Oh yes, you did, fess up. You also kidnapped Westminster Abbey, The Tower O' Big Ben for the Steelers first four games of the season. :cryinlaugh:

Why did some thing bad happen to Ben & the steelers?

Hey Vince, you gave your address, but forgot to give your last name, . . .

WISENHEIMER!!!

:cryinlaugh:  :neer: :rotflmao: :pumpkin: :help: :help:

Last name is EASY , starts with O , then R and then END , 5 letters total, just the way my grandfather spelled it when he got to Ellis Island . from the area of Europe ruled by Vlad the Impaler , so dont get to close when I am eating you might get a bite taken out of your neck, But since I am a GARLIC lover I guess I have enough Italian blood in me to counteract any Vampire overtones , & enough American Indian to make me one with nature & with a touch of Scotch, Irish & Russian Blood I guess that makes me a Hinze 57 , & what a better place to be than Pittsburgh with this type of a background !!!!!
Well lots & lots going on here in the county , we had a HUGE train wreck just a few miles from me , a freight train pulling a bunch of tank cars derailed along the Beaver River between New Brighton & Beaver Falls Pa , tank cars loaded with Ethanol , right out of the distillery went off the track & on to the river bank & caught fire , I could see the glow in the sky & I am about 10 miles from there , it has been burning over 24 hours now & still going , the fire dept. & the Rail road thought it would be better to let it burn off than try to put it out & clean it up, the mess it would make of the river would be worse than letting it burn, so the news helicopter's are in the air going between the fire & just down the river a few miles we have 2 coal filled barges wedged in the Montgomery Dam on the Ohio river , this is the same dam that had a tug boat go over & kill the crew last winter , just a few miles up river from the Atomic power plant at Shippingsport Pa , so there are a lot of Uniformed armed guard all over the place. , so thats what has been on our front page the past week, ! & I think the steeles play today but I dont know if I will be able to watch much of the game , if any of it , Things to do , people to see & food to cook !!!

I have a pot roast to make today , same as always for the wife, she likes it so I make it , today I will make a Zucchini & cauliflower casserole in a cheese sauce with some red bell pepper & onion , I am cleaning out the vegetable crisper in the fridge !!

I have been smoking some great cigars this past week, I was digging in one of the humidors & found some Bahia maduro that I put away a long time ago , DAMMMMMMM what a smoke , I had one last night on our cigar ride & it lasted a few minutes short of 2 hours, a great torp. , my wife said it had a musty smell to it but I thought it had a wonderful taste , it matched well with my
Louis XIII , decaf, all I needed was a single malt but not in the car !!
OH YEA the Car, I know I needed to get tires before winter & since the car has 135K Plus on it & still has the original spark plugs in it I thought it was time to "Tune it Up " plugs wires PCV Valve & clean the fuel injectors & the fuel filter, well 735 bucks later & 2 hours late for supper I got home , they broke a sensor on the back of the motor when they were changing a cracked vacuum hose , & no parts store had a replacement & the dealership was closed , so by the time some one brought the right part to send me home it was well past 7 Pm & I never did get to the Friday night BYOB at King Beaver cigars , dammmm where did the time go , before I knew it, BAM MM time for bed ! , well before i even get home my furnace has a Hic-up & pops up a tiny little part for 157 bucks including labor & the service call to fix it ! I am glad my wife called the furnace man so when I finally got home it was warm !!! , so I spent almost a thousand bucks in one day & I have NO CIGARS or SINGLE MALT to show for it !! Dammmmmm

I got a very late start this morning it was after 9 am when I got out of bed, , a breakfast of bacon & eggs for the boss & myself & I have the pot roast to get started soon & I haven't had my Sunday Morning Don Carlos #3 yet ! , but as soon as I finish with my posting & E mail I will be heading to the Qtr.Deck with a Kona & a #3, & maybe a a weeee dram , but I hate to get started this early in the day, I know what it will lead to hahahahaha, & one thing for sure I will not be watching the steelers if I start to drink before the game & will have some music on & be enjoying the buzz, not distracted by football ! hahahahahaha

the grandson played his last soccer game of the season that I will be able to watch, next Saturday is his last game of the season but I will be at the cigar shop, for the Oct.Fest in Monaca Pa , we have a booth & I will be selling cigars & having a good time keeping warm with some apple cider , spiked with a little Home made apple jack !!!!!
The leaves should be down soon there are a few bare trees across from me but the trees in my yard are just starting to turn color, one maple is still green with a little yellow & the other has a bit of red on it & the tree beside the electric fence is just turning brown & falling off .
time for me to head out to the Qtr.Deck & turn on the heat , by the time I come back in , get the pot roast on & take a dump , shower & get dressed the day will be in full swing & I will be headed out for a well deserved Sunday morning Smoke !!
Enjoy, Vince

Saw it on FOX(y)-News' web site this morning before leaving work, and I thought uh, oh, I think that's near Vince. America turns to alternative fuels, and the freakin' train wrecks. I'll bet Bush and Cheney's oil company pals did it. At least you and everyone in the surrounding area will be alright.

