What Did You Smoke Today

DOH - must find my own cuban source...for their sandwiches of course...mmm... cuban sandwiches are tasty though - I'm getting hungry already

I had two Fuente Corona Imperials left in the humidor so my buddy and I sat out in the shade and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon after we both had tests in the morning. I have another test this afternoon, so the stress has already returned, however. This weekend Ill be heading home to the mountains to be able to spend some time in the creek fly fishing. Should be a good weekend . . .

Chris :D

At Dinner Last Night I Had:

1: Unbanded by Caribe Pretty Good
2: Cuban Machine Made, Forgot the Name - Also Good
3: Cusano C10
4: Camacho SLR Maduro Toro
5: Camacho Corojo Monarcha
6: Camacho SLR Maduro
7: El Cobre Torpedo

Great steak, great smokes, great company. :D

Chris, I am right there with ya. I am heading up to Northern Michigan Tomorrow morning. Trout fishing in the Little Manistee in the morning, and Partridge hunting in the afternoon. I sure I will enjoy many great smokes with my cousin. As Macallan will tell ya, His dogs are awesome!! Tight lines my friend!!!

I'm sure it was good company considering you were with Christian!!

Alex, you and Thor ended up getting a humidor space at Sullivan's, didn't you? That's a really cool place...next time I'm up there I'm gonna stay for more than one night and we must pay a visit there.

Last night I had an Ashton Aged Maduro #20 and an 858 maduro.

VSG......

Although I can't smoke em every day, I love a good VSG. I have been really lucky to find them in stock ussually.
My advise: If you haven't tried one, do it today!

Here here on the vsg.

Wolf, yes thor and i went 50/50 on a humidor there. Best investment ever. We have been there a ton.

C10 Corona

Fuente Exquisitos maduro. I love these. This is going to have to be my next box as soon as I scrape together enough. I'm broke now after the charity smoke I went to last weekend.

Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver. My first but definitely not last. Verrry mild. So mild I couldn't even distinguish flavors. In the top five now I think.

Had a delectable Partagas Black Label - very nice smoke - not quite as good as the Vegas A from last week though.

I agree, that Vegas A was mighty tasty.

Started off the day with a Short Story and coffee.
Then I headed over to Berkeley to hang with my bro. We went to see a movie then went to a French Bistro for dinner. I requested patio seating so I can enjoy a post dinner cigar. I ordered items off the menu which I have already created in class. I'm happy and sad to say that I make them better...happy because I feel confident that I have what it takes, and sad because the check was on me
After the meal I had a couple glasses of Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny Port (I can't wait till I have my own place and can charge these "by the glass" prices  ), and I fired up an Opus Perfecxion No. 2 which had a couple years of age on it. I wish it would have burned forever as it only had to be relit once, and seemed to make the world slow down for 1 1/2 hours.

Last night we threw a wedding shower for another couple and had a mexican theme. 40 or so people, a professional margarita machine, lots of corona, mexican food, pinata, etc. It was a real blast. I pulled out the good stuff since I wont smoke for the next 10 days leading upo to my life insurance physical.

Started: Hemmingway between the lines. Decent cigar but more of a novelty.

Next: Opus Double Corona, good cigar. Just picked up a 93 rating in CI. Good cigar but I dont know about a 93. Mine was a little to wet and had major burn problems

Finished: with a God of Fire by Carlito. What a great cigar that was. Very earth and rich aroma. Lots of hints of leather over spice. Nice texture and beautiful sungrown wrapper. When I come accross some for reasonable prices, I will be sure to pick some up.

Sol Cubano maduro... SWEET FANCY MOSES! that think kicked the crap outta me. Strongest cigar I've had but smooth despite it. Wasn't harsh at all. Had a little bit of a spicy aftertaste but not unpleasant.

Fuente Exquisitos maduro. I can't get enough of these!

Now you really have me wanting a GOF!! So nothing special about the BTL, eh? Guess mine will remain novelties as well.

9/25

Went to watch Football with Calibus. I was happy...he was pissed.
Started off with a Cuaba Generosos which was medium-bodied and had a perfumed aroma with a different but pleasing taste than I'm used to in a Cuban.
Next up was the required Short Story, which was great as always.
Followed that one with a CAO Black Mosaic, nothing special, but a good smoke nonetheless.
After my Cowboys won and I was able to breathe again, I celebrated with a Fuente 858 Sungrown...WOW...if only these weren't so hard to come by :(
Ended the evening with a Monte #4, which was perfect.

9/26

Too busy for a cigar today (studying for a tomorrow's midterm, Thursday's and Friday's finals, as well as a 10 page paper on nutritional analysis due on Thursday), but I did manage to smoke my pipe packed with a Davidoff English mix.

Started out with a Griffins 300 in the morning before the golf started - then had a Cusano 18 Robusto on the front nine - that was pretty nice.

Then the back nine - a Camacho that I received from Wolfy - that was an OUTSTANDING smoke. Wolfy - what one was that - it was kick ass.

Had a very hectic day in the kitchen this morning.
Although, for entertainment one of the students who has
no business being there thought he was a sushi chef and
managed to shave the skin off of two knuckles :duh:

After class I needed to clear my mind to prepare for part 1
of my kitchen final tomorrow as well as my nutrition certification...
ended up smoking a RASS for this purpose and it was awesome. So glad I have a box of these on the way

I was lucky enough to have a free afternoon today, so I lit up an El Rey del Mundo Robusto. Its been a while since Ive smoked one of these, but it wont be long until my next. Lasted almost an hour, real clean white ash, lots of smoke. It didnt hold the ash quite as nicely as others but it was a good smoke for the money.

Chris

So how was the trout fishing this weekend Chris? The Chinook are starting to run up at our place on the Betsie. Nice healthy hens!
