What Did You Smoke Today

Smoked a Gurkha East India Trading Co. Natural Churchill. Very nice smoke. I need to smoke another 2 or 3 to judge it completely.

Last night - An AF 858 that Trent sent me.
Today - Cohiba Black and a Punch Rare Corojo.

The AF 858 was the best of the 3 and a good smoke.
Punch - 2nd best but not up to the hype I've heard.
Cohiba Black - unimpressive to say the least, especially considering the price. The CAO Brazilia and Partagas Black Label are both better IMHO and 1/3 the price.

None of these will be replacing my 5 Vegas A or Miamis anytime soon, although I will definitely work the AF into my rotation.

I'm convinced that you pay an extra percentage for the Cohiba name. Happens in other industries, why not cigars.

smoked a Cusano c10 corona tonight. Beautiful construction and great tabacco flavor. Im starting to enjoy smaller ring cigars a nice change from the 50 plus rings

Had a La Aurora Preferidos Ecuador Sun Grown at a nice lounge here in Phoenix that Craig recommended to me. Not as good as the Cameroon but quite possibly the best of the limited Sun Growns I've tried. A bit of an uneven burn but it paired up nicely with a Booker's. I've got to try the Ashton VSG next.

I had a RyJ Aniversario Torpedo. This is the third time I have had this cigar and I always say "Man thats a good cigar". Super smooth with only 4 weeks in the humi. It has a nice med body that gets a hint of spice in the last third. It was my only one but I think I'm getting a box. Does cigar.com carry stix not listed on thier site, I wonder.

El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme

Great smoke with hints of Honey and Vannila throughout. Just enjoyed it from begining to end!!

That sounds good. Any idea how much one of those sticks would run me? I'm rather broke right now, but I could swing a couple bucks for something like that. :D

Cohiba Siglo VI...just packed with flavors: honey, cedar, chocolate, vanilla. A great cigar, and very big.

4/6 smoke rings on this one.

I've been wanting to try that one Chris. I've still got a Cohiba Esplendido left in the humi and plan on try the Siglo IV after I fire it up.

This morning I had a Rocky Patel Connecticut with some coffee and I just finished a Monte Media Noche w/a Guinness. Time to get some results on UFC 74 which I was reluctant to rent since I'm not terribly interested in any of the fights except for Couture's. Unfortunately I think the guy is gonna get his bell rung early. Gonzaga is one bad mofo, and I don't want to pay to see The Natural end up flat on the canvas.

Sorry, this post is off topic, but much to my and many other's amazement, Randy stops Gonzaga in the 3rd round. This guy is 44yrs old and almost seems unbeatable! Think I need to fire up a good ISOM in celebration.

Today was a good day for cigars. I started with a 5V Gold with some coffee this morning, then a Monte White after lunch (a very good cigar) and after dinner, a Cohiba Robusto out back under the stars with a Guinness while the lady had a glass of Cabernet Blanc. The 5V is a 3 star (I like all the other 5V better but it makes a great morning stick with coffee). The Monte White is a solid 4 stars, and the Cohiba had a slight canoeing problem, but earned 4 stars as well.

Last night I had a AF Anejo #77 WOW WHAT A CIGAR !
Smoother then I expected, and the burn was perfect.
Then I smoked what is becoming my goto favorite, CAO Itallia.

5 Vegas Nuggets

Just got a (neat-looking) box of 5 Vegas Gold Nuggets. These are beautifully made 4.5 X 44 30-minute cigars. A very spicy start is quickly replaced by silky mellow goodness, which richens through to the nub. Lots of smoke for such a small stick, and a white-gray ash just like the big ones. As I expected, they aren't quite so mild as the larger Golds, which may be a Good Thing. I rate them up there with the (discontinued?) Perdomo Cabinet Series of the same size. Really! WooHoo! :D

I had a rare double-cigar weekend. Saturday afternoon I smoked an RP Olde World Maduro. An absolute fantastic cigar. If I could afford to, I'd smoke one every day. Possilbly the very best maduro I've ever had in my humi.

Sunday afternoon I smoked a Cusano Corojo 97. An excellent cigar that I've smoked very many of. Always consistent in its excellent construction, quality and taste. One of my all-times favs.

I tried a CAO Brazilia tonight that a brother was kind enough to send me...what a great smoke!

You should have bought the PPV, as it was well worth it. Randy took all the fight out of Gonzaga in a hurry. The next event in two weeks is free on Spike though, so don't miss that.

Today I smoked an H. Upmann Connoisseur #1 from 2001. It was a great cigar with my only complaint being some burn issues. Check out my review in the Reviews and Ratings thread.

Had a little R&J tonight, watched they yanks, and enjoyed a couple glasses of Familia Cara chianti riserva '03. Turned out to be a nice pairing.

5 Vegas Series "A" Anomaly

Friday night is movie night with the lady, so I don't have the time for a 1 or 1.5 hour smoke as I normally do (banned from smoking inside) so I've picked up some smaller sizes to get a quick smoke in. Tonite I had a 5 Vegas "A" Anomaly and what a great, tasty little smoke this is. It packs much more flavor in that little ring gauge than the huge Apocalypse, and plenty of smoke on the draw to boot. I also bought the same size in the Miami and have had a box of Gold Nuggets which I've almost gone through (they're all the same size). About the only bad thing I can say about this cigar is it doesn't last long enough
There's an easy fix to that though. I'll just light up another! Maybe the lady won't notice. It would be great if they'd come out with a panetela size like the classic line has. These little suckers are great!
