here in da Burgh, so many decisions to make , so little time to do anything.... hahahaha Enjoy, Vince

Good morning, it is Sunday July 7,2014 a BEAUTFUL day here in nda burgh , Clear blue sky & 71 F at 10:30 am low humidity & a light SW wind a GREAT day to sit relax & reflect on what when on this past week. First & formost my Mother in law passed away & with Friday being the 4th of July she Missed the fireworks & she did love them, , the family got together at my nephews home along raccoon creek & a verrry nice celebration of her life was held, she had 3 Children & I am married to the oldest daughter, my brother in law Howard Jr. was next & he has 3 Boys & 12 Grandchildren, & my sister in law & her husband & son , but no grandchildren yet , I have 2 grandsons , so that makes 14 GREATGRANDCHILDREN for my mother in law , from 2 weeks old to 18 there were little ones all over the place ...... R.I.P Nana ...
I missed a few days at the shop but the sales were OK as far as I could tell, the numbers will all get jammed into the computer & we will know more at the end of the month . its all just NUMBERS on a sheet of paper , or a computer screen,,, I just enjoy the interaction with the people , enjoying the cigar & telling my wife how "HARD" it is at work hahahaha
I have a slab of ribs on the grill & some Corn on the cob to go on later & a baked peach pie with out a crust going on the grill later today, , so I guess with out a crust its not a pie , just a baked peach compote or what ever you want to call it .... & there is cheese cake for desert...... left over from yesterday.
the first pot of the day was a Zim-bob-way coffee that was a medium/light roast , it was a refreshing cup this morning , & since I broke out a Box of ISOM's yesterday for the family I think I will start the day with one of them since they all didn't get set on fire last night , so a Monte Corona will start the day & the Don Carlos will take a rest , & I might pass on the Sunday pot of Kona & go with a Mayorgia Cuban coffee with the Monte . it only seams right in in the taste buds of my mind. ,, who knows it might be a bust or a Home run , only time & my taste buds will know for sure in a few minutes !
that's abot all I have this moring , time for me to hit the back deck today & get the cigars going & the coffee brewing , the bacon & eggs I had for breakfast will hold me to 4 when the ribs should be ready that will give the 10 hours in the hickory & wild cherry smoke. Time for me to get on with the activitys of the day Enjoy, Vince

