What Did You Smoke Today

3. Camacho Coyolar Rothschild (thanks Zandor for mentioning this cigar the other day. I have not given it a go in a while and it was great)
It's funny you mention the Rothschild- that's the one size I haven't had! I'll have to toss a couple in with my next order. Have you tried the perfecto #1 yet? That cigar starts out as about the fiercest cigar I've ever smoked. Once you get past the skinny part it smooths out, but from about 1/4" to 3/4" in it's really intense. Once you get into it it's similar to the Super Toro, though of course it doesn't last as long. I've taken to calling the perfecto a "C-Bomb".

Tonight's been a Rocky Patel night for me. First an REO Robusto, then a Vintage '92 Toro. (both Friday special Cigars...) I don't think I'll smoke another one tonight, but if I did I think I'd have to smoke an Edge. Keep the Rocky Patel & Friday Special run going lol.

Yesterday after a not so hard - but long day at work, I noticed that the sun was out and it was just a beautiful day. I start work rather early so its usually the afternoon when I'm off for the day. I went to my humidor and pulled out the Gurkha Regent; I had never had one before. It looked very smooth and felt nice and silky. I pulled out my torch and unfortunately, it ran out of fluid. This sent me on a panic to find my matches (I didn't want it to run as it was not lit all the way yet). I found the matches in no time at all and continued to lite. Once I had a nice cherry, I blew out any gases likely to be within the stick. I proceeded to take a first draw and wow! What a first impression! Right away I could taste an amazingly powerful arrangement of flavors. I was even more impressed with its finish, which was surprisingly subtle, but very lasting. I am not very good at determining what each of the flavors are in a cigar, but there was a nice presence of leather and pepper. This cigar held true to all of this for the entirety of the smoke. I would totally recommend this cigar with a Cabernet Sauvignon to compliment the full amount of flavors.

A box of Padron 1964 Imperial natural just turned two years old today in my humidor so I just had to smoke. Absolutely increadable.

I have a box of 1926 #6 maduro that will be turning two just in time for the Cigar-B-Q.....

Smoked my first Gurkha Boer last night. Can't say I liked it or hated it really. I found it to be the mildest cigar I've ever smoked.

I have a few Boers in my humidor, and have smoked a couple of them. Not terribly impressed, really. Now the Ancient Warrior is a nice stick, and takes me a while to smoke, and the Nepalese Warriors, mmm baby.

Of course, they all cost way too much for what they are.

i love the boers! if you guys dont like them, i know a guy who does that could smoke em for ya...pm me for info

Sorry PSI, I only had the one I got from the "Cigar of The Month Club."

Just received my shipment of 20 Pueblo Dominicano's today. Just had to sit out in the yard this evening watching all the boater's playing in the lake and throwing the tennis ball for my black lab Cooper"the mooch". while puffing on a torpedo. What a great smoke. Wonder if they will age well. I am trying different smokes to age. Any idea's will be appreciated.

im aging a couple, from taste it seems they might age well, plus they've got quite a diverse set of fillers from different places which i think should bode well for aging

Yesterday I had some nice sticks for my birthday:

AF Work of Art maduro
Cohiba robusto
Opus X Forbidden X
Bolivar Belicosos Finos

RP Connecticut. I knew it was going to be mild but just not my thing. Burned great and did have a nice flavor, light vanilla flavor that was a little sweet on the tongue. It was to mild for me.

 Nice smokes.

How long did you let that WOA rest? And, what did you think of it?

Oh, and how 'bout a review on the Forbidden X?

I sparked up a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Maduro I got for Christmas last night. The person who gave me these sticks, through a nice guy, knows nothing about cigars. He bought them in early November and wrapped them to give me in the start of January. Needless to say they were a bit dry by the time I opened the package. I slowly dehumidified them over the next few months until they looked and felt normal again. Looks can be deceiving. The cigar was not anything like it used to be. The taste was just off. It still had some of the mellow chocolate flavors, but lost most of its body. It was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed it for what it was anyway.

Yesterday on the ride home I had a Indian Tobac Fire robusto. Pre- light was sweet and almost menthol. KInda like chewing tobaco. It had a very dark wrapper, slightly veiny, but a nice light sheen to it. On the first draw it was chewing tobacco on the front, a little bite on the finish. This was an overdone maduro. Too much fermentation, prehaps to cover up for cheap filler. It was ok. The draw was pretty good. The burn was ok, but I wasn't too impressed with the flavour. It did not hold an ash at all. It fell pretty quickly. I wouldn't buy these again.

For those of you who I had sent these out in a PIF, or trade or Bday package; I'm sorry. I hadn't tried these before. I won't send them out again.

had an Arturo Fuente curly head earlier today and now sitting here with my girlfriend enjoying the beatufiful weather outside this evening smoking a Arturo Breava while my GF enjoyed a CAO gold honey petite (she's trying to graduate to the real deals,,,,lol)

oh yeah,,,,beer too!!

I sparked a CAO Brizilia corona. I have to say I was a bit dissapointed. I've heard them taked up so i picked up a few singles. I just was not blown away. Lets see whats some age can do to um.

The WOAM had been resting for nearly 8 months and was great. It developed more spice and smoothness (if that's even possible with a Fuente), and it lost the little acridity that it had.

The Forbidden was just as enjoyable as the last time I had one. Think of a well-aged, slightly mellowed Opus. I'm a stickler for proper storage conditions and this cigar is a prime example of why. The burn was flawless and every time I ashed the ash fell off flat against the cherry.
That's another reason why I space these babies out so far between smokes, they burn so well that other smokes might pale in comparison.
It's a cigar that like an Opus must be respected by giving it all of your attention.
