what did you smoke? 2

Bildo, I am about half way through a Cuban Parejo, different size from the one I sent you, but it seems like it needs a little rest. You may want to consider letting that one sit for a while.

Okay every cigar I smoked last night had a bad burn and I had to relight multiple times. I even was forced to throw away an Opus NO. 4

Here was the lineup: Diploma, Opus X No. 4, Ediccion de silvio robusto, Graycliff Crystal Chruchill

Today was a busy day with my mom and my grandmother from NY over for Mother's day so I was only able to make time for two smokes. The first was a Dominican Monte #2 and the other was an A.F. Añejo 46. The Añejo was great as always (I've yet to have one with an uneven burn), but the #2 was like puffing on air. I had this one in the humio for just over 2 years but it seemed like it was passed it's prime, if it ever had a prime  Hopefully some day soon I'll be able to have the other #2

Mac, aside from the burn problems, how was the Ediccion de silvio robusto?

Those montecristo dominicans all seem to taste the same to me. I dont think they have the balls of their cuban couterparts. The silvio is okay, in my opinion not worth the money. I bought a robusto five pack. When I first got them they were not very good at all. After 6 months they come into their own and they are nice, but like I said not necessarily worth the money. The wrapper is smooth and the cigar is made meticulously. It has a very slow burn which is also nice. If you get a chance you should try one, but hold off on buying any more than that. Even the one you need to let sit for a while.

Got home from work today thought about getting something done around the house, said the hell with it and spent an hour plus with a Torano Exodus 1959 Torpedo......damn good cigar!! Medium to full bodied, creamy, great draw. In my limited experience, one of the best I've had. Any thoughts on this cigar?

Edge by Rocky Patel Missle. I smoked both a natural and maduro. These things are hugely popular but I am not sure I see why. Lots of flavor but lacks complexity. Certainly no diploma. This cigar was very typical of a full on full bodied nicaraguan cigar.

Hoppy- I have not tried the torpedo but like the gran corona. I will have to give it a try.

i haven't smoked in two days. I better have time tomorrow

Has anyone tried the Cuban Label? It sparks my curiousity greatly. Since the real thing is "illegal" , im wondering if its a good imitation?

I have a hard time describing the taste of a cigar, trying to relate to flavors that come to my mind

CAO L Anniversaire Maduro - No. 4 Corona - Very good construction, easy draw, lots of thick smoke, burn was very even, smoked over a third of the stick before the ash fell, taste was excellent, maybe a little peppery, enjoyed the taste the wrapper left on my lips, aroma of the smoke was very nice

La Perla Habana Black Pearl Gran Robusto - Very good construction, good even burn, easy draw, lots of smoke, enjoyed the flavor, sort of woody or leathery with a hint of a spicy slightly sweet taste

Have more of each and will buy more in the future.

Does anyone make good cigars anymore? Okay I have started to settle into my favorites so I thoguht I would venture outside of the comfort zone and try some new things and old. Unfortunately I only smoked half of each because they were not very good.

Cigar 1. Teamo Toro Natural - awful. Not the full bodied teamo I remembered when I lit up my last one 10 years ago. No flavor, nasty taste.

Cigar 2. Teamo Toro Maduro - Better than the natural but still not implressed. Very stale tasting smoke.

Cigar. 3. Gurkha Symphony Maduro (Gold Label) - This one was the best of the three but was very blahhh. Nothing to write home about. Medium Bodied with a woody aroma.

I cant wait to get home to my diplomas. I fear however that diplomas will smell the stench of other cigars on me and I will have some explaining to do. It just knows when I have been with other cigars.

I thought the cuban label was very good. A nice surprise, especially for the price.

i have to agree with those three macallen. Teamo is made with weeds, not tobacco. At least thats my opinion.
Gurkha is far from impressive for me. If im going to pay in the teens for a stick ill just stick with an opus x or a padron 1926.

Just my pipe, mild tobacco

Its nice sitting outside viewing the Alaskan Mountains while puffing on a nice tobacco

Now Im topping it off with two cheeseburgers :D

5/10 2 More sticks

Hoyo de Nicaragua Antano - Nice pleaseant surprise. It has been a while since I had a hoyo de nicaragua. Lots of flavor.

Cusano C10 Robsuto- Usually love this thing but had it after some buffalo wings. I should have known those would mess up my palate.

Yesterday I had a Chateau Fuente sungrown and ended the evening with a Davidoff Aniversario #3 Tubos. Then I had to pick up some friends from Europe from the airport at 1:30 am and did not return home until 3:30. I woke up this morning at 10:30 with a Padron Churchill maduro and lots of coffee.

Got back from Tikrit last night @ 0400 hours to find my £600.00 worth of cubans waiting for me. Was too tired to even look at them, but tonight I've got them in the humidor and I'm just smoking an incredible Partagas Series D #4 robusto - WOW

This cigar is smooth as silk. They have a real rich complexity about their flavour and ooze that Partagas 'thing'! The smoke is amazingly thick and the ash clings on for dear life. Sorry for banging on, but WOW! :)

had a cusano C18 and a don carlos. The c18 was very peppery and not what i expected. maybe i just had it too dry or something. i would say the first 2 inches were very very peppery with lots of tounge bite.

you thought the c18 was peppery? thats very odd, i think they are very very smooth.

i have 3 or 4 more, and it may have just been not ready to smoke. It was far from what i expected after seeing creamy in every review. it must have been dry.
