What Did You Smoke Today

This weekend, the beer and friend and I brewed was finally ready to drink. We celebrated with a home brew and a Monte #4 ISOM. I finished that with a La Aurora Preferido Red, and another home brew. I smoked some Dunhill Early Morning Pipe out of a Savinelli Sea Rock pipe this morning, along with a great Kauai Peaberry coffee.

Beautiful day today! Was able to smoke a cigar while relaxing on the patio after work this evening...feels like SPRING!

Had my first Cusano Corojo 1997 toro. Wonderful cigar. It had not been in my humi for too long, but felt great, so I lit it up, and it smoked and burned very nicely. Strange thing though... the smoke felt almost damp in my mouth...If it had not burned so evenly I would have thought it just needed to rest longer, I don't know...anyone else notice this with these, or is it just me? Either way, this one moves onto the must buy more list!!

Macanudo? I guess we all have to try it at least once in our lifetime.

The Macanudo I had was a Gold Label Duke of York. So bland. No depth or flavor. But it DID burn evenly with a smooth draw.

And yes, that was my first and last mac also.

Today, I called in sick for work since our project is officially over. Needed some rest time and to celebrate.

Lit up a Punch Gran Puro Rancho, 5.5 x 54.
Pre-lit aroma was wonderfully meaty. Construction was flawless. Contours of the dark wrapper veins was even throughout the entire body. Took a while to light up the foot properly. Once lit, the flavor was mild and calm. Smoke was like small cotton clouds. Flavors started to come through as spice with a kick. Halfway, my head started to feel as though I was floating with the smoke. The strength continued to increase to a full-bodied entity by the mid-way point of the stick. From there, it became a steady intensity of creamy cinnamon sticks in dark "Vietnamese" strong coffee (those coffee that's made in one of those single-serving press thing). The smoke was very gratuitous with every puff. Ash was tight, but a little flakey. It held on for about 1-1.5", until it fell (in my lap). Burn was consistent and never was out of sync. Draw was smooth and effortless. I was only able to smoke it to the band, as I was feeling really light-headed.

All in all, the Punch Gran Puro Rancho was a great smoke. Next time I'll have to eat a bigger/fuller lunch before taking on this cigar again. I'm still light-headed as I write this.

Twice...

I have a sickness in that when somebody says a cigar is bad I have to try it. WHY??!!! WHY DO I DO THIS??!!!

Well I know why.

Yes, from a Punch Gran Puro. I was surprised myself, as I've had stronger cigars in the past.

Got off work at 2:00pm today. Sat on the couch, rum and coke in hand, lit up an El Rico Habano maduro. Very tasty. Slight burn issue but nothing that could not be handled. Think after dinner I'll have a Saint Luis Ray. Can't wait

Smoked a little Habanos Belinda as I went for a little walk tonight. Very nice, lots of smoke, lots of flavor, and even managed a fairly even burn even though I was walking with it.

A very nice little cigar indeed.

Tonight I had a 5 Vegas "A" torpedo. Awesome as always. But I had a cigar last night that absolutely blew me away. It was an H. Upmann #2.

This cigar was a nice light milk chocolate in color, with few veins. Prelight draw was very nice. It gave me a nice hint of tobacco flavor. Before I lit up, I wasn't entirely sure it was a real Habano, but my fears were quickly dispelled upon lighting. The first few draws just exploded with that rich flavor that only a fine Habano can produce. As I smoked it down, I noticed a variety of subtle flavors underneath that Habanos flavor. A light nutty flavor was present throughout, and I also detected a bit of cedar. The aroma yeilded a nice caramel and maybe a little cream along with the nuttiness. The ash also held on very well for a good two inches. About halfway through the cigar it got a little bit peppery, and still with the nuts and caramel, and I think I may have even tasted just a tiny bit of coffee. I was sad to see the end of this cigar.

All in all, this was an excellent smoke that I will definitely buy again, and I think it's one that everyone should try.

Smoked an AF double chateau sungrown last nite...

as I've said before...too tight of a draw...but a great blend.

The chateau fuente sungrown is a much better draw....

Cusano Corjo 1997. I loved this cigar, Great smoke, great flavor, I tried to pic out some of the flavors but I would have a hard time to describe it. I tasted almost a woody spiceness if that makes any sense.. I like it so much that I orderd another 5 for C.Com this morning

In the last couple of days ive had a few different sticks.

c.com purple label- all ive got to say on this is mmmmmm. Loved the flavor and i will be buy a box of these as and everyday. Great burn and easy draw.

c.com Cameroon - was ok but not i didnt get a lot out of it. Gonna try it again.

Pueblo Dominicano- Great smoke could probably be better cause the one i had was a little dry. Great aroma. Seemed to be medium bodied. I really enjoyed the flavor.

It was an H. Upmann #2.

A fine cigar indeed. Wolf this is my favorite cigar available right now. I have been a longtime fan ever since I smoked my first one. Now I keep what is left of my box tucked away for special occassions. I put the H. Upmann No. 2 before a Cohiba.

I do too. I've only ever had one Cuban Cohiba and I was not very impressed.

I gotta get back to Chicago and force you to break out your box. It would be somewhat of a special occasion, wouldn't it?

Last night I had an A. Fuente Anejo that was gifted to me and which I believe was a #48. This was my first experience with this line, and I was not disappointed. Two and a half hours of smoking pleasure!

Last night I had a Monte. #4. What a great smoke! Nice construction even though the cap was a little rough. Nice medium brown color. Very flavorful with a hint of pepper. Couldn't put this one down.

mmm....Monte #4s are awesome

I had a Partagas Lonsdale last night, but it was only so-so, I'm afraid.