Good Morning it is Sunday 7/13/14 a warm humid day here in da Burgh. a weather advisory is in effect for heavy rain damaging winds & hail, about 1 inch of rain is supposed to fall today. better rain of 1 inch than 10 inches of snow !!!!! & that might happen ! hahaha ,
Friday night we had a Whisky tasting at the shop & sales were off the chart, I guess a LOT of whisky opens wallets hahaha . The grandsons are both busy , #2 has had a lot of health problems all his life , & now we are told he has a defect on a gene that causes Marfan Syndrome , Long arms & legs , joint problems heart problems & a host of other things My father suffered from & at 6-10 & just 195 Pounds he had all the signs of it. His Great grandfather was over 7 Foot , & now My grandson has the same problem. he is laid back about it , no cure, no treatment, just a little Bump in the road of life , he is taking it with a grain of salt & getting on with being a teenager & all the problems that brings with all the pressure of growing up & he is GROWING UP , his hands are bigger than mine But he is VERRRRRY thin, we thought it was a Nutrition problem & spent tons of money that the insurance did cover getting him to Doc's & into treatments that never worked , but a smart old country doc , took one look at him, before he drew blood & told us what the problem was , , you cant beat EXPERANCE , its better than any state of the art computer testing. Age & wisdom will prevail over all.
#1 grandson has a summer job at a café working as a server & making some good money ( CASH) he is saving for a plain ticket to Germany & a Job there , the travel bug has bit him & he cant get enough.
I plan on having an easy day today , if it isn't a DOWNPOUR I will be grilling a few ears of corn & some bacon wrapped Tenderloin of Beef, , no matter the season My wife is a BEEF lover , she isn't big on lamb, or any game animal, fish is Ok if it is deep fried , Chicken is on that table a few times a month as is Pork , BUT Beef is her FAV. so I cook it for her..... Happy wife happy life ....... Yesterday I felt GREAT about the wonder sales we had on Friday so I DUG DEEP into the humidor & came up with a Fantastic day of cigars , I don't think I will be digging that deep for a long time BUT the day started out with a Casa Fuente Churchill after breakfast, & I did break out the KONA & the 33 YO Brunsihabhian . What a way to start the day & get the taste buds all fired up...the cigar lasted almost 2 hours had I been inside & not out in the wind I might have gotten a LOT more out of it . next was a Padron "A" size & it lasted just over 3 hours ,,,, be still my taste buds ,,, then a Corona , a special Corona a Partagas 150 anniv. that has been getting moved a lot lately so it was time .... I made a steak salad for the boss & myself & broke out the AGED cheese, vinegar & EVOO with a full belly we went for a "Cigar " ride & stopped at CharBuck$ for her frappachiono & my expresso, , & the smoke was a ISOM Hoya Dbl.Corona the value of my stash went down a lot yesterday but what I made up in Quality I saved in Quanity
Today will be a Normal Don Carlos #3 and Kona to start , & who knows where the SMOKE will lead me . Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday 7/20/14 a warm humid day here in da Burgh . This past week was a BUSY DOING NOTHING week !
Since most of the "Cigar" people are in Vegas this weekend things were quiet all week at the shop , But Saturday I drove north to Erie Pa & rolled cigars for a dedication of a new facility for Edinboro Univ. . I was sitting in a tent with no walls & a table with the wind & rain all over the place , it made it TUFF to get a good roll & stretch on the wrappers But Humidity was not a problem, , the money was OK but NO Tip jar allowed .... that sucked . But it was a fun evening.....
