JULY 1 2007, Good morning cigar world & fellow lovers of the leaf, it is a Beautiful day here in da Burgh I just got my lazy formerly fat @$$ out of bed & had some French toast with bacon for breakfast , I am a Bit tired this morning for some strange reason, all day yesterday I spent sitting around, sipping coffee & smoking cigars ( no different than any other day ) but this was my nephews Graduation party so I got to BS to a lot more people than normal & it just wore me out hahahahaha , I took 2 bundles of cigars with me (to pass out to the guests & recent graduates ) & a travel humidor full of good stuff for my self & a few other real cigar smokers , by the end of the night I ran out of even the dog rockets !
A few people ended up in the pool still dressed , lucky I was not one of them, I hate to ruin a fine cigar ! the local Vol. Fire dept was in attendance & a few were drinking some what heavy when a fire call came in, NO one left , if they have been drinking they dont go on a call, so everyone turned up the radios & listened to what was going on , some one coming home from an afternoon at the mall rammed her own garage & the roof fell in on the car & she was trapped ! YES she is BLOND !!!!
Friday night at the shop was jumping, not an empty seat in the house I got the doors locked just before 11 PM & was home before 20 after, , it was a GOOD night at the shop, but I had a lot to do Saturday morning , up early & cooking a lot of pasta , chicken & making a few different salads & a crock of Baked beans
Hey no wonder I have gas this morning hahahaha
15 Pounds of Rigatoni , 6 pounds of macaroni salad 10 pounds of potato salad , 40 pounds of chicken wings ,a roaster full of hot sausage onions & peppers , dammmm I thought I had retired , BUT it was FUN !
the grandsons were there & a lot of other relatives from all sides of the familys , No one was drunk enough to fight when I was there, but we left about 11 PM , & I havent had a chance to talk to anyone yet this morning to see what damage was done after I left , I just hope there is a few fire men still able to respond to any calls today , some of them wer realllllly smashed when we left last night
I get today off, no cooking for me other than breakfast , we are headed to the Ellwood City arts fest & will get some thing there ,what ever it is I am glad I dont have to cook today, dammmm I am out of practice , a few years ago I could have knocked yeasterday mess out in a few hours & had a great time doing it, put I am a lot slower , & dammmmm I am sore as I have been in a long time , that dammmm pasta pot full of water is one heavy SOB, my groin is telling me all about it this morning.
I did get some good news , My bike is ready to be picked up so I just might get it today , if we dont go to Ellwood, well maybe on the way home from Ellwood, hummmmm sounds like a plan to me
Thats about all I have from da Burgh this week, who knows I might remember some thing later to tell you about ! Enjoy, Vince

Good morning all , it is Sunday 8 July 07 & it is just past 10 am her in da Burgh with a high of 91 F predicted today I plan on staying close to the A/C , I didn't go for my usual morning walk with a Don Carlos #3 & I haven't gone since last Tuesday morning, last Tuesday I stopped after work to pick up a new MC helmet , as mine has seen better days & the dammmmm thing is to big to fit right anyhow so I ordered a new one a few weeks ago & am finally remembering to pick it up, so I get it & am walking out the door when I trip over the Shitzu "guard dog", dammmm little dog, , I must be accident prone due to balance related ( not good for being on a Motorcycle hahaha ) , seams like I am always falling down or tripping over some thing, , maybe its the trifocals , I might just not be able to see what the hell is right in front of me , I just dont know, well I am bruised , battered & embarrassed , my right ankle got twisted, & is the color of a storm cloud , both knees are swelled & bruised as are both elbows & I scratched my Brand new lid before I had a chance to put the face shield on it ! dammmmm little dog, & then the mutt comes over to play with me when I am spread all over the ground , maybe I should put back the 200 pounds I lost , then I would have SQUASHED that little mutt ! , OH well better day are coming, I rode to work Friday & it was FABULOUS, a great ride, home at 11 PM , slow & easy , never went over 45 MPH, just enjoying the night air , the only bad thing about the bike, NO coffee or cigars when I am riding , just dont have enough hands to do everything .
We had our 4th of JULY celebration last night since everyone had to work WED. & just after dark the police showed up for some reason , dammmm I woinder if it was the fire works that we had been shooting off for the past 25 minutes , my son in law got a permit signed by the president of city council ( I wonder what that cost ) , well the cops were bewildered, that was some thing they had never seen or heard of before , so we went back to shooting the rest of the stuff just after they left & it was all over by the time they got back hahahaha !!!!
sales at the shop are going UP & UP every month , stock is starting to run a little low & a lot of stuff we were ordering is on back order , all kinds of new brands for the shop & inventory is going through the roof but some of the old standbys seam to be lost in the madness for some thing new & exciting, , I have been smoking a lot of new brands & new expressions of old brands & still havent found anyting I like better with my morning coffee than Don Carlos #3 , size & taste are just what I want them to be , & it never gets boring, a Wonderful way to start the day.
I dont plan on cooking much of anything today with a high in the 90's I think I will just cut up a watermellon some peaches plums & apples maybe a banana & add a few grapes & some almonds a light sour cream or yogert dressing & that will be it for the day, I did make a hot pepper cheese omlet for the boss & myself this morning but that is the last time I will be firing up any heat in the kitchen today, next stop will be going out to the Qtr.Deck & turn on the A/C , time to make a pot of Sumatra , the Kona was just fine this morning but I want some thing a we bit bolder for the Sancho Panzo q-ban torp I have for my afternoon smoke .
thats about all I have for you this Sunday Morning, if some thing comes to mind that I forgot about I will try to get it posted before I forget , dammmm getting old is tuff on all of us , watching the fireworks last night with my Grandson sitting on my lap, ( yes I now have a lap for him to sit on ) I remember sitting with my grandfather watching firworks when I was 9 or 10 , dammmm I still feel 9 or 10 now , with all the band aids on my elbows & knees , all I need is a skateboard, hahaha, but dont worry about that , if I do you guys just might be reading my obituary, MY wife would kill me ! hahaha . Enjoy, Vince

