He's young he'll be fine!!

I ended up going with a bolivar ( not ISOM) lonsdale. I dug way down to the bottom of the humi and found it there. It had no cello on it and somehow along the line i cracked the wrapper, but the binder was good so it burned well. I think this cigar had some abuse in its life. It tasted like it had been dry at some point. It didnt have the flavor i thought it would but all in all it worked well. A good movie (forest gump) a few good beers and a good cigar is the way i would love to spend EVERY sunday.

It had a ring size of 46 ( i think ) and i smoked it SLOW. it lasted the entire movie. That saved it from burning hot. It wasnt the best but from an abused cigar, it got the job done.

Dammm computer I had a nice long post & it Belched & it is gone, I have to get my car o the shop I will try to post later

OK Sunday Morning smoke Post just past 1 PM , better late than never !

A beautiful day in day burgh today high of 78F , Blue skys & not a cloud to be seen ! , The wife is spending the day with her sister & she left me instructions to "get er done " when she was gone, so I took the car to the garage to have the turn signals looked at, I put up the New bird feeder & watering station, hung the wind chimes & spinners & put the "Frog" on a bike in the yard & put water in the water falls so NOW we are reasy to sit out & listen to the chimes & the water ! , Since she is out for the day I dont have to cook anything for her , its just me, Bring on the peppers, onions & garlic, just stand to close to me come Monday ! hahahaha
I had the pot of kona this morning with my Don Carlos, But today I had a Number 2 torp , instead of my #3 corona , I dont have any idea where it came from or how long I have had it , I dont remember buying it or haven it given to me , Oh well it was just Wonderful so I guess I win all the way arround, & since I am the one keeping score, you better believe I will win more times than Not ! hahaha
Since the Honey due list is done, 7 I have had my kona & Don Carlos , it seanms like I need a diversion today, Sunday afternoon Jazz on WDUQ 90.5 FM is on right now & I will be kicking back with a Camacho Select with a single malt Irish whisky this fine afternoon a pot of Kenya AA is getting ready to be pressed when I am done posting
The grandson was back on the scoccor field yesterday morning at 8 am after last weeks ball to the face , great shiner & loose tooth BTW , dammmmm thats early for me to be out in the bright sun, & the bleachers at the field are facing the morning sun, dammmm thats a bummer , so I moved behing the goal & watched from there , the sun was to my right & the smoke was drifting to my back so I was in the right spot to NOT offend some of the tree huggers who were there with there Gucci loafers Izod sweaters tied over there shoulders driving the Prerequsite BMW or Benz , complaining that the grass was still wet & why dont they get a snow blower & dry it out OMG I have grass on my Guccis , Dammmmmmm Yuppies , I thought they had all grown up by now & gotten a real life , But I guess not !
I probaly have enough money to drive what ever I want & have a fantastic wardrobe, But I am comfortable in jeans & a T shirt, yea I have a few Palm beach sport coats that get dusted off a few times a year & I do have bench made shoes, but I live in my New Balance cross trainers. ( yea like I am in training for some thing hahahah ) & yes I do have a Rolex Submarniner Anniv. edition, but it was a gift from my wife hahahaha ( on my credit card ) But I dont flaunt it at a kids scoccor game , Like I heard this Jerk say < dammmm I spilled coffee on my rolex , I would have said I was a clumsy oaf & spilled coffee on my self, end of story , & not gone on a long disertation of when will I find the time to go to the jewlers to have the band cleaned "PROFESSIONALY" ( and dont forget to flair your nostrols when you say it ) , Me I just hold my wrist under running water, dammmm the watch is clean ! well its almost time for me to get off the soap box, But one more thing , I dont like political talk , but I am going to get into a small explantion here
I just sent a few hundred cigars to the troops in Iraq, the gentleman who has a fine eating establishement down the street from me has a God son in Iraq, & he wanted some cigars for him, so he bought a few to send well I added a few slow movers fromm the shop & my stash here at home & we put together a box of close to 300 smokes , I dont want to get politiacl BUT the fact is we are there & they are just doing what they are told, No matter how you feel about what is going on & how congress is undermining our fighting men , I still support the Person on the ground, in the air & ON & Under the SEA , end of Rant !
Time for me to add the hot water to the coffee, fire up a Camacho select & pour a weeee dram of Irish & listen to some Jazz ! Enjoy, Vince

I sat on the front step and smoked a Padilla Miami Belicoso Fino with my morning coffee and enjoyed the view of our golf course with the fairways covered with a foot of snow (Yuk). It is almost May and I have not taken the golf clubs out of the basement yet. The Padilla Miami was a great cigar I give it 5 out of 6 smoke rings, I am going to order a box. I have had an extremely busy week, the anniversary of Columbine school shooting was on Friday and we had emails circulating throughout the students saying there was going to be a shooting in our school. I am an administrator (associate principal) and we spent the week calming parents and students, I am glad Friday came and went without any incidents occurring. When will the madness stop?

