Nothing at all. It's like Seinfeld, which is the show about nothing at all. Haagen Dazs, the ice cream that tastes good, and whose name means nothing. :rotflmao: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :sm_angel:

Go to the head of the class ! Enjoy, Vince

A Happy & Blessed Easter to all ! I hope the Easter bunny was good to you & left you a lot of eggs to find this morning, I think he was playing a joke on me , my phone rang at 6:45 am , wrong number, , a few minutes later the person who number was being called , called me to ask if I had recieved a call for them, I told them yes , she said sorry she had just moved into the area & gave out my number as hers, , I bet a lot of single guys are going to be ticked off when I answer the phone hahahaha ! , all the numbers are the same but the first one , , , now she must go back to all the mens rooms & change her number on the wall ! hahahaha !
I started out the day a little late this morning, with the phone call at 6:45 , it was 45 minutes later than My normal get up, I had hoped to sleep in till about 9, but that didnt happen, so I made a pot of Kona at 7:15 & went to the Qtr.Deck with a Don Carlos Robusto this morning not a #3 , I dont know why , but I did , great smoke lasted just over an hour , long enough to sip a big 20 ounce mug of coffee & get one refill about half way finished .
I have the ham in the oven , but we are going to my sister in laws to eat today, I am giving my self a break from all the holiday cooking , for 35 years , everyone has been comming here to my place, Thanksgiving , Christmas, Easter , 4th of July ,Memorial day,Labor day,, you name it I was cooking for the day, well I have taken a short but well deserved vacation from holiday cooking for the family, & it is about time I sponge off some one else for a change , over the years I cant tell you how many turkeys , hams lambs, racks of ribs, bushels of corn , Veal breast, steaks , hot dogs & burghers I have made & never asked anyone to bring anything with them , not even the beer, but now that is changing, you want beer, Bring your own !, how ever I will contune to supply the fine cigars & single malt along with the coffee, , some folks still are drinking maxwell house & hills brothers , better than nothing but I like a little better cup my self, & why not treat my self to the best , who is drinking this anyway , ME , so if I want Peaberry , thats what I drink. ( end of short rant )
I will be the host at "On the Boarder" a new tex mex place in Cranberry Twp , starting Monday, they will be opening Thursday, so this will keep me off the streets between 10 & 4 , the cigar shops I go to are all open in the evenings & with the price of gasolone ($2.75) a gallon I dont think I will be driving all that much to go out & sell , more phone work from here on out, , but I hate phone sales , I like to put the cigar in your hand & let you enjoy the aroma , feel the silky wrapper, enjoy the taste & look at the "nice ash" , pair it with a cup of great coffee & a wonderful old single malt , yea baby thats living !
the yard will be getting a rake & a hair cut soon, it is the only thing I dont like about the good weather, & cutting the grass is not on my list of fun things to do, yes I do have a rider, & I do smoke a cigar when I am cutting grass, but the rider is loud & I cant hear the radio when I am on it, i have a set of head phones but I get the engine static sound with them on , so I just do with out , no whisky when I am on the rider, dont want to spill the drink !
well I am about ready to head back outside for more coffee & a second smoke of the day, dont know what I will have , but I am sure there is some thing on one of the humidors that will call to me soon ! hahaha Enjoy, Vince

I started my Easter Sunday morning off with a tall cup of drip brewed Costa Rican medium roast. My Cigar was a Rocky Patel V 1990 toro. I'm going back to bed so I can wake up again and do the same thing.........What a GREAT cigar. By the way, You deserve to finally take the day off Vince. Trouble is where ever you go, you will still end up in the kitchen!! Happy Easter! :D

5 Vegas Limitida and a few cups of Jamaican Me Crazy....awesome brew with an awesome stick.....ahhhhhh life is grand

Wife made a pot of Cinnamon Hazelnut coffee this morning - very tasty coffee - I have to find out what kind of bean they use to make their flavored roasts.

Just got back from the range - my wife finally shot my SKS and actually liked it.

