The whole left side of that eye is blood shot; like compeltely blood shot. It doesn't look pretty. Good thing I go to see the eye doctor today for my follow up visit; but I'm sure I will not be able to use my contacts again for a week or so until my eye clears up.

I have never been able to use contacts, right now I have trifocals , the Bifocals were just to weak, , I could read or see at arms length but couldnt see far away, or if I cold see far away & at arms lenght I wasnt able to read the news paper, so I went with the trifocals a few years ago glad I did , the small section in the center of the lens lets me read the computer screen & the bottom section gets the keyboard in focus , this saves from needing 2 pair of glasses , one for close up & one for long distance, with the middle distance in both, well all 3 in one works for me .

Good Morning , & a Beautiful Sunday morning it is , I had a great week & didnt get to sleep till about 4 am this morning, it was the First Annuial Cigar BBQ at Slippery Rock Cigars yesterday , deep fry turkey, dogs & burgers, corn on the cob & a ton more of food, I was good & had a little turkey & about 5 mugs of coffee withe a weeeeee dram of Balvinie Doublewood single malt, NICE stuff!!, Oh yea I almost forgot, Baked Beans ! the aroma makers hahahahaha ! but with the 40 plus people all smoking cigars no one noticed ( & if they did WHO CARES ! ) we were outside & the wond was blowing , the grill was smoking & the turkeys were in the deep fat, the aromas were every where , almost 200 bucks was raised for Project Pink, the breast cancer fund & we recorded Blowen smoke #17 POD cast , it should be edited & on the web in a few days to listen to the first 16 pod casts go to http://www.Burghherfers.com then click the link to the POD CAST, be sure to vote on our rumble in the bundle cigar pole & be sure to visit our frapper map , all the links shoud be there for you to click on , so I am told ! hahaha
well back to the post at hand, I had a wonderful omlet with the wife this morning, red & yellow bell peppers, Valdian onion & hot pepper cheese , a pot of Moka Java , I am saving the Kona for the Cuban Trinadad I will be having this morning when I have finished posting ! sounds like a GREAT way to start the day !
The A/C is running on the Qtr.Deck & I will be spening the day there it is going in the 90's here today so I am told, well I am READY !
I have a pot of red gravy working & some sweet sausage going in , a little yellow & green summer squash will get grilled later today & thats Sunday Supper today .

The ants have found the Humming bird feeder so it is time to move it again, this time the humming birds didnt find it first, it has been hanging in the same place for years & this is the first time the ants got into it, so we moved it out in the yard about 30 feet from where it was & it took almost 2 wees before we say the ants in the liquid , HOW do you keep the DAMMMMM ants out of the humming bird feeder???

the eye is on the mend & I am still having to sleep on my stomach, dammmmm uncomfortable for me , the gas bubble in the eye is getting smaller, I can see all of it now, before it was so big it was just wall to wall, now I can see the ring of gas as I type, HEY just thought, I can blame the gas on my EYE hahahahaha !, well that will only go one , Maybe two times hahahaha !

I just came back from the eye doc, good report from him , go back in 3 weeks , still no driving, started the day with a columbian supremo, & an 8.5 x 52 Maduro Ybor City , Now that IS a morning smoke ! 2.5 hours of fine smelling,great tasting, Cheep cigar ! , the Price was great, A buddy just came back from Tampa with a small gift for me ( a Bundle ) , then he mooched a few right back, he didnt bring any for him self !! ahhh what are friends for if not to mooch back some of the cigars they just gave you ! hahsha

