What Did You Smoke Today

I just finished a nice Graycliffe 99 courtesy of my brother Kev, a very nice milder cigar, with a fine finish, and good spice at the end.

Thanks Kev!!

in addition to the #3 cigar in the blind taste test, i smoked a camacho havanna petit. This is the one that was a one day deal a few weeks ago.

i like the camacho havanna line to begin with but with the small ring and the 8 YEARS of age on em they are even better. I found it to be earth nutty and very robust. the pepper mellowed from the fresh ones. Its very light and even more complementary.

i may have to buy another box.

Smoked a Cohiba XSV650 on the way in to work last night. i dont know what happed but that Cigar was a dog rocket. Not like a Cohiba but very much like a counterfeit.

An Up note though. My daughter just called me and said my shipment of Ghurka Centurian X's are at the front door.

Don Pepin Garcia Black Figurado. Started horribly, burn was way off and the wrapper cracked a little. Two inches in and it settled down burn and tastewise. Not a bad cigar, reminds me of the Joya de Nicaragua Antano series a little. Thats a good thing.

Edit: This thing just mellowed dramatically. It's almost like two cigars got rolled into one and i just got to the second. Quite nice, three inches of hellfire and it's now creamy and smooth.

Sneaked another one in after supper, a very nice Comacho Corojo, an excellent smoke to end the day!

Gurka vintage. very smooth and mild. need more of these.

I picked up a 5 pack of these about 2-3 weeks ago. I would say it's my favorite Gurkha yet, and I will definitely stock the humidor with some more.

I just finished a CI Legends Orange (Rocky Patel), a very nice milder afternoon smoke!

Smoked a Ghurka Centurian XX on the way into work today. Definately got "wowed" by this one. Smoked cool all the way down to the nub. Very flavorfull with the teeniest bit of spice at the half way point. The aroma of the smoke had the slightest hint of honey. Loved every minute.

Last night I smoked a Cohiba Piramide EL 2006. The first third was okay with toasted nuts and mild chocolate flavors. The cigar then became much better with cream and chocolate flavors throughout. The last third was pretty flat. I'll put these away for 2 or 3 years and revisit them. These are definitely not up to par with the Sublime.

Last night I had a Padilla Miami Belicoso Fino while sitting out back by the fire. Very nice evening.

Synchronicity Dennis, thats the same cigar I smoked last night. Great smoke, only complaint is the thinness of the wrapper.

I enjoyed a La Aroma de Cuba churchill. Loved it. Great smoke.

I just finished trying to smoke two cigars. First was a C.com label Cuban label. A good cigar, but I did not like it - it was a little bitter.

Then I moved to the Flor de Oliva that we talked about last night - gave up on it, it was too tightly plugged. Last, I finished the CI Legends Orange that I started yesterday - finally one I could enjoy!

There you go brothers.

I have been smoking a Vegas 5 Series "A" Apocalypse for about an hour and 1/2. Very good smoke but it is a monster. Great flavors, only a couple of burn issues, great stick for golf, or if you have plenty of time to smoke. I still have probably 2" left. I would give it a 4 out of 6

Last night I had a '98 ERDM Lonsdale. Dark flavours in a smooth delivery with a full mouth feel. The draw got kinda tigh as the cigar progressed so I have to revisit the rH in my cooler. It might be too high as I have been having draw issues lately.

Short Story this morning before I head into work. I'll be working a swing shift today because the restaurant managers booked several very large parties for the cafe instead of sending them to the banquet dept. Throw in Memorial Weekend and we're in for a busy Saturday.

I have a Diplomaticos Nº2 lined up for after work.
