What Did You Smoke Today

Last Thursday, played a round of golf. Started with a Fuente Hemmingway Short Story. Finished off with a Gurkha Legend robusto 6 x 50.

Played lousy, but the Short Story and Legend more than made up for it.

I just smoked a "The Edge" that Jesse52 gave me. Kicked my butt from start to finish, and I knew it would from the moment I tasted it....before it wass even lit!
Banihex, I love the Edges. I had one Saturday night sitting by the campfire and, half-way through it, my feet and my brain stopped communicating. Just an awesome smoke!

As for tonight, I just finished a Padron 3000. Sat out on the deck with a glass of wine and enjoyed this one very much.

Went up to Tahlequah to float the Illinois River this past weekend. Three days of drinking beer, eating awesome camp food, floating around in rafts, and of course, smoking great stogies.

I don't know how I've lived in OK 10 years and not made it up there before. It's some really beautiful country, and it's only about 3 hours away.

I took a brand new 15ct cigar caddy, and on my boat, I was the only one with dry tobacco. The cigarette smokers started to get grouchy after a couple hours of no dry smokes, so I saved the day with some cigar.com cuban labels.

I was also pretty proud of my rescue work. As we came around a fast bend in the river, the canoe in front of us (a family we didn't know) managed to jam itself under a fallen tree, whereupon the current pushed it under and swamped it. I immediately beached our raft and made for the swamped canoe. After getting the younger boy on shore, getting the canoe out from under the snag, moving it across the fast channel, and emptying it out, I realized that I had done the whole thing with a lit cigar- and it was still dry and puffing away merrily! Who's a bad@$$ now?!!

Nice story...

I would tell you about what happened to me this past weekend canoing on the Tahlequah but I don't what to steal your thunder

An Edge Corojo right after lunch and got a Padron 1964 Exclusivo Maduro for after dinner. Life is good.

Just got back from my GF's sis's wedding. Brought a box of AF Flor Fina 8-5-8...Good time was had by all.

Left the Padron for another day and sampled a CAO CX2 that I have had sitting in my humi for about three months now. Got another in the cigar of the month club a few days ago so I figured the other was expendable and it was a good call for sure.

I stink at reviewing cigars so bear with me....This was constructed very well, burned perfectly and tasted absolutely wonderful, somewhat earthy with some wood flavor to it near the end, nice and strong but mellow at the same time, I would definitely smoke these again. After knowing that mine sat for three months in my humi I am going to try and stock up and age a few and see if they get better, I am thinking they will.

Excellent in every way, perfect way to end my night sitting outside alone with this beauty. Sorry Fargo, I didn't get the opportunity to munch an insect while I smoked...maybe next time

I went to the smoke shop today to pick up a few standard sticks (sancho panza, hoyos, and the like) when i saw they were having a sale.
no harm in looking.
La Vieja Habana by drew estates.
cool
$1 each

so i got a few.
Much better than the $1 i paid. sweet smooth maduro. Rich taste but not over powering. I sat there puffing away wondering why they were on sale. the original price was only $2. I would pay for that.
anyone else try these? how about the ambrosia?

Last night while watching the Yankees beat the Redsox AGAIN...I had a Cusano Corojo 97 and a couple Sol Beers. Pretty good...only bad part...little bit of a tight draw.

i had a fonseca this evening. Ah, it was just ok i thought. Still getting into cigars, but this one didn't tickle my fancy? Anybody else have thoughts on it? Should it have been good, am i missing something?

Smoked a Fuente Anejo no.48 while playing a round of golf last night.

Once again, my golf game sucked (as I lost 3 balls to the golf-ball-eating forest off a single tee). But that Anejo hit the spot.

Tonight I sat out on the deck and smoked a Punch Rare Corojo Rothschilde and a Padron 64 Anniversary Principe, back-to-back. The wife just didn't understand why I spent 2 hours sitting outside with a big-ass grin on my face!

Just finished a CAO Black, I guess it was the Storm. It was in a sampler that I bought 2 months back or so. First time smoking the Black line.
I was pretty impressed overall, although I had a technical difficulty.
Upon lighting, the wrapper split from the foot up about a half inch or so, I was thinking, uh-oh, but it burned well through that.
I was getting cedar(I know it's wrapped in it, and I DID remove it, lol), white pepper, and a nice tobacco flavor. At about the mid point, I started to get dark toast, and believe it or not, peanuts. I was still holding the whole ash at this point!
I ashed, and the dark toast and pepper continued to dominate, until I nubbed it, and I mean nubbed....
Good smoke!

Big weekend. I tried my first Butera Vintage and I was pretty disspointed. Today I finished with a Tradicion Perdomo X and a Davidoff Anniversario No. 3 which was a collosal dissapointment.

This weekend included an H. Upmann, Cusano 18 Dbl. Conn., an Olor Fuerte Robusto and a Victor Sinclair Primeros Aero which I got in a PIF from jhopephulle. Not a bad smoke in the lot!!

Last night after one of the biggest ribeyes I have ever put a knife to I smoked a La Aurora 1495 Belicoso. Man this is fast becoming my favorite cigar, unbelievably good, this thing seemed to keep changing taste and intensity with every third or fourth draw from it. I don't know if this would have been so good after a light meal, more than likely I would have got the spins, lol. Can't say enough about how much I like these smokes.

Today I smoked a RP Vintage 1992 Toro, a Partagas Black Label Clasico and a Camacho Corojo Cetros. While I enjoyed each one of these cigars immensely I was still thinking about that La Aurora and how great that smoke was. My hat is off to Jose Blanco.

After 3+ days (forgot what I smoked last wed) of medium brown cigars I finally fired up a maduro today, and man that Onyx reserve was good. If I remember right maduro means "ripe", and that cigar pretty much hit the whole ripe thing on the head. Along with a rich, smooth ripe flavor, it even smelled ripe before I lit it. As in, it smelled a bit rotten. Tasted great though.