She's making some appetizers now and we'll be having ham for dinner in a few hours. In the meantime, I will be lighting up something. Not sure just what - we'll have to see what calls my name when I open the humidor.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

Dave

I did end up in the kitchen AGAIN, my sister in law needed help, so guess who gets the call, I was sitting outside on there deck, having a smoke with my brother in law , his dad, my nep[hew & there cousin & his girl friend, every thing was going just fine, I was sipping a big mug of Kona that I took with me & smoking a Rocky Patel 92 vintage corona, well some one had to slice the turkey breast that she made, , so i got out the carving set & went to work, she was trying to make rice , dammmmmm stubborn Germans , great at making dumplings but have no idea how to make risotto !! well we did eat a little later , I finished the rice with a big hand full of aged Reggiano Parmigiana , surprised the Hell out of me when she had it in the fridge !!!
so with the turkey, rice & a little home made dinner rolls , with a side of greens we all sat down to a nice family meal, & the dog went nuts with the turkey that fell on the floor , a black lab that is about 40 pounds over weight ! Maggie, she had Pups about 18 months ago & still is sagging , she sleep all day , sleeps all night , only will go out side to GO, & back in the house sacked out right in front of the door !, toss a ball she looks at you like she was a cat, "you want me to do what ?" hahaha,

well we went for our Cigar ride after we got home, saw a few deer & a raccoon , I smoked a Bolivar double corona, it was in the humi about 5 years , dammmmmm it was great ! a cup of decaf & it was a nice evening here in the Burgh , the temp was in the 60's & with the heater on & the sun roof open we had a great time listening to the radio & talking about all the dysfunctional relatives we had spent the day with hahahaha, they were most likely saying the same thing about us ! hahahaha ! well it is time for a shower & off to bed, early get up Monday morning , cant sleep in , got to be at work by 10 AM hahahahahaha , dammm had I ever had a job that started at 10 AM I might have never retired hahahaha !
10 am to 4 Pm , 3 days a week, such a high pressure schedule hahahaha !

Enjoy, Vince

Sunday in Chesapeake was Great. Grand son and parents have move in while we overhaul thier kitchen. Took down a wall, removed all cabinets, pulled up the floor. Big fun. Its too dangerous for MY grandson to live there while all that is going on. Any way back to Easter Dinner. Saturday afternoon I placed a 6 lb, boneless pork roast in a ziplock bag with 3 cinnamin sticks and a pint of Capt Morgans Spiced Rumm. Twenty four hrs later I had it out of the bag and was pating it with some mild Jamaica Jurk rub. Onto the spit on the back porch grill for 2 and 1/2 hrs of turning and roasting. Meantime ole Tom was having a Perdomo Maduro Royal and a bottle of Argentina Merlot that I picked up at the grocery for 3 bottles for 10.00. Yes vince WE CAN BUY WINE at the GROCERY. Actually, we also had the bottle of Cabernat finished before the roast was cooked. Itwas a great roast. It had just a hint of sweetness with a little bit of fire from the jerk spices. I will definetly do that again. After dinner and desert we had a little Virginia Port an and a Padron 4000. It was a great Easter

Wow!!! You and Vince as dueling chefs would be a great show. Of course, it would have been a better show with Vince 200 pounds ago. :cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: :pumpkin: We could have billed it as . . .

BigTom vs. HugeVince in The Big Pork Cookoff. :sm_angel: :help: :help:

Sounds Yummy Tom. VA. PORT? I thought it had to come from Portugal to be port, like Bourbon can only be made in KY. & Cognac can only come from a small area of France , or didnt they ever have any rules about Port?

Tom & Vince as duling chefs, the White bearded chef vs the Gray beared chef , more fun than a bunch of monkeys ! break out the black coffee for after the battle of the boozers ! hahahahahahaha
Enjoy, Vince

back when I was over 400 pounds I always said, who would you trust as your chef? the guy who looks like he eats everything or the guy who is slim & trim? well even though I am under 220 pounds now , I am not skinnnnnny, true I dont have a 62 inch waist line any more ( & the pants were tight then !!) now I have on a pair of 42's & can take them off with out opening the buttom or dropping the zipper , BUT I am no place near skinny ! !!!!! & what makes it even better, I can see "Little Vinny" with out a mirror hahahahaha,

Enjoy, Vince

Poor Little Vinney, now that you can see him, are going to start abusing him ?
I guess you are still BIG enough to trust in the kitchen.

No more that usual !

