What Did You Smoke Today

Yesterday I smoked

1. La Aurora 1495 Corona: What a great cigar. I gave it a 91. Amazing flavor or cocoa and espresso with a brisk finish and medium body. I highly recommend.

2. Vegas Robaina Unicos- Great torpedo. Reminded me of the way the Monte No 2 used to taste back in 1996. I have not had one of these since 2002, so it was a welcome smoke last night as I celebrated valentines day with the wife.

Today:

1. Padron 1964 Natural Imerial. These babies have about 24 months on them. They are much better with age.

Today I had a PSD4. Yowza! Very nice cigar...I must get more of these.
I know! They're soooo good.

This morning I brewed up some peaberry coffee with the French Press and smoked a Hemingway Best Seller. It was a lovely morning.

I'm smoking a REO by Rocky Patel Chairman. This is my first and I love the 58 ring. It's a cool smoke with a nice strong flavor.

I smoked a Montecristo White this evening.... Very nice mild cigar.
Milder and not as flavorful as the Platinum, but OOHH SOOOO smooth! Perfect burn, all the way to the nub (this is a rarity for me)

For the ride home today I have a Padron 2000 maduro. You know of all of the Padron stuff I have bought in the last 6 months (almost a box worth), this is the first time I will smoke one. I usually give them out in PIF or box passes. I can't wait.

this evening I had a c.com cuban label torpedo...I think these are a little loose in their construction, but they taste so good! One of my favorite low $ smokes.

I also had a 5 Vegas classic Panatela (a freebie from [email protected], thank you very much!) I was surprised by this cigar, it was fuller bodied then I expected, Not overly strong, but I guess I just didn't expect much from this long skinny stick :) very nice smoke.

Double Chateau Fuente maduro

ended up cutting about an inch off the head to avoid a plug....had some serious draw issues but ended up being very tastey and spicey.....stick had a beautifull oily sheen to it

Its been a love/hate thing with the double chateaus...just for that reason...either they smoke great or they don't draw at all. I've been smoking the sungrown...I think I'm going to go back to the chateau fuentes...always a good draw.

Last night my wife met me out at the Chophouse cigar lounge after her meeting. I smoked a GREAT Diamond Crown Robusto #3. Fantastic cigar, close to the best I have ever had. I started with a glass of Glenlivet 18, but switched to port when I found the scotch tried to over power the cigar.

Alex, are these the ones that you said were past their prime? If That cigar was this great now, I could only imagine what it used to be.

Ya I let that box sit a bit too long. Remember Capt, that is just based on my preference. Glad you liked it. Behold the power of aging.

This morning I smoked K. Hansotia X3 Triple Ligero. It had a nice oily sheen to the wrapper and what I smoked of it was pretty good. That being said, I had trouble with the wrapper cracking and finally had to abandon it half way through. (I must interject that this was the first time I had tried the "pinch" method of cutting this cigar, and I started the crack in the wrapper)

I handed out a few of these before i had the chance to try one myself. I can't remember who all I sent them to, but i would be curious to hear what others thought of it.

3 smokes today

1. Perdomo Edicion de Silvio Cameroon Keeney: Rated 26. Dry and slightly chalk texturre. Medium bodied witha slight cinnimon spice aroma. A rich and pleasant flavor on the nose but I did not care for the finish. This cigar could be better balanced

2. Carlos Torano Virtuoso Torpedo: Could not rate it. Spicy and full bodied cigar aitha chewy texture. A powerhouse with a moderate finish. Could not smoke much of the cigar due to a soft wrapper that created construction problems.

3. Litto Gomez Diez Americano: Rated 89. Firm cigar witha moderate draw and burn. Medium to full bodied with a very oily wrapper. It appeared most of the flavor here came off the wrapper. Toasty through the nose with hints of bread. On the palate was ceder and earth tones. Somewhat exotic taste. Would age well.

a little late but saturday i smoked a flor dominacana 60 ring gauge cigar i forgot which one but that knocked me on my ass then a little while after that i smoked a carlos torano signature seemed excellent but couldnt pick up on all the flavors due to the dominicana kicking my ass but both excellent i also picked up a flor dominicana lancero currently only available at 7 cigar shops in the US was origanaly Lito gomez's personal blend but was excellent that he made it public only 500 sticks made a month i believe

Partagas Black Lable Magnifico (I think) courtesy of BP. Was very very nice. Medium full. Peppery aroma throughout. Enjoyed this cigar very much. I'm gonna have to get a few more of these and some 5 Vegas A's for a thourough comparison before I get a box but I'll definitely be getting more even if I decide on the A's. Thanks BP, I probably never would have tried this had you not sent it.

Yesterday had a Cusano Corjo 1997 vintage robusto much deserved well relaxing

Smoked a Cusano 18 paired maduro last night. I am working a 48 hour shift today and Saturday, so far I have only smoked some CAO Blue Note out of my Castello pipe.