Spent the morning doing yardwork - lots of newly planted flower beds.

We're off to have dinner with some friends - then it will be kicking back at the fire pit, smoking a cigar or two.

Not a bad way to end a weekend!

It's a beautiful day here in good old Illinois today. The sun is shining brightly and temps are topping out at around 80. The only problem is that the sub-floor heat is still on. I called the association and they said it is set to go off automaticaly the first week of May. So in an attempt to keep the humis cool I've had to run the A/C all afternoon and it's still 75 in there. I put some frozen water pillows in there and that seems to help.
Anyway for breakfast this morning I had a Jave by Drew Estate., brunch was a 5 Vegas A. This afternoon's menu included a EO 601 and a La Aroma de Cubana Monarch. Dang I love Sundays!

Cybrus, I see your location is Ceder Key, did you move from da Burgh ?

Nope - just changed it up! Combines two of my favorites - Jimmy Buffett and Travis McGee!

Still in the Burgh - physically at least! My mind is often wandering the Caribbean.

Who is Travis McGee, Vince you can't be serious ?
That was my thought too!

Travis McGee - main character in a set of 20+ books by John D MacDonald. Made his living doing odd jobs and contract work while living off his house boat, the Busted Flush, in Florida. These books, and Travis himself, have taken on an almost cult following - if you get a chance, check a few of them out. It isn't necessary to read them in order, but it does help. The first one it titled "The Deep Blue Goodbye."

I havent been able to sit down & read a book in years, the time & consentration are just not there any more, the poor minds just wonders when I am sitting with out doing anything else, I know you will say whay mond, OK what little I have left !

Was a beautiful morning here. Up early and was able to sit on the back porch, read the paper, have a coffee and smoke a 5Vegas Series A Anomaly to the nubwithout interruption. Great way to start the morning. Then, the kids and wife started rustling about and it was time to get the bacon and pancakes on. Enjoy the day!

What a great weekend. I golfed Friday night, Saturday and have a teetime later today. I started the today with a Rocky Patel Sungrown what a great cigar that I received from dejoro (thanks Dennis) in a PIF. I accompied my cigar with a great cup of Uncle Beanz coffee that I received from Novasurf (thanks Norm), this is what life is all about. I can’t say enough about this forum and the great friends I have come to know, wish I was closer to everyone so I could get together to smoke cigars and visit.

good morning to you all , it is Sunday 29 April, 2007, what a Beautiful day here in da Burgh the sun is up & shining , no clouds & it is 62F at 10:37 am looking for a high of 70 today , NO RAIN, but the grass needs cut, & it isn't going to get it today , hahaha I have a full day of cigar tasting in front of me , a lot of coffee to drink & a hunk of beef to cook, why I might even pull the cork on a single malt if the feeling takes hold , Hummmm I wonder , do I want a Spayside, Highland ,Lowland Campbletown , or maybe some Irish whisky today just for a change , I have a bottle of Redbreast single malt Irish that is quite tasty , Kona , Diamond Crown #1 ( after I finish my morning Don Carlos #3 ) , starting soon I will be switching to the number 4 , seams like I am running out of #3's , so I need to stock pile a few more boxes to allow them to age a bit before I start to enjoy them . I just got off the phone with the grandsons looks like I will be in the Qtr.Deck with out them today they are going to go with there friends to the arcade & not come here , I get a break today hahahaha .
it has been a Busy week at the cigar shop, lots of back orders are hitting & I have been busy with the pricing & resetting the shelves , you wouldn't think that would be a tuff job , but product placement is very important, & with different sized boxes & different shapes the spacing gets all out of whack when a box is to big for the space on the shelf , sounds trivial but to run a good shop every thing should be in place & look like it is a seamless merger of the product , I know that you have been in shops that look like Murphy's Bargain Basement with stuff all over the place , But I want my shop to look like Tiffany's Diamonds & I take great pride in doing that , I had way to many years as a chef to put out an inferior product . So I dont !!
I have a pot of Columbian Supremo to make after the Sunday Morning Kona is gone , just a few more cups & it will be history & headed to the kidneys to mix with last nights scotch .
I still haven't picked up my new "OLD BIKE" a 23 year old Honda V45 with 17K on the clock, , it just never got ridden, well that will change soon I plan on spending a lot of time on the bad boy, a V4 with a shaft drive , should be a nice relaxing cruiser , the frame mounted factory faring will be going back on & the highway pegs moved out about 2 inches A new helmet & gloves & I will be good to go . Next is a CD player for the bike , dammmm cant go on a trip with out MUSIC, all the exaust noise will be behind me so I can listen to Miles,Bix & Coltrain as I glide down the highway.