I got the day off from Cooking today the wife is making stuffed peppers in the crock pot , she had all day yesterday to "play" with it when I was gone , so she made a crock full & they are in the slow cookers all ready , I did make breakfast for her this morning , scrambled eggs with cheese & a slice of almond toast the morning pot of coffee is an Ethopian medium roast mixed with a 20% dark roast Yeman , & that finished Both of them ,,,, time to roast some time soon. & the faithful grinder of 10 years bit the dust last week & I was forced to get a new one, well the one I had was discontinued years ago ,,,,,, so it was off to the local shop to see what is on the shelf..... PLASTIC JUNK , they had 2 Burr grinders in stock , one was all plastic including the gears, the only one with a good gear set was over 150 Bucks & did 4 ounces at a time ..... ONE POT OF COFFEE ! hahahaha I do use 2.5 ounces of coffee for every 10 six ounce cups so that's 60 Fluid ounces of water & 2.5 ounces of medium course ground coffee for the Drip pot ..... In the press pot I add a wee bit to the ratio 1.75 ounces of ground coffee to 20 ounces of water , let it sit over night & it will stand up with out a cup hahahaha. Grandson #2 who had all the low weight problems as a pre teen now has a reason for not gaining & getting taller , Morfan's Syndrome , MY father was 6-10 & his great grandfather was over 7 foot. & my grandson looks a lot like my father , LONG torso ,long arms hands & legs , Thin build & near sighted, Sound like Both of them.... , No cure Or cause so the doc said make lemon aid out of the lemons life gave to you ..... Who has the GIN??????
On my trip up & back to Erie I got 32.0 MPG on my Escape , with it raining the entire time the road spray from all the cars & trucks passing was a real pain in the @$$ , couldn't open the sun roof as I got soaked every time some one passed me , so I did tilt it up for the ventilation But it would have been nice to open it up a bit more with ther speed limit of 55 in places & 65 most of the time I was getting passed by everyone & there Grandmothers as I was doing the "POSTED" limit ..... yea right it seams like I-79 has a speed of infinity even in the rain the @$$HOLES on the crouch rockets were FLYING but the guys & gals on the big Harleys were just staying with the traffic , ... a BIG difference of temperament between the 2 types of riders ...... Never had a crouch rocket & never wanted one .... Never had a Harley Never wanted one of them , But I did have a lot of street bikes when I was a lot younger , My Favorite was a Triumph Bonneville , , a Luffmiester , fairing , tour pack & bags , heated seat & grips , it was a wonderfull bike , I had a few Hondas & a Yamaha , & a BMW , all were fine machines but the Bonnie just looked GREAT , the BMW was a sweetheart to ride , But it looks like a WWII Vermachet delivery Cycle ,,, I did put a lot of miles on it But it never stole my heart like the Bonnie did . I have NOTHING TO DO THE REST of the day but relax & smoke cigars so it is OFF TO THE QTR.DECK, with a Don Carlos #3 a BIG mug of Kona & Dave Brubeck on the CD player ....... Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday 7/27/14 a warm humid day here in da Burgh we have had some HOT days and cool nights , & some cool days & warm nights , got to turn OFF the A/C a few days but it is back on now , hazy hot & humid is the forecast..... it was a strange week at the shop sales were good but it was mostly grab & run , very few people hanging out doing nothing, but the stick count & box count were up but the BULL$hit level was down !
Breakfast this morning was a cheese filled Crepe with bananas & oranges , the coffee was a Tanzanian peaberry., with a med. light roast ,... could have been a bit darker for me but the boss liked it so that is what she got ! , I have the Standared hunk O beef in the oven all ready , she was jonesing for it , so the bacon wrapped tenderloin or ribs on the grill have been put on hold , ,,,, back to her favorite .... No imagination , plain & simple ... easy for me to make but never a challenge .
I have been digging DEEP in the humidor this past week & digging out a fair amount of ISOMS , ahhh the partagas series D #4 & the monte #5 & the Cohiba lanceros all took big hits this week..... lets face it , I am not going to get younger & why leave that stuff for a rainnny day when I can ENJOY it NOW.
I have a great mix all set for today , with the Kona will be the Don Carlos #3 , & after that I am looking for some thing rich but Mild..... hummmm a nice Spayside malt whisky & a Partagas 150 might fit the bill, if I have time before the hunk O beef is ready I might have a short story Maduro & after the Hunk O beef I have a Padron "A" calling my name.... right now I am getting the munchies & kona is ready.... Enjoy, Vince

