What Did You Smoke Today

Smoked a Carlos Torano Cameroon 1916. This stick was great! It had a slow and even burn with a taste of coconut and spice, and a cedary finish.

Speaking of Cohiba, let me know what you think of that fake siglo V I left you.

Are you sure it is fake, cause if it is, I'll smoke it when I get home. If it is real, I'll save it for when I can enjoy it.

I smoked a Punch Rothschild while I sat in the shade of an oak tree and studied for Political Theory.

Has to do with your smoking style... ie how fast you draw, how often, the ash... I've learned some cigars can be completely diifferent depending on how you smoke it.

I had a Ghurka Grand Reserve Churchill. It had such an intoxicating aroma and taste I had to pitch it halfway. Almost a berry flavor. Just nasty. I didn't mind them previously but uggghh.

:bigpuke:

i had a cao brazilia. i love those things but i just dont have much luck with them burning right. i did invent a neat way to stop runs though. when a cigar starts runnin in one spot i wet it with a couple droplets of beer. straightend right out!

Went out during lunch to the park with my friend and his two labs. We had Peros Indios Especial. They were very nice. It was such a beautiful day I hated to go back to work.

Yesterday was a good day of golf - 4 sticks!

Started the morning with a Cusano 18 Robusto - great with coffee before teeing off.

Went to a Don Diego Anniversario on the front 9 - needs some time in the humidor - nice tight little draw - pretty mellow and good flavor.

At the turn - a Vintage 90 by Rocky Patel - the cap fell apart but very smooth and mellow - gonna try one in a torpedo shape.

Back 9 - Punch Rare Corojo Pita.

Overall a very enjoyable smoking day. I am picking out my sticks for a quick trip to FLA - I am thinking about the Ashton Maduro from Wolfy and a bunch from USMC 6672. Scott - any suggestions?

I will pack those for sure then. Ahhhh - a whole 3 days of being able to smoke cigars in peace!

Smoking a Rocky Patel 90 that I received from Kelvin, while thinking about how early I got to wake up in the morning to go to work!!!!

Kelvin, where in FL are you going? If you're coming close enough to me maybe we could hook up for a smoke.

Hey Wolfy:

Unfortunately I will be way north of you - about 80-90 minutes north of Tampa. Where are you in South Florida? Would love to share a smoke with you sometime.

- Kelvin

I'm on the east coast, directly across the state from Tampa...about three hours away.

Next time down Wolfy - I will make a trip out that way. I'm only in town for 3 days and one of those nights I have to see my cousin in Sarasota.

I can see myself having a smoke under a palm tree - listening to some Jimmy Buffett - hey, what do you want - I'm a parrothead!

I am looking forward to trying that Ashton Maduro my man.

Rocky Patel Vintage 1992. Wasn't too impressed but have heard good things so will try again. Was very bland and no complexities that I like in my smokes. The 1990 I had was very nice and smooth throughout. Oh well.

Little later I had a Diploma Natural. Once again very bland. Burned hot and tasted a little harsh.

Maybe just an off day...

quagmire: I wasnt impressed by the '92 either. the 1990 is fantasic for a mild smoke, though.

Yesterday i had a Padon, which was great, and a Gurkha, which was very great ;)

Today i had another Anchient Warrior, which is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'm still really new to the whole cigar thing, so my favorites keep changing! For now, though, my go-to sticks are: Ancient Warrior, Padron, *ANYTHING* that says CAO on it ;) and Ashtons (standard ashtons are great, the VSGs are fantasic when my wallet's getting a little too thick!)