It is WED. 2 Aug, 06, time for an up date , 10:30 am here in the Burgh & it is 91F with a heat index of 107 I don't think I will be out side mucg today ! just to go from the front door to the Qtr.Deck , the a/c is on & has been running all night , I didn't shut it off last night as the low was in the 70's & the humidity was in the same area, just like my Humidor . dammm it is Uncomfortable outside
well yesterday I was with the wife she went to the dentist & I went to applebees to wait for her , well I asked the bar tender if I could please smoke a cigar with my 12YO glenlivette & coffee, she said sure no problem, the place was almost empty, no one else at the bar, 2 tables in the back & well away from the smoke , so she pours me a shot of the Glenn & leaves it in the shot glass, , I ask for a snifter , Don't Have any, OK how about a wine glass or a rocks glass, , some thing , so I get a rocks glass & dump the shot in , the coffee comes & I take a sip, hey not bad, Columbian , fresh & strong, Now what kind of a watering hole would not have a brandy snifter in the place I don't know , she brings me a large ashtray & I light up a Nice Mombacho toro , triple legero , @$$ kicker , take a sip of the scotch & am getting into the groove & the manager stops to my right & informs me I cant smoke there , SO I pick up my $50.00 bill from the bar , & my cigar , take a puff blow the smoke in his face & walk out, leaving the drink & the coffee, & not paying for it , I just had a sip & was getting ready to consume scotch till my wife got out of the dentist & had planned on spending the better part of the 50 if not all of it depending on how long she was in the dentist office, , so I walk out , go to the car, open the trunk & pull out a lawn chair, set up in the shade by the dentist office, , It is across the street from applebeees , & finish my cigar in the sweltering heat of the day, there was a nice breeze , But it was still HOT ! , I had a coffee in the car & I am glad I had it with me , it was a little cold but in all that heat I didn't mind a bit, so I waited for the wife about 1.5 hours & when she came out I had just dropped the butt in the coffee can I carry for an ashtray when I cant find a place for my Butts , I try not to leave butts laying around like the cigarette smokers do , what a filthy habit ! I always clean up after self, the only thing I leave behind is a wonderful aroma, & a BIG TIP when I get good service , how ever I am one who will not tip when the service or treatment is below MY LOW standards & my standards are not all that high , all I ever want is a CLEAN snifter when I change brands or different ages of the same whisky, , black coffee in a clean cup, (no lipstick on the rim from the last person who used the cup,) NO LOUD music & a well ventilated room, & the good times to be had by all, , , , Now I know thats NOT asking to much but that is the minimum I will accept , & should be able to recieve it almost any place , but not yesteday, I got the bums rush & I will never go back, , granted I didnt pay for the drink but I didnt get to drink much of it . dammm shame , I was really looking Fwd. to that drink & cigar, oh well I got the cigar anyhow, it would have been better had I been able to sit in a cool bar & sip some sinfle malt with itb ! dammmmm !! I got home tonight & my sister inlaw stopped out with a small gift from the Corona cigar company some place in Fla, where they were on Vacation, , a small coffin, GOD OF FIRE BY CARLETO , doubble robusto, it has been in her suitcase a week, so it went in the humi to rest for a few weeks till I find some thing to celebrate & smoke it ! , hey the sun came up this morning , good reason to celebrate, so Now I have a reason , just need to wait till the cigar is Ready ! I know I am !!!

...and by "mine" I mean the one where I work. I take pride in my work, and so does my crew.

If you are in NE ohio Drop me a line and ill show you how applebees is SUPPOSED to be.

the only probleem i have with them is the no cigar rule. but for the money and respect i get from them i can live with that.

I have no problem with the fact that applebees is a non smoking place, BUT I asked & was told OK before I lit up, ,before a drink was poured or before any coffee was served, I sat there sipping coffee & tasting the scotch, & puffing away for almost 5 minutes before the Manager told me to stop, , I didnt argue with him , I didnt say the bar tender told me ot was OK, I just took one last ouff & walked out cigar in hand , left the coffee & drink, , BTW it was good coffee !
I will do my best to get up to Akron for a cigar & a drink, maybe a cup of good coffee @ Applebees !

Sounds OK for me , since we know the place, Pick a time & date !

your close enough for me to get back home as long as I dont drink to much !

Good Morning , it is August 6 2006, had my Mother still been alive today she would be 80, Happy Birtday MOM
I didnt get a lot done this past week, to dammmmm hot, we had some 90+ days with high humidity & It was just miserable out side, heat index well over 100 , so I spent a lot of time in the Qtr.Deck with the a/c on full blast & a fine cigar in my hand . cant think of a better way to wait out the heat wave !
The eye is on the mend & I am getting antsy to get back out on my own & start to drive again, but with gas @ $3.00 + a gallon I dont know how much I will be going , "Back in My Younger days" I could fill my tank for 3 bucks , gas was under a Quarter a gallon , I dont know if any of you remember that time , or were even born yet hahahahaha ( maybe Docbarry might be an exception)
I switched to Comcast for my Phones, internet & TV , 99 Bucks a month for all 3 services, I was paying 10 bucks a month for dial up plus a second phone line , the satalight was 55 a month & so was the phone bill, now I have faster internet hook up, & the TV is ok, not much different from the dish I had but the phones keep cutting out, like a cell phone I keep loosing the caller for a few seconds to a few minutes , the service man has been here 5 times so far , almost everything has been replaces other than rewiring the entire house , it even cut out on the teck when he was calling the office, but no one seams to be able to find the problem, Im all in favor of saving money but I want the service to work , I might need to go back to my old phone company to get the unbroken service I was so accustomed to. BRING BACK MA BELL , so they had a monopoly , the service was top notch , & again for you young folks at one time the Major phone company in the USA / World was Bell telephone , aka AT&T, the anti trust people sued & made them split up the company , but it was a long time ago, like the 25 cents a gallon gas .