good morning , it is Sunday AUGUST 3,2014 a rain soaked warm humid overcast day here in Da BURGH. Steeler training camp is in full motion in Latrobe Pa about an hour east of me , but I have no plans to visit this year,,, dammm its way to hot to be outside let alone getting all suited up & bang into each other hahahaha
well lets get back to reality.
Breakfast coffee was an OLD favorite a Tanzanian Pea Berry , a great pot of coffee for sure . a grilled bagel with bacon & egg hit the center of the plate & a raisin cookie finished it all with more coffee , right now I have the Kona ready to brew & the Ever present Don Carlos #3 ,,, I don't know what it is about this cigar , it just Hits my taste buds & anything less is a let down, & I have started the day with so many different smokes , from ISOM's to stuff I rolled my self ( CIGARS not anything else ,,,, I haven't had any pot since I was in the Navy MANNNNNY years ago & I don't like that morning Buzz , that's why I save the scotch for after supper, well some times after lunch , But NEVER before breakfast.... Instead of breakfast hahahaha ) , BUT nothing has matched the satisfaction I get from a DC#3
Since it IS Sunday & that tells me its time for me to fire up some kind of beef dish for the BOSS so it looks like a Bacon wrapper over a tenderloin Again , Corn on the cob & a grilled summer squash with a baked peach for desert.
When I got home from work Friday there was a box on my bed ,,,, a box of Maria Mancini magic mountain maduro GREAT surprise , great smoke & low cost... you cant beat the combo.... what combo you ask/ a magic mountain & just about anything you want to drink with it , from Coffee to rum , beer, SCOTCH, sparking wine , or even a tall cold GIN & tonic ..... I have no idea when or where she picked them up ... Don't know, Don't care , just sit back & enjoy the ride ....
We had a Gurkha event at the shop yesterday , I did pop in for abut an hour , But it is my day off so I said Hello, Good by & had a quick smoke & picked up a Pizza for the boss on my way home & some Sashimi for me. I didn't stick around to long as the place was jammed & there was a lot of work to do, SO,,,, I beat feet & got out of Dodge asap. I will find out how everything went when I go in Tuesday !
My daughter & son in law went on a road trip to Arkansas for a tattoo ....... 17 hours drive for a Tattoo...... I don't get it at all, well it is a nice looking butterfly with NANA in the pattern of the wings , that's what she called her Grandmother who passed away .... Not like she was not able to get it done here in da Burgh, But this was some GURU of tats so they went to Clinton country & spent there inheritance on the trip... it wasn't much in the scheme of the world but the tribute was kind of nice,,,, But I have no ink & have no plans of getting any.
Not much going on with the grandsons , #1 got a part time job at a café & #2 finished building his new computer , he said some thing about a Terabite of RAM , ROM or what ever , dammmm I have no idea what he was talking about ... all I know it was an EXPENCIVE project but he tells me that with him putting all the different componets together him self he gets a lot more bang for the buck,,, all I know that it is on its own power source ,a dedicated line from a sub panel box & a 50 amp breaker all set up just for his "Toy" , it has a 20 inch fan cooling it ,,,,,, watch out NSA he is coming for YOU hahahaha , he said he wants to get a dry ice system to cool it & make it faster, I told him wait till you get a Job & can pay for it your self.... or go to work for the NSA & let the taxpayers pay for it hahahaha . He will go far in the computer world if he doesn't end up in jail hahahaha ....
It is getting to be that time , my finger tips are getting a blister from typing , & the Kona is ready to drink & DON CARLOS is calling me ... Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday Sugust10,2014 a warm humid day here in da Burgh , the weather has been great this past week today is the warmest of the week , but all week it was in the high 70's , great sleeping weather , windows open , with just a sheet, could not be better !!! Not much going on this past week, it was a Quiet week at the shop, , the grandsons were "Busy" being teenagers, & the Boss was busy with her sister doing what ever the H3LL they do when they get together, its better that I don't ask any questions & just go with the flow, last night they got together here & she brought her husband so the 2 of us went to the Qtr.Deck with a Bottle of scotch a few cigars & a few CD's ....... , its good to have a brother in law that likes the same stuff you do .... or at lest goes along with it ... ,,, Giving him a humidor a few years ago was a good move ! well it was a little more than a few , looking back it is about 15 years now..... TIME FLYS !
The boss was in a strange mood this morning & she asked for Hot Cakes for breakfast, so I made her Hot cakes & bacon , that is the first time she asked for them in a LONG time , I didn't have any buttermilk so I added a few drops of apple cider vinegar & it was just enough acid to get the baking powder to start its magic rise , & the chemistry took over & the cakes were light & fluffy topped with a slice of bacon & a bit of butter & maple syrup ..... the coffee was a Peaberry .
I have the ribs all ready going & they will be ready about 4 , a baked potato, with onions & green beans with bacon, & baked peaches ( crustless pie ) all made outside on the grill, NO KITCHEN CLEAN UP !
The Kona is in the press pot & the Don Carlos #3 is getting moved to the side again this Sunday , & I am going with 1960 Contraband Monte #4 , a corona size that is getting to look like it has seen better days , it gets banged around & & it had a small crack on the foot & I want to get to it before it gets worse, such a burden I place on my self to get rid of that stick.... the creamation will take place soon ....... I am READY hahahaha

