But of Course , Kona & a DC3 , How ever it is a little later today than I want it to be , slept in till 9:45 , just needed the extra sack time due to "Extra "sack time last night ! hahahaha , you know the old story , what I used to do all night now takes me all night to do
breakfast was a single egg & one slice of bacon one slice of toast, 2 chocolate chip cookies , with nuts & raisins , Dammmmmm they were tasty, I dont have to cook any more today , just reheat the rest of the turkey, , we had a small bird just over 10 pounds , & there is about 2 or 3 meals left as I type, I did make turkey salad, & have all the bones in the freezer for stock & will be making soup soon , Nothing goes in the garbage till it is garbage , them bones make GREAT soup!!, We did have a quiet NO fighting dinner, just the mother in law & the wife, so the 3 of us didn't get into any political or religious discussions & there was no fighting, dammmm I miss the big family get togethers hahahaha , the grandsons & my daughter & her husband were at his family's this year , & all we did was go to the nursing home to pick up the mother in law & had her here most of the day, but she got a little tipsy after 3 glasses of wine & wanted to go back so she could go to bed !! ahhhhh the wonders of good home made wine , with a couple of shots of Vodka in it to put her lights out! The old gal can still handle the booze , hahahahaha
The shop was B U S Y , all week, we were open Thursday for the football games but I stayed home & got the old lady crocked before we took her back ! Friday was a killlllllller , I didn't have time to smoke more than 3 cigars all day, to dammmm busy with customers , why cant they let me alone to enjoy MY cigar hahahahaha , we did go through 5 pots of coffee by 5 pm & I switched every one to decaf & no one complained, I just added a few Extra scoops of coffee & made it a little stronger & no one even knew it was decaf, well if they did no one said anything, I got home after 9 pm , it was a LONG day,,,, 11 hours of sitting ,standing & smoking , waiting on customers & helping a few Novices through there FIRST real cigar with out a plastic tip on it , ahhhhh the joys of Parent hood , well even though I have no idea who there parents are or were , I felt a good feeling when they sat down took a puff & sipped a little coffee & some single malt with a little jazz in the background, I feel like I have passed the torch to the next generation of Cigar smokers , its a good feeling !!! but this is like preaching to the choirs
Right now my daughter is on the phone with my wife, she is in the next room & I can hear her like it was a speaker phone , she is so dammm loud, gee I wonder whoi she takes after hahahaha
I got 90% of my Christmas shopping finished yesterday , I think my wife will be happy this year , it is the first time in YEARS I have went to a clothing store for her with out having her try the stuff on , now that we both have lost a lot of weight it is so easy to buy tops & pants for both of us ! I am down to a some what loose 40 waist ( from a TIGHT 62 ) but the 38 is still a little tight & pulls at the pockets , so I am very happy with the 40's !!
this past week was a smokers paradice at the shop, we had 3 Manufactures reps in the shop all at the same time , so the smoke was THICK as the BULL$HIT, & samples were flying all over the place , dammmm I love that !!
the Christmas lights went up with out a major hitch & we have 4 new trees on the back deck , it is looking good !
The Kona is all drank up this morning & my wife made a pot of Christmas blend , it has a little gingerbread taste to it, I am not a fan of flavored coffee but this isnt so bad, I dont think I want to smoke a cigar with this coffee , how ever I might have an Avanti with it , to bad I dont have any , but I do know where I can go buy one hahahaha , well it is almost time for me to start thinking about what I am going to have for lunch, will it be an orange or a banana ? hummmm maybe both !

Thank you all for the kind words I enjoy posting here, I havent been as active on all the boards as I was before starting to work at King Beaver Cigars , it is a fun job, But not as much fun as the radio , but close , I do miss my air time & would go back if I could get an early morning shift , because I dont want to give up what I have now , !!!!!!!!

RP cennecticut this afternoon. I was able to read a Cigar Aficiinado from Aug. of 1999 the Hemingway issue. A alcohol store here had them in a small pile that they never sold. it was nice to read something from the past by CA.