Exactly Bloof...

So how much energy was wasted in that debacle?

Not only the ethanol that was produced, but any energy expended in the process of making it is all kaput.

What is the net "savings' of alternative fuels in this case??

Sounds like a net gain of nothing, and an actual loss of time, energy, resource, and man hours.....
Why do they INSIST on a better mousetrap?

Well, it's not that ethanol is a bad idea, but train crashes are. They shouldn't happen. Since the train was in a 45 mph section of track and was reputed to be moving between 36-39 mph, something is rotten in Denmark, in other words . . .

was it was, or was it wasn't?

As for me personally, when I get a bit older, I'd like to get into the pig manure to crude oil conversion thingy. I love pigs. I could handle a few pigs to make heating oil for my barn, farm house, mini-distillery, and hogoline for the family and farm vehicles. A few more pigs and I could produce a few barrels of crude to sell. A few solar panels, a couple windmills and everyone's all set. I'd like to keep a few pigs that I knew weren't going to market.

Shades of Thunderdome, who runs Bartertown, Power by PIG $HIT
, I see the trains going through the area where the crash was & they are always going slow, A friend ( David Cercone) lives just one block from the accident site, he cant go home, till the fire is out, they think it might explode & that would not be a good thing, But all in all the safty record in the area has been good with the rail roads , the river was getting a lot of fishing in the rea , but I dont think this will help, maybe cooking the fish before you catch then is not a good idea ! hahaha,
last summer we spent a few days on daves front porch watching the cars & trucks go by as we smoked a few cigars & the trains were loud but slow, I told him he could sleep in the Qtr.Deck but his girlfriend has him staying there , No reason to mess that up hahahaha !!
the River traffic has come to a stop on the Beaver river , not that there was any barge traffic, just a few fishing boats here & there , but the Ohio River is doing OK even with the 2 coal barges stuck in the dam the locks are ok & the traffic is moving up & down the Ohio
all the roads leading to the crash site are blocked off & I stopped to pass out a few cigars to the firemen who are manning the road blocks , lots of over time for the police making sure no one gets to close, the TV traffic copters are all over the place & the news teams are doing live reports telling us nothing new , & that it is still burning, Just 3 tank cars caught on fire of the 8 that went off the track, looks like putting pennies on the track isnt such a good idea hahahahaha ! , Not that I would have ever done that in my life !

The newPOD cast is ready to be down loaded & listened to , #22
go to http://www.burghherfers.com & click on the link to the pod cast !
Enjoy, Vince

Good morning all you cigar smokers , readers ,posters & lurkers , it is Sunday 29 Oct. 06, & I just finished a cheese & Valida onion omelet with bacon & tomato , I am sipping a mug of Kona & will be heading out to the Qtr.Deck soon for my Don Carlos III, since we were to fall back at 2 am I am still on the daylight savings time mode of doing things & I just plain old slept in this morning , I made the mistake of turning on the TV in the bedroom last night & the station was set on the Matrix, so I watched it like a fool & at 3 am I was still awake , so this morning I didn't get up at 6 for my morning walk & cigar , I will get to it soon enough , but I think I will by pass the walk today, it was a MISERABLE day yesterday, cold & wet, thunder & lightning with snow & freezing rain, what a mess winds were 30 MPH & gusting to 45 , not a good day for the Oktoberfest in Monaca Pa at all , but today looks a lot better Sun & blue sky but still windy , maybe it will blow all the down leaves away & I will be able to put the rake away till next fall hahahaha !

