25 years, I think.

brenda you forgot Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. They were the ones playin on the porch at the beginning of the movie "The Jerk".

When I was a kid, they came to our city, we all went to see them, and the next night, they came over to our house, and visited wiht all of us... how cool is that?

Bikes, strings and photography

I retired on medical disability to our farm several years ago. Since then I have gone back to college with a completely different focus, Animal Science.

I own too many motorcycles including a 98 Honda Goldwing 1600 SE (thus the moniker "wing98"), a vintage 1979 Goldwing 1000 (I use it for commuting to/fr school) and a 97 Honda Shadow that went through the flooding of New Orleans (probably a basket case).

I have both film and digital Nikon SLR's but rarely find the time to do much shooting with them. I own too many cameras and will probably have a fire sale on eBay one of these days.

I also have way too many stringed instruments including acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, banjo, bass and fiddle. I can barely play all of them and don't really stay in practice on any of them. I left the stage in 1987 and have never returned. It hasn't been enough of an incentive to make me sell off any of my musical, stage or sound equipment, though.

Is it true that the one who dies with the most toys wins?

I had a teacher once who was BB King's cousin. She showed us all kinds of pictures of him when he was younger, him with her, etc. Him and ol' Willie Nelson are the only blues musicians I ever really got into.

I'm a total parrothead but wouldn't really put Buffet into the Blues/Jazz category. Some songs like If I had Saxophones might fit though. He's just in a class all by himself.

BTW, I'm thinking about getting the lyrics and custom artwork for Havana Daydreamin' tattooed. Haven't figured out where though yet. I think wrapping around my leg.

Yeah, I wasn't putting him in with Blues, just putting him in my list because he's my favorite musician! That tattoo sounds pretty sweet and that's a great song too

I'm not a parrothead....but give me a sunny beach..a cigar... and a carona w/ lime anytime! :D

Wing98, I think it's really cool to have all of those string instruments. I too, have a banjo, an electric guitar, two accoustic and a ukulele. I'm just not very good so, I play when I'm home alone.

I love photography. Started in highschool. Before you sell any of your cameras on ebay PM me what you got. Possible trade in the future?

Now all you need is a sitar (sp). Then you can act like Geroge Harrison.

ME also I have a 4 string Tenor banjo, am a member of the Pittsburgh Banjo Club, largest banjo club I know of , over 100 members , BUT I never play in the summer time with the band, the summer uniform is a red banjo club shirt( no problem there) red sox 7 white shoes , ( still no problem ) a whits hat again no problem, BUT WHITE PANTS, now thats a problem , if the sun hits me the wrong way some one will go snow blind & who wants to see some one with white pants walking down the street with brown hash marks in the back & yellow drips in the front hahahahaha ! Enjoy, Vince

That's so cool that you play, Vince.

And, phisherman, George is my favorite.

I love that I'm learning all this cool stuff about you all.

One of my friends is like you all and has multiple musical instruments. He also has a banjo so the first time I ever heard Ryan Schup and the Rubber band play Banjo Boy I about died laughing and knew I had to have my friend listen to it. For all you banjo players you have to find it online and listen to it because it is so funny.

As to what I have at home, we have a panio which my wife plays well and I have an Apilachen dulcimere which I don't play so well.

No I dont play, at all I work at it, it is a tuff thing for me, ever since the stroke my left hand has a mind of its own, I can look at the string but the fingers dont go where I tell them to go, it isnt fun anymore it is a lot of work, but thats what happens when you get old , & I guess its better than NOT getting old hahahaha Enjoy, Vince

Hey, Vince. Could you play the drums? Or an other percussion instrument?

But we dont have a drum player in the PBC , just a base to keep time, all strings
we have an old galvanized washtub with a rope & a broom stick, that is good enough for us.you pull back on the broom stick to get a higher tone & relax it for a lower tone, strum the one string, its a fun time at the old folks home tonight hahahaha !
no problems wuith large movements, just the small stuff, like typing, I just use the index finger on my left hand , my wife & I switched sides of the bed, so that my right side is away from her now, since I dont have as much control with the left, , well you figure it out hahahaha I know again, to much info hahaha WHO CARES ! Enjoy, Vince

I came THIS close to buying a sitar that I saw in Vancouver when I was a teenager. I have always played, first clasical cello, and now stand-up bass, and I thought that playing a sitar would be soooo coool. I really love the tablas too though, so it was a toss-up.
