what did you smoke? 2

I haven't tried a GOL yet, that is definately on my list. Last night I enjoyed a Camacho SLR Rothschild Tubo with the Colorado wrapper. That was a superb smoke. Unlike alot of other medium bodied cigars I enjoy, this one started deceptively mild and steadily built in flavor and complexity as it went. The construction was magnificent, the wrapper was super smooth and the burn was flawless. Very pleasant, I recommend this one when your in the mood for an easy smoking robusto. I have been leaning towards the maduros lately, but this natural has found its way into my rotation.

5/3, smoked a La Fontana Vintage. I dont typically smoke mild cigars but when I want one this is one of my go to cigars. Mild yet lots of flavor. They use a sweet gum to affix the cap which really takes the edge off the first inch. This one is definately below the radar. Highly recomend if you are looking for a light mornning smoke.

Didn't smoke yesterday, but today I had a cigar supposedly made from pre-embargo Cuban tobacco. I dunno if it was the "real deal" or not, but it was a STRONG sonofabeast.

I don't think I'll be getting anymore of these.

Today I also picked up a box of Cuesta-Rey Centenario No. 60 maduros and a single natural. I love the maduros, but I'm going to try the natural tomorrow.

had an opus x and an oliva master blends, both were very good.

Today I had and A.F. 858 maduro, exceptional as always. Being that today is Cinco de Mayo (never even knew this holiday existed when I was back east, but any excuse to go out to drink and smoke is a good one), I'll be taking a few cigars out with me tonight:

Cuesta-Rey Pyramid No. 9 maduro (thanks wolfdaddy for the maduro idea)
Cohiba XV550
Opus X robusto
Maybe a PAM Imperial or Torpedo

Enjoy your evening everyone!

Last night for Cinco de Mayo I smoked a Davidoff Millenium Churchill and a Diploma...Only two, as I am a little sick and had to take it easy!

This week for my ride to work I have been smoking AF Exquisitos. Nice short smoke. For the ride home I have had the Primeros Toro.

5/6 had some house brand from a shop in iowa. I am pretty sure tropical tobacco makes it. Corojo 99 wrapper. Not a bad cigar but overpriced. Tonight my lady and I are hitting 404 wine bar to split a bottle of wine here in chi town. I called twice to make sure they are cigar friendly. I hate calling a place and they say it is okay to smoke but when you get there it is a diffent story. That is why it has now come to me making multiple calls before selecting my cigar destination. Now I just have to decide what I am going to smoke. I am thinking about a c10 and a diploma. Can never go wrong with those. I have had a box each of davidoff millenium robustos and mellenium churchills aging in the humi for almost a year now. It is hard not cracking into them but I have read everywhere that they really get good after a few years so I am trying to keep the blinders on.

it was just a perfect day here in carbondale, had to be 72, clear skies...
i just kicked ass on a medieval art final, so decided to reward myself with a cohiba red dot robusto...
god it was good, smoked it til my fingers burnt...
and as i type this, im hittin on a bottle of makers mark...
it doesnt get much better than this

5/6 404 wine bar was interesting. kind of like a starbucks for wine. Not really my type of crowd but it was a nice place. Had a camacho corojo churchill and a c10 corona. Both excellent.

05/07/05-

Had a Padilla Hybrid Robusto today, reccomended by my local tobacconist. It's a damn good smoke, smooth, tasty, and medium to full in body. The flavor is very unique, never smoked anything quite like it before.

Had a quite night in - am on leave after some pretty hectic action we saw last week. Just spent the night with my girlfriend and enjoyed a lovely Diploma in front of the tv! Perfect! :)

Very nice day today. Poured a cognac, hit the lawn chair and fired up my first CAO Gold Corona......great cigar!! Started out a little on the mild side but after a quarter, developed a little character. good draw and a very even burn.....Tasty!!! An hour well spent to say the least.

Just fired up my grill for some steaks, grilled vegetables and some burgers for the neighbor's kids. It's 85 degrees and there is only a slight breeze today so I just poured a glass of Knob Creek my neighbor brought over and I'm gonna fire up a CAO Cameroon before dinner and maybe an Opus afterwards. The weekend is great!

had a fuente 858 natural, and a nicaro churchill. The nicaro needs some time to stabalize in my humi before i smoke another. It really struglled along.

another night out at the bars. My lady starts school again this week so this is our last weekend to go out and have fun. But soon I can call her doctor and quit my job to enjoy beers and cigars full time. :D

"Two Beers, or Not Two Beers.... what was the question?"

I will post my selected smokes in the morning.