I have a small pork loin to roast today I think I will make it with some Plums , Apples & Pecans , or maybe almonds I dont know what is here to use with out looking anymore , since I cook one day a week now I dont keep up with the food stores as much as I did before
The leaves have past the prime color stage & are falling rapidly , last night the roads were slick with wet leaves , glad I got new tires last week, I am set for winter & set back just over 700 Bucks for 4 tires & a "tune up " , the car has over 136K & it still had the original spark plugs in it that came from the factory, I hated to change them I was getting 20/22 MPG & I hated to mess with it, , , , , , first tank after the tune up I got 19 MPG !!!!!!!!, I am working on tank #2 now & it looks a little better , & Gas has gone up again , this time to 225 a gallon up 10cents from the low we hit last week, the dammmmm speculators trading oil futures are the blame for all this not the government, so many people blame the president for BS that he has no control over & they give him credit for some things he had nothing to do with , strange world we live in for sure .

The new Shop is doing well, King Beaver Cigars is a hit & getting busy every day, I have a place to hang out now that the old shop has closed , I do miss the old place I have a lot of good memories from there & a lot of NIGHTMARES to boot, so I guess this is a good move , & I dont need to feed a parking meter any more, I can park in the back for nothing !!! , Parking in Pittsburgh is getting to be a JOKE, we have the highest parking tax in the country, you can park in NYC, Washington DC, or Boston cheeper than Pittsburgh ! IT SUCKS BIG TIME !, since King Beaver Cigars is in the little BORO of Monaca , the parking ticket is 2 bucks & you get 1 hour 40 minuets for a Qtr. on the meter , but just a few miles down the road in the city, it cost me 18 bucks to park in a lot for 12 minuets when I had to drop off a package at the Courthouse
NO idt didnt explode hahahahahaha But I did , all I had was 12 bucks cash & the lot didnt take credit cards , so they bille me for 6 bucks & charged me 15 bucks to send the statement in the mail with a return envelope for the 6 bucks plus fees , HIGHWAY ROBBERY , I should just grin & say you got me but it ticks me off big time , I tryed to bribe the highly skilled lot attendent with a few Fine cigars but he was smoking a Parodi , not that it is a bad smoke , but if you smoke them all day I dont think you would be able to taste a Don Carlos III, or a Rocky Patel Edge , that all I had in my 3 finger case .
I missed the grandsons last soccer game , it was rained out , ! we had a west wind come in off Lake erie & it brought 40 MPH gusts with almost an inch of rain , the kids would have been blow away if they didnt get stuck in the mud !

I sent out some gigar last week to a buddy , & from the time I sent them by US mail & him getting them he moved & places a mail fwd. change with the Post office , well he still hasnt got his cigars & since I set them first class ( to save a few buks ) instead of going with the Priority mail they are lost in the system, or some one is smoking a box of Ashton DBL.Magnums at the post office hahahahah !!

I need a second pot of coffee this morning so i better get moving, time to go out & turn on the heat in the QTR.DECK , by the time I get the pork roast in the oven it will be warm & I can sit down with a fresh mug of coffee & my buddy Don Carlos III & listen to some Sunday Morning Jazz , Spyro Gyro just might be the ticket this morningb , backed up wit a little Hubbie Laws & some Bob James , & if the cigars last long enough before I get disturbed, maybe a little Weather Report will be in order , Dammm I might even pull a cork later today hahahaha ! dont bet against that one !!!!!!!

Enjoy, Vince

Vince-

Are you going to be making up any merchandise for your store? T-shirts, ashtrays, etc. I think it would be cool to have me a King Beaver Cigar shirt

ITS Sunday Again !!! 5 Nov.06 it has been a LONG week, last Monday when I went in the shop to open I was greated by the sound of running water ,,,, a like going to the misit humidifier in the humidor , split & was spraying water all over the humidor, there was just over an inch in the humidor & about 4 inches in the basement I later found out , what a mess, But thank God for Insurance, or we would be closed before we had our first Holiday season !, so far i have trashed four 55 gallon trash bags of WET cigars & boxes, some of the sealed boxes sucked up so much water they split , what a mess, But the new stock is on order & a lot of the back orders are starting to hit the shop now so we didnt loose any days of selling , we are open & ready to serve the public , BIG sale on damp smokes hahahahaha , one thing for sure the Humidor is HUMID ! Oh well the water damage was held to a minimun .