Good afternoon, Vince, and everyone on the Cigar.com/AmBack forums!!! Vince, I've been quite worried about you, since there's an awful lot of people in your area with knee deep water in their homes. Flash floods raged throughout Western PA yesterday, and folks in Aliquippa aren't doing so good today. My prayers are with them all.

Vince, glad to hear about things at the shop, but yes, whatever happened to all the old stand by brands? Every time I read something here about the cigars folks are smoking, the names are something new every week, or so it seems.

By the way, you DO know what you have when you cross a Shih-Tzu with a Jack Russell, don't you?

Oh, and a friend of mine saw a Puggle for the first time the other day and was bewildered. I told him they are an official breed, and although I've never seen one in person, I've seen pictures and the in person encounter must indeed have been strange. I guess it was, because he was still shaking his head when he was telling me about it.

Cigars, cigars, cigars, big European Tour track meet on later today. I am indeed hankering for a cigar, but alas, as I tried to increase my cigar smoking during the spring, right up until the time I moved in to my new apartment, they ALL seem to kick so hard, even the ones I've been aging for years.

Oh well, Vince lost 200 pounds, and I may be losing my ability to smoke a cigar, but I'm not dead yet, so I'll keep trying. Have a great day everyone, it's going to be a hot one here, 95 if it's a degree, which may render me completely useless. My old, creaky body just can't take any heat at all. Someone turn it down to 42 degrees, please.

Bloof old boy I had no idea that Aliquippa made the national news , dammm it is where I grew up , but down town Quip is nothing like it was, , when the steel mill was king in the area everything was busy , deportment stores , long before wally fart & K fart , I am taking about a big store with a guy running the elevator just like you see in the old Black & White movies, now that place is a High rise low income apt.building , the banks have moved from the glass & marble towers of splendor to small little office that used to be a dry cleaner , the delis are gone altogether , dammmm I miss the corned beef , , the funny thing about this flood is all the improvements made to the roads & paving of all the parking lots , all that rain just didn't have any soil to seep into , storm drains get plugged & soon all the rain falling on the hill is washing down the main street, it is still a real mess, , it was the towns Fire chiefs last day on the job, he was going to retire , But now he is staying on to go out with a day of rest under his belt ! , Aliquippa is about 10/12 miles from me , just a quick trip up the highway from the cigar shop in Monaca we drove by one day this week & the main street( Franklin Ave ) is still blocked off & there is a fine powder of dried mud on EVERYTHING , the Salvation Army HQ was damaged , so it looks like the Red Cross will be aiding the Salvation Army in this disaster.
I didn't think this was making national news but surprise , surprise it did !

Enjoy, Vince

LMAO

I wish I could claim that as an original joke, but when my ex-girl was walking her pug many years ago, she ran in to a guy who had one. Yup, that's what he called it. First word's Jack, and the second one's . . .

I report, you decide, hee, hee, heee!!!

correction its was not a shitzu , it was a lapso apso, so I guess you need to change all the jokes hahahaha

Ahhhhhhh yes, the Lahsa Apso, not to be confused with the Bichon Frise, which is not to be confused with celebrity women, known individually as thebitchonfreeze.

By the way Vince, had a Macanudo lately?

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHAHAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

it has been a long time since I had a mac, I did have a mac robust a few months ago, but I havent had the orginal white box mac in a few years, hummmmm maybe monday at work, ...... Naaaa I think I will pass, hahahaha Enjoy, Vince

if my name was darel lamonicia AKA the mad bomber , I just might try that ! hahaha ( for all you young guys out there he was a Q Back for the Raiders back when Football was TUFF & no one made a million bucks a year

I don't believe that I made it out of Penns Woods alive last week. So I plan to go to Newell WV to visit the HL Pottery factory on last Thursday and guess what happens, The Hundred Year Flood. On the way there I get off of Rt 60 at the Ambridge exit in the middle of a serious rain storm. My brother send me down Chapel road, through a foot of water, to pick him and his wife up for the trip. We head through some town (Midland ?) who also has a foot of water in the main street. We had to take two different detors to get home. When we checked the rain gage at my brothers house after we finnaly got home it showed in excess of 7 inches. What's with the darn weather in Western Pa. As you know I didn't get to the cigar shop. Streets were closed, etc, etc. Maybe next time. I am glad you didn't get washed off of the top of your hill.