it looks like today will be a good day weather wise, so I might just break down & mak a pot roast today , it is Barbs Favorite & I havent made one in a long time so it looks like today will be the day .
I have the Kona brewing , the Sunday Paper is here & I am looking Fwd. for my Sunday Morning smoke , I think I will start the day with a Nicaro corona , & work my way through a vertical tasing of Tabacaleria Tropical products Condega next a Don Juan, after that a Cacique then a Lampera & finish the day with a Mombacho , & who knows what else I might smoke today , I have a feeling I might get into the Cubador & have a celebration cigar for my Mother . Again, Happy Birthday MOM,

Gooooooood Moooooorning cigar smokers , it is Sunday 13 August 2006, it is a wonderful morning here in da Burgh, it was a cool night dropped to 52 so said the weather man on the radio this morning, I slept like a log last night , went to sleep about 1 AM woke up just after 9 this morning , ahhhh that great country air living next to a cow pasture hahahahahaha , I made an asiago cheese omlet for the wife & myself this morning , nice & tangy a pot of Kona was brewed & I am finishing the last cup now , soon headed to the Qtr.Deck for a second pot of Kona & a Cacique Miami toro for my morning smoke . I went to PNC park last to the Montecristo club to watch the Pirates play the Cardinals, at the same time the steelers were on tv playing the cardinals , well the foot ball cardinals won & the base ball cardinals lost 3-2 , in what every one said was a great game, well i never left the lounge to see any of the game , , I hit the buffet for the watermelon & cheese & I did have a few artichokes , but I stuck to my guns 7 didnt over eat as i have a problem with serve your self, kind of things still, even though I have lost 202 pounds & went through all the problems I still love to eat & have to watch constantly & what I am eating or thinking of eating , so Last night I would say I did OK !
Last night was Ball cap night & a retro look for both teams the Pirates wore the old uniforms of the Homestead Grays a powerhouse team of the Old Negro league , at the heyday of the team they would have beaten the NY Yankees, I never got to see them play, but I have been told they were the best there ever was , Pittsburgh had 2 great teams in the league, the Crafords were also a great team, so now that the Pirates wore the uniform of the grays & won, maybe a little of Sachel Page's magic will stick with the down & out Buckos
I did get to see a lot of old friends & got to make a few new ones last night , I was able to enjoy a snifter of Laphroig 15 YO & some thing I had never noticed in the 15 YO befoire was a slight aroma of Rose , I dont think I have ever had that experence with the laphroig before , I was smoking a Trinadad Toro with it & sipping a LOUSY cup of coffee with grounds in it out of a paper cup, dammm that was depressing , almost 80 bucks for the ticket , a drink & cigar with the bufet are included , along with a life blues show after the game , BUT NO FRIGGING COFFEE, I had to go out of the club to a consession stand & pay 2.50 for a cup of luke warm Piss water coffee with grounds in it , other than the coffee it was a glorius night , over 35K at the ball park .
the grandsons were here Thursday & stayed over night, Chase the 10YO wanted to sleep in the Qtr.Deck so I got out the air mattress , & took his sleeping bag out & I made up the couch for my self, well I set the Tv to shut off in 60 minutes & we went to bed, I fell asleep before the TV shut off & when I woke up at 6:60 for my call of nature I could see he was not in his sleeping bag, I think maybe he had the call of nature him self & went in the house , So I get up & come in the batroom is empty, , now I am confused , where is the Grandson ?? I look in my room & there he is In my Bed sound asleep , the little PUNK got me outside in the Qtr.Deck sleeping on the couch & he sneeks back in the house & sleeps in MY BED !!! hahahahahaha smart little SOB !!!
well it is 11 am & I have a lot to do today, lets see , brew an other pot of coffee , dump the ashtrays in the Qtr.deck , pick out the music I will be listening to today , & figure out what cigars i will be smoking today, pluss I need to figure out what I am making for supper & get it cooked pluss i need to taste a little single malt this afternoon to rid my taste buds of the Finlandia Vodka we were served last night at the game, ahhhh maybe thats why I picked up the rose in the laphroig , I had a few sipps of the finlandia before I ate & there was a little bit left that I finished after we ate, but I had coffee & some fruit before I had the scotch, well what ever it was it was GOOD !
