I am just starting to pick flavors out of cigars. what did you get from this one,[/quote]

I got a good taste of "kick my butt"

no really ....My taste buds cant really pick flavores yet....I just know when cigar has good or bad flavor to me

I smoked a RP Reo. Great cigar. Nice flavors of cocoa and coffee. Later on I had a Short Story. Mmmmmmmm.

I love the smell of Short Story in the morning.

I stepped out of the office at 9am to sip a cup of black coffee and smoke a Short Story. Good times.

Just smoked my first short story. It was delicious, and... short. I smoked it 'til the fingers and lips burned. I also practiced the nasal exhale, and did in fact taste (smell?) a completely new set of flavors. It is much easier on the sinuses when done slowly, with just a little smoke, after having blown most of it out normally.

Anyhow, I enjoyed both the cigar and working on my "technique".

Bestseller, Cameroon wrapper. Great smoke. burned it to 3/4 ash. If it is still where I put it down, will make a cool picture. Nice coffee and almond flavors. Also, when my wifed yelled for me to come inside I was done with it. 30 to 45 minute smoke. Awesome.

I do the same thing.

This morning I had my usual combo of Short Story and coffee.

Currently I'm putting a flame to cigar "2" from Barcochris

 I have been sick since March 10th. Had the flu, now a U-R infection. I haven't smoked in a looooong time. I can't wait to light up a SS with a cup of Kenya AA...... For now, I will live vicariously thru Axe. Paint me a better picture!!!

Well, I woke up this morning about 10 to 7 and ground up some Tanzanian Peaberry that Spider had sent me. With the coffee brewing I turned on Sirius and went upstairs to grab a Short Story. I opened up the current box and took in the aroma. I went back downstairs to let my dog outside and to pour a cup of coffee. I clipped the cigar and for the third day in a row the prelight draw was perfect, yeah baby!
I toasted the foot and went outside to see if there was any storm damage, and lucky for me the damage is only minor. Followed my dog back inside, poured another cup and sat on the couch contemplating what to make for dinner. The cigar and coffee combo was so relaxing this morning that I nearly fell back asleep.

Decided that some of the duck confit I made a few months ago would play a role in dinner. At this point I had to ash for the first time, otherwise the band would've begun to burn. 15 minutes later, I laid the cigar to rest...another satisfying smoke.
At that point I noticed the sky was getting dark so I jumped in my car and headed to the farmer's market to pick up some things. Not even a minute after returning home the sky opened up...again

Oh well, another day in paradise :dunno:

Feel better dude, tomorrow's SS will be dedicated to you!

Smoked a CAO Brazilia Cariocas courtesy of dbrad4d. Wow! What flavor. A really nice cigar if you only have 15-20 minutes to take a break. I drank some Dr. Pepper while I smoked. A great combo IMHO.

Man, I'm glad phisherman hooked me up with another of these great little smokes. I need to look into getting a couple tins.

LGC Wavell with a nice cup of Cafe Mocha from Tims while sitting in my back yard enjoying the spring day - Fantastic!!

I know what you're going through Robert. The only reason why I tolerate a non-smoking apartment in San francisco is because of the education I'm getting.

However, since I'm at my house in Temecula I can smoke indoors all I want, but good air filtration is a must.

After dinner I decided to treat myself to an Opus X XxX from 2002, and I was not disappointed! A nearly perfect burn combined with tons of complexity makes Axe a very happy man. The '94 Fonseca Vintage Port didn't hurt either

Its very possible that the one Dean sent you came from a package I sent to him. The infection is spreading. Long live the Cariocas!

First day on the course - had a Sol Cubana Maduro - this is now my go to stick! I love these things - great taste - excellent burn - had a Sol Cubana Conn after that - it's nice but man the maduro really works for me.

The week of smoking begins for me now!

I smoked my first 5 Vegas today. This was gifted to me. I've heard alot of buzz about them, but only on this forum. I was, to say the least, interested to give them a shot. I think the one I smoked was an 'A'. It was a ceder wrapped maduro robusto. I don't know how long it rested before it cme into my hands, I was impressed by the way the smoke hid its youth. It had a nice spice that covered the young taste and a good earthy/cocoa finish. The stick burned slowly and evenly. I tossed it a little bit sooner then i would have liked because it picked up an etherish sort of taste in the last 2 or so inches.
I was gifted another of the same by someone else so i will reserve judgement until i get some more feedback and try another, but I think I will like them.
Anyone else have any 5 Vegas experences they want to share?

The only one I have had was ruined by a beer that turned cigars bitter. The beer was a late batch or left over octoberfest I bought in late December. Every cigar that I had with this beer was bitter, even my everloved short story. I have 3 coming to me in the mail right now. I can't wait to revisit the 5 vegas A series and enjoy the wonderful dark rich flavour. I have also had the limitada which is a great smoke. Wonderful burn and very complex. More on the full bodied side and evolving as I got closer to the nub. I really like the belicoso vitola.