in 1999 My daughter was 27 years old, I was about 375 /380 pounds or so, maybe 390 who can remember that far back, I was smoking about 4 or 5 cigars a day & drinking a pot of coffee a day, now I have doubles the cigars, doubled the coffee & cut my weight in half ! , it was a LONG time ago, & dont toss out your old CA's , they never go out of date , the only thing that changes is the PRICE of the cigars ! ITS Sunday !!!!! Dec. 3 ,2006, the perfect day for a DC 3 , but then again any day is a great day for a DC3 !!, the Qtr.Deck didn't see much action this past week, I was at the shop a lot, 12 hours on Friday alone with just a handfull of customers who kept me busy , so busy I was only able to smoke 2 cigars all day !!! dammm I hate that ( being forced to work when I want to take a cigar & coffee break ) hahahahaha , the last 2 Fridays have been great as far as $$$$, but I dont like the 12 hour shift ! , No time to take a dump !! , I dont mind the fact that I dont get a chance to eat, I dont mind that at all, but I miss my "Down load time " hahahaha
The Humidor is LOOKING GREAT, in fact it is buldging at the seams
we have started construction os a second walkin , not quite as big as the first , 12 X 16 , this one is 6 x 16 & will have the private lockers on the outside of it , the "kitchen " area has been upgraded to a few oak cabnets & a sink & undercounter fridge/wine cooler & a place for the coffee pot , & a BIGGGGGGER coffee pot this time , right now I can make 12/6ounce cups at a time , that lasts me about an hour & less if customers drink any , cheep bastards never want to bring there own cream & sugar, I dont use cream or sugar, I supply the coffee , if you want cream BRING YOUR OWN, & bring your own cup & wash it when your done, I am not the maid , well why dont I get throw away cups, well I just told you I supply the coffee, the pot the water, & I make the coffee if you want a plastic cup fine YOU bring your own, I have my own travel mug ( I am never with out it ) , dammmmmm you guys are supposed to be adults , I am not you mother or you wife, be a man take care of yourself, dammmmmm customers hahahaha
it turned COLD here Friday, in the morning it was 65F by late afternoon we had a Tornado about 40 miles from here & the temp dropped to the 30's , I had a little wind damage but nothing like the people who got the twister, dammmmm in December a Twister ! CRAZY WEATHER !!!
with all the time I have been spending at the shop I havent had a chance to do much cooking but I did make egg plant Parm . this week, Barb & I had it Tuesday & Thursday , & there is still a little left, looks like it will get added to the sauce today !
I dont know what I will be making or how it will be all I know it will be Porkchops , how i am going to make them & if I use the left over eggplant will be a decision I make later when I look & see wht else is in the pantry .
No Kona this morning, it is Holiday blend from Hicory Farms , but I think I might need to clear the taste buds with some single malt & make a pot of Kona this afternoon , the heat is on in the Qtr.Deck & I will be heaed out soon, , I goy a new TV for the Qtr.Deck , well an old Tv but new to the QTR.Deck, it has been in my bed room for some time now , but it is a 13 inch, I got a 21 inch portable this week from my Mother in law & it went in my bed room , the 13 went to the Qtr.Deck & now I have a 5 inch Black & white to stick in the back seat for the grandsons to watch when we go some place, WHAT NO COLOR ???? , dammm spolied kids hahahahaha
I saw a performance of the Sunshine Boys at the local community theater , it was great , , All the world is a stage & we are mearly players . ( or words to that effect) , I would go back again in a heartbeat, I plan on taking the boys to the Christmas show if I can get them away from there grandmother long enough , I might even let her come with us hahahahaha
I have hit a metal road block , what should I do with the chops today, by this time of the morning I know what I will be making but today I have a blank slate, No great ideas or even Bad ideas, usually when I do the Sunday morning smoke Posting I have it all figured out ,,,,,, today , NADI(not a dammmm idea) , dammmmm I must be getting OLD hahahahaha

Eggplant parmigiana, one of my all-time favorite dishes. I wonder if Vince is one of those guys who can make the eggplant have the texture and taste of veal. It's always such a mind blow when I have somebody's eggplant parmigiana, but they haven't told me what it is, so I wind up guessing until they tell me. That's done with some kind of mallet, right, texturizing the eggplant, or something like that? :dunno:

no I dont pound the egg plant, I do pound the veal,chicken or Pork when I make them for some dishes, but I cut the egg plant think & leave the peal on it for texture, some times I mix the white & purple skined egg plants to add a dash of color to the dish , once sliced it is salted & let to sit on a drain board about 20/25 minutes , then flour, egg wash bread crumbs & then the hot oil , once it is browned on both sides it gets set to the side & the assemble begins, , pre heat the oven to 325 , get the cheese & "red gravy " ready & start building , when your done , it slides in the oven foran hour or so, , easy as going to sleep on your feet !

Vince, you slay me brother. 30 degrees isn't cold, today we are at
-20F with the wind chill brother, no smoking outside for me today.
The Christmas season is apon us, and so is the season of concerts and plays. Thursday night, my son had the part of the narrator in "The Chrismas Story" put on by his high school drama club. Not the Dickens one, but the one where the little boy wants a BB gun for Christmas, and everyone keeps telling him he will shoot his eye out.
It was hillarious!! The kids did so well, they got a standing ovation.
Today, my daughter had her choir concert - what beautifull singing -it always gives me a little taste of what we will have in heavan some day. Tonight, we have a Christmas feast, and it will be a great time of fellowship and food.

I have heard storys about that Antarctica, and just thank God I do not have to live there that is for sure.
But you know, its all a matter of adjustment, we do everything we always do when its so cold, you just dress a little warmer, and move a little slower. It is just a shame I don't have any where warm to smoke, I am really craving a cigar right now - but the garage will come some day.

IT IS SUNDAY !!! 10 Dec. 06, 15 days to go till Christmas , I have been ready since last new years day for it , for a few years I thought I was just getting to old to enjoy Christmas but now with the grandsons being 9 & 11 , I see it through their eyes & feel young again , the jounts still creeeeek & the eyes dont see as welll as they did , whats that you say , oh yea the hearing is also going away , as well as a few other things that just dont work as well as they did before , hahahahaha, but thats life & I have enjoyed mine to the upmost , SO FAR SO GOOD !
I didnt get up till 9 am this morning & I havent had my morning cigar yet, but it is comming up shortly, the coffee is on , a pot of Winter Blend to start the day & a pot of Kenya AA to sip in the Qtr.Deck with my Buddy Don Carlos III , NO Kona this morning, , I have the coffee it just needs ground & I am feeling Lazy this morning & just dont want to grind coffee , so if the wife will grind it I will drink it hahahaha
I got out the frozen turkey bones last night & put them in the fridge , looks like I will be making a pot of Turkey rice soup today, & a wonderful day for it , we have about an inch of snow left & the temp is going up into the low 40 this afternoon, so a nice big pot of soup is in order