Enjoy, Vince

Sunday aug17 2014 busy day, not feeling all that well , maybe a posting later

shop is good But there is a lot of family problems here , between my daughter & my grandson,,, it is very upsetting & I haven't been sleeping well or eating well, things seam to go from bad to worse, & I am disappointed in my daughter as she never was treated anything like she is treating her son. he was her shinning star an accomplished piano player & now he wants to Quit the piano & try some thing different in his life , he has a great gift for language & feels he can make a good living with a job as a translator ,,, a better living than playing piano , he loved to play but he pays classical & the number of jobs for Classical piano players are few & far between ...... its a tuff life ......
.

Good morning it is Sunday 8/24/14 a HHH , hazy hot & humid day here in da Burgh. , things here are not much better this week than last . , BUT life goes on .....
the shop was slow all week & I took Friday off so I could attend a fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosses , I rolled cigars & since it was an out door event EVERY one was puffing away sipping beer & wine & listening to the quiet Jazz & light Rock played live , there was an auction & a lot of STUFF was on the block for sale & they raised a ton of money ... I will be back next year to do it again....
, breakfast was a cheese filled scrambled egg , with Swiss, Irish & hot pepper cheese the wife picked up a loaf of Almond bread that toasted just fine with a sliced banana on it a little bacon & peanut butter.... a great way to start the day ! , there is a slab of ribs on the L O W heat & should be ready about 4 PM , the corn on the cob will get a light smoke a little later today , along with a Crust less peach pie.....
I have been smoking some OLD stock out of the humidor I "Found " a few sticks that have not seen the light of day since the turn of the century . a 14 YO Fuente 858 natural, a few domestic Monte #2's ,and a few more that didn't have bands on them that were gifts from a Buddy in Canada that were given to me after he returned from Vacation in Havana ...... strange smokes , black ash ,tight draw BUT a flavor that was OUTSTANDING, just little robustos but that lasted well over an hour ...... U figure it out hahaha

My local FM "Talk" station changed formats to Country music..... so I had to change my listening habits & go to an AM talk station but the reception here isn't all that great so I went to a PBS station (FM) that has the BBC news feed & that didn't last long so I am back to listening to the FM Oldies station ,,,,,, Change will do you Good ... BS I was happy with what I had !
maybe the 10 bucks a month for XM is worth it ....... HELL NO , Why pay for the cow when you get the milk for free , or why buy the hog when all you want is a little sausage .... I will find a station that will suit my mood & taste or just play a tape or CD ,,, YES I still have TAPE & CD's , I do have a stick that plugs in that has 105 albums on it , BUT I cant find the dam thing, it is so dammmmmm small it might be anyplace you just don't loose 105 CD's with out tripping over them !!! this little stick is about the size of a AAA battery ... BRING BACK V Y N A L LP's & turn tables

on a different train of thought , lets get on the problems in the middle east .... what to do .... I have no idea BUT if ISIS wants to come here & try the Largest army in the world it is the American Hunters ......, no we don't have Tanks or Cannons ,,,,,,,, or do we hahahaha ,,, I have enough 38 & 357 ammo to last about a week & that is just for the Up close fighting, the middle ground calls for the 12Ga Pump. & the reach out & touch some one 308 & 338 are all well & sighted in at 300 Yards , You notice there are no autos or semi autos , I like to make each shot count as apposed the spray & pray type of fire. NOT that I want to do it , but if need be I will be able to fall back on my training & get in nthe grove as well as I can,,,, DONT WANT TO DO IT , But I AM Capable & trained to do so .. as long as this OLD frame holds me up & the eyes & ears still work. ..... after that I might go to the spray & pray with high hopes of hitting some thing.... it might be time to turn the sand of the desert into Glass....

the wife just delivered the first pot of the Kona from a new batch that was roasted last Thursday ,,,,,,,,, YUMMMMMMMY . this call's for some thing a bit on the rich side , something with hootzpa , a Monte Espada , just might fit the bill , but a Partagas series D #4 , might do it justice , But a Diamond crown maduro torpedo might tip the taste buds .... right now I thing I will just enjoy the coffee a few minutes before heading to the humidor to make the decision & see what the next cup will bring ,,,, Enjoy, Vince

Vinyl is coming back a bit and purists never left it. I'm convinced they change formats every so often so they can sell new players and stuff to play on them. Next time I'm staying with CDs and Vinyl.