I guess thats about all I have for you today , Maybe some thing else will pop in my poor over worked brain & I will post it asap ! Enjoy, Vince

well thats what the internet is all about , here I am in Da Burgh & you are in the great white north country Land of the midnight sun hahahaha & we are able to " talk" about anything we want, years ago I never thought much about getting a computer, but my daughter talked me in to it & this is my third machine ( 4th if you count the radio shack color computer with out internet connection) & I have been making friends & enimies all over the world, this is better than the CB radio I had years ago, , dammmmmthat was fun, 2 am fire up the 1500 Watt amp & talk to Tazmania or Japan , , but there was a problem with it , I wasnt able to use the amp during the day as I knocked TV signal off all the homes in my area & they would get Pissed off , so I had to wait till every one was in bed or not at home , I just rained signal on everything with in an eigth of a mile , This is much better & a lot safer, No FCC to bug me for being over powered !!!, Enjoy, Vince

I just enjoyed 2 tiny cigarillos w/a cuppa joe (not a morning smoker) to start my day off right. Think I'll be smoking an AF Gran Reserva after lunch and possibly one of the RP Vintage that travis sent me in my PIF (he sent both the 90 & 92) after dinner although I'm still considering a Grand Havana... I'll toss a coin when the time comes. Either way, it's gonna be a great day.

Had our first 100° day of the year yesterday, gonna be well into the 90s again today. Gotta love life in the desert.

WAY to hot for me , even with out the humidity, I think I would MELT ,just like a good hunk of chocolate ! hahaha

Vince, you silly old F''rt, get with the times, get the Ipod and go crusing. Get the grandkids to give you a briefing and a trial run.
I spent this weekend building a 20'x12', two level deck in my daughters back yard. That was after last weekend when I put the new swing/play set together.
It was some 10 yr Port and a Perdomo last night on the back porch.

yesterday was one of those rare days, a two cigar day. I busted my hump in the morning getting the pad ready for an open house at one. I had to replace a door knob and some weather stripping before anyone came by. Sounds easy enough, but the I realized that i had to cut a two inch hole int he dorr and I didn't have hole cutter, so 35 bucks later and a slow go of cutting the plug out I got the thing in. Then I had to put up a storm door. I was going to leave it off and wauit for the next time, but my stpe father talked me into it and in under an hour we had it up after we had already screwed up putting on the hinges in the wrong side. I had a bout a half hour before the open house when it was suggested that I then give the lawn a quick mow, and everyone took off on me and left me to sweep out the house and mow the lawn in under half an hour. Well I got it done, but it was rushed before the realtor got there to set up shop. After all that we only had one person come by for the open house. for the love of god just one person. Ugh! Well lets just hope that it only takes one person to look at the house and love it. I need this thing sold and fast.

So I did get to enjoy a Torano signature while I took the dog for a walk in the park to get him out of the house for the open house. It had a lot of the same attributes as the CAO brazilia, but lacks the richness and complexity and had a bitter finish. It reminded me of bakers chocolate. Some of the flavours that you like , but the overall product is less than desired.

When I got home we had over some friends and family for a cook out (but everyone was indoors as it was cloudy and cold outside). I had to man the grill outside, so it was a great time for a cigar. I had a K Hanosita Silver label signature. It was pretty good, but had problems staying lit. Well aged tobacco flavour. Medium body, pretty smooth. Not bad.