Enjoy, Vince

Good morning all, I slept in today , it is after 10:30 & I havent had my morning Don Carlos III as of yet, so far I have gone out for the paper & had an egg with my wife & took a look at the Sunday Funnies in the paper & thats about it, I am really feely my age this morning, the legs jst dont work as good as they did when I was young, I was the M.C at a cigar dinner last night & didnt get a chance to sit all evening, , I got a last minute call & I showed up ready to work & work I did , I didnt eat , there was so much food I would have been sick had I even tryed to consume a taste from each course,Oysters on the half shell, BBQ meat balls ,assorted cheeses & wild turky 101 jst to get things started, , then the real food started to come out, Ravoli , then Risotto, salmon, braised Pork shank, a salad & desert of warm chocolate flan & fresh berrys with wild turkey liquore & coffee, dammm fun night the cigars were a Fonseca, Avo, Bolivar & La Gloria Cubana . it was a fun night a few humidors were given away & some hats & shirts & some cash ! , it was a fun night for all !
My buddy Mike who has been in the hospital since last summer is commong home this Thursday, , His insurance ran out & his medicare disabilty didnt start yet so he is going home & his wife will be working half days for a while till he gets settled in , all the rentovations to the house are finished, ramps are in place & the dining room table has one less chair at it to allow his wheel chair in . he has made a remarkable recovery & has realized his limitations now , at first he was verry upset & became violent , jst rage comming to the surface & now he has excepted the problem & has had a change in attitude, better to see him every day in a wheel chair that to visit him 1 to 3 & 7 to 9 for a few days at the Funeral home . At first to be honest with you all , I thought he would had been better off had he not woke up after the stroke , but now he is getting his sence of humor back & starting to love life like he did before , it is a wonderfull recovery for him, he just turned 55 on the 20th. of April, & it is good to be able to say he is still my friend , alive & kicking be it with just one leg !
I got the first cut of the yard under my belt all ready & with all the rain we have been getting & Green grass is filled with BRIGHT YELLOW dandilines , now you know what that means , dandyline wine ! hahahahaha , ahhh it is wonderful, the magic of science, , , a little yeast some sugar , water & something to ferment & baby you got wine , add a little heat & a copper still, you got Brandy !
I know the God of wine is Bachause (SP) , I wonder what the
God of Distererys is called, Johnny Walker maybe ?
It is a clear blue sky with some light cumulis clouds on the horizon, a bit cooler today than yesterday but no rain like yesterday I have my third cup of Kona ready to go & the Don Carlos is calling me to the back deck this morning, & spent 2 days this week building new Wooden furniture ( from a kit ) , my Knuckles are all scraped & hands are sore& I have a huge scrape on my left shoulder blade , how I got that I have no idea , well the new glider is done & I dont have any parts left over !!!!!!! I could have had the store put it together for 25 Bucks & deliver it for an additional 50 , hahahahahahaha, for 75 bucks over the price of the kit, well I decieded ( after my wife told me ) to build it my self ! , next time, I'll pay the 75 bucks ! !!!! or buy a power screw driver , no I better not do that, she will expect me to fix things if I have tools hahahahahaha
Don Carlos is calling again so I got to go ! have a great Sunday everyone ! Enjoy, Vince

All thanks and praise to The Lord Jesus for Mike's remarkable recovery. That is truly wonderful, that you still have your friend and with the best of his faculties intact. One thing about being our age, Vince. When we were young, we attended weddings, but now we will be attending more and more funerals as the years go by. Thank God that Mike has been returned to you and his family from the jaws of death. To hear that he even has a sense of humor now is wonderful. May The Lord give him many more wonderful years here and a place in The Kingdom forever.

It seems as though Don Carlos has been calling you quite a bit these days. His dialing finger must be very sore. :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:

Bloofy you are so right , it must have been the POWER of Prayer that got him back to us all, he hasnt been to the Qtr.Deck in a long time & I have a ramp in place for him , there are 2 photos of the 2 of us ,one taken in the Qtr.Deck & one taken at a dinner we went to , both are hanging in the Qtr.Deck along with Art Rooney ,Terry Bradshaw, George Burns,Gurcho,Clint Eastwood, Dr.Fruid,Rudyard kipling,Edward G. Robinson,J.F.K,James Spader with William Shatner,Orson Wells,Sir Winston Churchill, the Saparanos ,Alfred Hitchock,Jack Nickelson,Danny DeVitto, & a bunch of others I cant think of there names with out going out to the Qtr.Deck to see who I missed, beside my self & Art Rooney Sr. ( the Chief & orginal owner of the 5 time World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers) Mike is the only other person to have more than one photo of them on the wall of famous cigar smokers ( all 4 walls in the Qtr.Deck are covered ) but I do have room for a few more !
Don Carlos was verrrrry good to me today & I think I will be joining Rocket Patell some time this afternoon for a Sungrown Churchill. the Mayorgia Coffee is brewing as I type, so it will be soon, I will be busy splicing speaker wire to hook up the old speakers I got from my brother to the boom box in the Qtr.Deck, If I can find a mini plug & the sldering iron that is hahahaha, I know I dont have a sodering iron, but I have a nice Blazer torch, if I do it just right I might be able to make a good conection ! hahaha !!
Enjoy, Vince
