What Did You Smoke Today

Por Larranaga Figurado after dinner tonight. I bought it at a local high end liquor store just about an hour before smoking it, had a fair amount of either plume or mold on it (I am seriously hoping plume) and was a little soft, too much humidification I beleive but...

This was a dynamite cigar, quite possibly the smoothest smoke I have ever had, nice medium body, somewhat buttery taste that vanished at the end replaced by a mildly nutty taste, a couple minor burn issues at the start but those went away fast. I am not a big fan of mild cigars but this was the goods, I would definitely buy these up in quantity if i could find more. Three thumbs up on this cigar.

A Camacho rep visited the local shop today for the monthly "event", so naturally I had to show up. I was hoping for a sample of something with their new Corojo maduro wrapper, but alas the rep didn't have any... not even one for the manager. On the up side, they were offering free cigars on top of any you bought, so I picked up a bunch of Camachos. I burned through a Camacho Havana & a Camacho Corojo while I was there. Now I'm at home enjoying a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992. I know this may sound odd, but I always seem to enjoy a RP Vintage more after having at least a couple other sticks before it.

Yesterday I smoked a CAO Brazilia Piranha while mowing the lawn and a CAO Maduro Rothschild last night. Both cigars were full of flavor and very satisfying.

today

In my usual position out on my front porch taking the dogs out I had a RYJ Delux Cedros #2......first for me and it was uterley fantasic...smoked it to the nub...had it with a cup of fresh roasted ISOM Turquino coffe which was fantastic

Stick

RP Vintage 1992 Toro after breakfast, Partagas Black Clasico after lunch, La Aurora 1495 Corona after dinner and I just finished an ERDM Choix Supreme (not lifted from Kelvin or BarcoChris!) for a late night smoke. I ate four great meals today, smoked four equally great cigars and got to hang out with some dear friends.

What to say? I am a fortunate guy, life is good. 8)

RP Olde World Reserve Prototype toro. It was the last blend before the production one.

I got off work at 12:30 or so, came home, burned the latest(?) Blowin Smoke, and headed outside. Threw the CD in, and began relaxing.

Prelight was rich and a liitle earthy. The cap was perfect and the construction and press were flawless. I Thought it would be spicy at first and upon lighting was proven very right. Lots of pepper right away.

That mellowed out quickly though into a creamy sort of oaky flavor. After that I relaxed a little too much and didn't try and discern anything. Nothing hit me anyway and it turned out to be rather one dimensional. Bot bad but not up to par with the awesome first one I had. I probably won't touch these for at least another 6 months.

Either way, after my night at work, it was still a great hour and a half to come home to.

I just finished an Edge - now I know why I like maduro so much - a great cigar from start to finish, heh, heh, heh.

I have a few cigars to report on.

First of all a couple of cigars that Bikeman sent me. The first one was a Flor De A. Allones (i think thats what it was called) and it was an awesome lil smoke. A true "firecracker" as bikeman correctly identified it.

A couple days ago I smokes that oneoff cigar w/ a glass of rum and coke. It was a great smoke that I tried to nub. I got so caught up in the moment that when it was getting low I wasn't paying too much attention to it and it went out. So I settled for a semi-nub, as I would have rather ended on that note istead of burning my fingers and nose or whatever trying to relight it LOL :D

Then last night I smokes a Nestor's Reserve Maduro while hanging out w/ a buddy of mine. It was a great experience. The company you're in make the cigar that much better.

I also picked up some Cusanos and a CAO Italia, dont know if Im going to smoke them or send them off in a PIF package. I mean since ive already tried them and I have a great PIF from bikeman of cigars that I have never tried. :) thx again bikeman, you're a class act.

Oh man, that was a long post. Keep on smokin' guys, catch ya later.

Friday, I had a Monte #4 from '05. It started out a bit harsh but mellowed out 1/4 the way down. Tons of smoke from this little cigar.

Saturday, I went with a friend of mine to a new cigar lounge in Tucson. They actually had an alright selection of smokes for sale. They had this beautiful Carlitos God of Fire humidor for only $5,000. I didn't get it because I just don't have the room for it oh, and because it's $5,000!

I had a San Cristobal de la Habana El Principe from '01. Wow! I couldn't put this cigar down. I sipped a couple of Highland Scotch whiskeys. First, Oban 14 year. Then, Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish. Very nice.

Just finished a relaxing smoke with a beverage.

I'm trying to smoke down my stock to make room for some new inventory. Anyone have "mystery" smokes in the Humi? Well, so do I!
So, tonight I selected a medium colorado wrapped cigar, let's say lonsdale sized, no band. I poured a small glass of Elijah Craig 18 year old single barrel bourbon to go with it. ( I don't know if Bloofy will approve...) This is a bottle I've had for some time (it's back label tells me it was bottled 2-28-1980), and I visit it's contents infrequently, so it got the nod for tonights' maneuvers.
The smoke was pleasant, I picked up some toasted nut flavors, along with a light spice, and a mineral flavor. The bourbon to me was a flavor bomb, with a lot of orange peel/citrus, caramel, and some hard candy.
All in all a good night with a "blind date" smoke....

too bad I can't remember her "name", lol

I smoked a bunch of nice cigars in vegas. This was the big test for my travel humi too. Once I got the excess moisture out it held great humidity for the whole trip.

I smoked:
Punch Gran Puro
Punch Churchill '00
Monty White
Monty #4 '01
Fuente Anejo
AVO XO

I smoked a Perdomo Lot 23 cigar. I guess it came out relatively recently. It was a pretty decent medium cigar and it was a pretty decent price. I've smoked better but not bad for the price. Anyone else try one? Also, I saw a Rocky Patel Old World Reserve (I think that's what it's called.) It's got what looks like a band around the bottom of the cigar that can supposedly be smoked. Has anyone heard of this cigar? It looks great but a little pricier than other Rocky Patel cigars.

Yesterday I smoked a Rocky Patel Edge Lite and a C.A.O. Black.

Tonight I had an MX2.

I picked up one of the Rocky Patel Olde World Reserves the other day. It was rather pricey so I don't think they'll become a regular for me. I'll let it sit in the humi for a while before I fire it up.

Perdomo La Tradicion Cabinet Series - Exclusivo

One of my regular smokes. Always a good way to end a tough day.

Opus X #5. I thought to myself, "Self, there is no reason to fear this tiny cigar". Then I lit it and WOW it kicked my butt! Awesome flavor and great smoke. What a blend!

Yesterday I had a Juan Lopez petit corona, whilst I pondered what to do about my mysteriously non-functional airconditioner at home. Getting it repaired today. It's only 105 here in the afternoons, so it could be worse.

Topped off a warm evening with a Romeo y Julieta Cazadores.

Both cigars were very nice, despite the ... warmth.

It's currently 6 am(ish), 90 degrees or so in the house, and it's too early and too warm to smoke anything. Maybe tonight, after the A/C is back.