Dammmm you were that close & didnt call, I grew up in Aliquippa , worked in Ambridge & Midland , , My sister in law lives just off Chapel Road & its only a few miles from the cigar shop in Monaca , & Thursday night I was sitting in the Qtr.Deck smoking a contraband R&J that you gave me last time you were in town , well I smoked it during the Rain, didnt want it to get wet if we got flooded ! , if you brother is on Chappel road tell him to stop at the shop ! 1106 Penna Ave Monaca !
Enjoy, Vince

I was ready to stop by but was out voted. Something about two old sailers sitting and telling lies while smoking stinkey cigars. I waved and said hello when we went by the Bar on the corner. Is the new shop in the same place as the old shop ? Maybe next trip. Glad you enjoyed that RyJ. Since I have quite traveling those cigars will be few and far between.

We are now at 1106 Penna Ave in Monaca, phone is 724-774-5166 , just accross the river from Rochester, new partner, new furniture, NO kids in the shop, no cartoons on the TV, no PBJ on the floor !

Right in the shop , the guy down the street delivers !

Goooooood Morning , it is Sunday 15 July 2007, we survived an another week on this rock 3 plants from the sun, & it is a Wonderful cool but humid morning here in da Burgh , a busy week at the shop & here at home , work ,work , work, its never done , I dont know how I can get through an other week hahahahaha, I was laying on my hammock out side the cigar shop, & I hear a voice, "Shouldn't you be selling cigars or some thing like that ?" , my reply was I am selling cigars & a life style !!!!, it was Gerry the owner of the shop hahahaha , dammmm caught taking a break , AGAIN !!!! hahahaha .
The Grandsons were here Thursday & Friday & NOTHING got broke, now thats a FIRST !!! 2 boys 9 & 11 , well they just have a knack of making a mess of some thing & these 2 are no exception, but this time, No spilled drinks,no broken cups , no crayons left on the kitchen floor to be stepped on , & no bucket of water sitting on top the door hahahaha ...
I did get my self to the doc , dammm I put on 7 pounds, looks like it is back to the tofu & fruit & passing on the cookies AGAIN !!!!

Last night was the second annual Slippery Rock Cigar & BBQ extravaganza , I won a box of cigars traded it for a second box, traded it for a third box & traded that for a Bottle of McCallen 12 YO , every one got what they wanted & I got a weeeee dram to sip, but the bottle never made it home, there was a leak in the bottle or it evaporated what ever happened to it I have no idea hahahahaha , BUT IT WAS GOOOOOOOD !, we did the POD cast with a LGC toro maduro, it was OK but not near as fine or as strong as I had hoped for comming off a Mag. 46 H.Upman contraband cigar I guess it was a let down , a good cigar but not good enough to stand up a real bueaty of a smoke like the upman
it has been a strange week weather wise, HOT & humid , rain one day cool & breezy the next , we did get a few drops last night at the BBQ but nothing that made anything wet .
I am still bruised & humbled by the little MUTT that I tripped over , dammmmm I still hurt when I move .... Just call me Grace hahaha
both knees & ankels are banged up, Purple is the new skin tone!

I havent been cooking all that much the past few weeks , but today I will be in the kitchen, the A/C is on & I will be looking for a Hunk of BEEF , yep thats whats for chow today, , I might just need to fire up the grill & singe a bit 'o beef today, can you say MOOOO boys & girls , Sure I know you can" M O,O,O,O,O,", it has been way to hot to cook the past few days but today I need a break from all the work at the shop & sipping a weee dram or 2 every day so Today I will relax with a Chefs Knife , some veggies & a nice big hunk of BEEF!

I havent been on the bike much this past week just to dammm wet & way to hot for a leather jacket & helmet , I might ride with out the jacket not never with out the lid ! Thas all my wife needs is taking care of a MORE brain damaged husband than I all ready am hahahaha , but think of all the money we would save, no single malt, no cigars no coffee, dammmmmm just shhooooot me

this gets me to a subject that came up on last nights pod cast,
BREASTS : real or "Enhanced" , well it makes no difference to ME all I want is ACCESS !
I will await you thoughts on this subject !!! Enjoy, Vince

My thought is this: You don't need to worry about the heat today either, Vince!!! I mean, since your recipe for beef is Knock The Horns Off, Whip Its Ass And Serve It, you won't need to do any real cooking, so the house will stay nice and cool for you today, as well.

And yes, you gave the owner of the shop the right answer. You're not just selling cigars, you're selling life style, image, it's a package, and a photo of you relaxing on a hammock should be up on the front door of the shop, a big poster sized photo. I predict sales would zoom upward by at least 30%. Upon seeing that as they walk in, people would be thinking . . .

I wannabe like THAT guy in da pitcha!!!