Good morning all , it is Sunday 8/31/14 a wet rain soaked day here in da Burgh , the power went out about 2am & came right back on , it ha been raining all night & I am glad we had our Labor day picnic yesterday even if the temp did get to 88F that's better than sitting out in the rain...... well I do enjoy the rain but it is real tuff to smoke a cigar in the rain with out an umbrella & even then the humidity swells up the stick & splits the wrapper if you take to long to smoke it up & I am a slow smoker compaired to some of the friends & customers .....

OK That gets this post off to the fast start .... now its back to the same old BS I have been posting for years
, BUT I digress a bit back to yesterday, we went to my friends place for a little pot luck, I made roasted sweet potatoes on the grill, , there was a pork loin , fresh snap beans , & Bruscutta on garlic toasted baguette , & KEY LIME cheesecake ,,,,, dammmm I was FULL. so after we ate the guys went out side into the blistering heat & sat in the shade of a pear tree, & light up a few Contraband monte #2's with a Verrry nice snifter of 25 YO apple brandy , local made aged in an old wine barrel GREAT Kick to it a bit much to Gulp it down but the flavor was top notch & with the heat of the day it was a great way to get a buzz & start to perspire , dammm I soaked right thru my shirt , But it was GOOD.
After the sun went down it did cool off a bit & by the time we left & went to starbucks on the way home ( she needed her PUMPKIN LATTEE) it had cooled off enough to sit on the back deck & enjoy my DBL espresso when she was sipping her pumpkin spiced cup of what ever it was... I just cant get flavored coffee or flavored cigars ,,, God made the coffee & the tobacco , why try to change it ????
breakfast this morning was a roasted red pepper & Hot pepper cheese scrambled egg with Almond bread toasted slightly & covered with butter ,,, I love the texture of the chopped nuts in the bread.
there is a bacon wrapped Beef tenderloin & corn on the cob going on the grill today , a few sliced tomatoes with cheese melted on them & that should be a fine Sunday meal & of course a FINE cigar after ..... . the shop was SLOW all week we had a sales rep on Thursday for a little event from 5 to 9 , I left at 6 & did about 100 bucks in the event & my relief man did about 150 the rest of the night ,,,, Friday I was there 12 hours & did a LOT better ,,, even with high school football we did FINE.
$ameOld$hit with the with the grandsons , wish I had some thing to tell you but NADTN !
NO Kona this week , a high mountain grown Columbian with a LIGHT roast brewed cold in the press pot over night ...... haven't made up my mind on it yet , it might go well with a cigar BUT the proof will come soon.
The Local Grange had there fair this past week & this is the first year in 38 years we did get there , just stuff going on all the time & no time for the fair. , who wants to walk past all the prize winning beef pork & lambs when it is still standing on all 4's ,, I want it on a PLATE hahahaha .

After a great day with friends yesterday and GREAT cigars , I am not sure what to start the day with since there isn't a pot of Kona to go with Don Carlos #3 , I do want some thing a bit spicy BUT I might go maduro for a hit of sweetness , & there is a candella 858that has been floating around for a few months ..... Do I want to start with a Monte from Nicaragua, it is a bit spicy & almost as dark as a maduro,,,, maybe I will just grab a Yard gar & let the smoke take me some place in my mind........ dammm I might get lost its dark in there hahaha Enjoy, Vince