Yesterday I slept like a LOG , I didnt wake up till after 10 am , I dont know what I was so tired for , I didnt even get up to answer the call of the full bladder , & NO I didnt sleep through it , hahaha
well we got the back deck cleared & ready for winter, all the furniture is put away , leaves are cleaned out of the gutters & the Christmas lights are moved to the front of the shed , last year I put the deck chairs in front of the lights & had to dig them out , this year I remembered to move them first, Not a stupid as I look hahahaha

I have a mug of Mayorgia Cuban coffee working with me this morning & a Mayorgia HI Octaine corona , dammmmmm what a BUZZ early inn the morning, I might need to take a nap soon !!
we had hot pepper cheese omlets with Vidalia onion this morning with some bacon & grilled hushpuppys ( not as good as deep fryed) but better than nothing !!
the Pot roast will go on soon & we are going to take a little ride to Volant Pa this morning a small town of craft shops & tourest traps , & 7 miles from Lords Tobacco in New Willmington Pa , Gee I wonder if they are open on Sundays??? , I was just there Friday night as we did a Pod cast from there, check it out by going to

I havent had much time in the Qtr.Deck this past week , going in early staying late at the shop getting everything ready & dry , but one thing I have been doing is taking a few minutes in the morning toi tune in the discovery channel, American Chopper is a Hoot , from the Big Guns on Paul SR to the Big hair on Mikey , I wonder how they ever get anything done !! , This next week I hope to get some Quiet time in the QTR.DECK I need to sit & chill out a little Miles , some Bix, & a few hours of the Duke & the Count
maybe some Dorsey , Goodman & Artie Shaw , just what the Doc ordered, I might even break out some Beethoven , Bach or some Simon & Garfunkle , maybe a little Janis Joplin, who knows what I might find in the music rack.

Thats about it here from the Burgh this wonderfull Sunday morning , I will be hitting the highway soon , with a mug of Mayorgia & a Cuban Monte #2 torp. I had a long hard week, what a better way to treat my self I will never know !!!! , Enjoy, Vince

GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM!!!

Well, that's what Vince's life sounds like a lot of times anyway. He fights more wars before 10 a.m. than I've fought in my lifetime, and I'm having what is truly the worst year of my life. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I said that back in '04, and probably also in '01, but it was true then and it's true now.

SO WHAT!??!?!?!? Here I am, a fresh, Freedom Press of what the heck did I buy last week from Oren's anyway, and Maxine is hippo-ing around the house asking where we'll be at the end of the year. Truth is, I don't know, but hopefully it won't be in a box under the 59th Street Bridge. Oh right, they don't allow that anymore. Yeah, they'll let you walk through the subway smelling like a death camp, but don't you dare set up a box under the 59th Street Bridge, even when it's 11 degrees outside.

:cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: :cryinlaugh: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:

Anyway, Vince is being his typical Wisenheimer self this morning, and where would we be without him?

Anyhow?

He never answered my question about whether or not The Glenlivet 21 is any good, just said if it was free it was great. :duh:

Vince, terribly sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Hope there was no warping done to the structure, because although you need the humidity, you don't need the mold, and as for the poor, wasted cigars, they'll never know the pleasure of feeling human lips upon their sorry, soggy wrappers.

It's a great day to be alive, folks, and don't forget, after today, . . .

the Jets will be 4-5, on their way to 4-12.

Ah, what a beautiful sunday morning here in the California Bay Area!

Today I woke up with the sun in my face, I got up and looked out on the water to see so pelicans in the bay. They were splashing in the water making all sorts of noise with their giant wings.

I stumbled down stairs got on some clothes and drove off to get some fantasic Peets coffee ( I am far to lazy, and hung-over this morning, after watching my San Jose Sharks beat Pittsburg to make my own coffee), they had sumatra on tap which I really love.

After driving home I opened up the humidor which has been struggling with the new dry "winter" weather. If you can really call this winter yet, I think its gonna be in the 60-70's today... I pulled out a nice St. Luis Ray maduro robosto, sat out on the deck and watched the water, and enjoyed my cigar.

Unfortunatly I do have to go to work day, so Ill be showing up as my partner at work puts it "smelling like a race track". Which I find to be much more appealing then how my ambulance smells, which I like to describe as a combination of rotten feet, bleach, and homeless person.

I hope all of your sundays have started as well as mine, and lets just hope mine ends as well as it started!

Today is a work day for me as well, but I get off at 6PM. Today is a pretty mild day as far as the weather goes, so I should be able to enjoy a good cigar tonight. Now, I just have to figure out what to smoke.

Man - this is a bad trend - I am at work right now and I just got a call from BarcoChris - he was at work! This is a bad, bad thing. The only consolation is that it is warm enough to head outside in a bit and have a smoke with a cup of Montecristo Havana Blend coffee. Doesn't get too much better than that!
