What Did You Smoke Today

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an original release 97' Fundadore. It was an unreal cigar, the more recent ones I've had are very good too. I got a few of the Dominicans in a sampler a long time ago and was not impressed with them at all. I've been letting the other couple age lost somewhere in the depths of one of the humis. One day when I'm not looking to be wow'd I'll pull one out and may be pleasently suprised.

Just smoked a Nestor Reserve Maduro Torpedo.

I can tell that my palate is progressing. I understand that metallic taste that some people describe when smoking some maduros. The first 3/4 of an inch of this cigar had that metallic taste to it. Then it faded and there was no more hint of it the rest of the cigar. I like these cigars though, I only have like 8 left from the 25 I bought a couple months ago. It left me with a nice buzz. :D

Got my first look at the new Padilla 1932 that is set for release this fall. Holly Cow it is the richest cigar I think I hav ever smoked. Extremely full flavored and also full bodied. Made by Pepin Garcia (tatuaje, padilla miami). This is a very unique cigar. Look for a full review on the blog today.

Also, smoke the Padilla Habano. Not a bad smoke. Fairly standard.

Wife and i just moved into our new place and smoked these out on our terrace while enjoying som Macallan and some Jazz. What a great night.

Sol Cubano Sumatra robusto

I just got these but i had to try one. It started rough with a bitter taste but, this could have been my lighting technique. Had a great even burn throughout. Half way through I got a wonderful vanilla taste. Then in the last 2 inches it heated up and went soft and mostly tastless. I'm going to let the rest spend some quality time in the humi.

I'm a big fan recently of the Sol Cubanos. Cerberus - give the maduro a shot if you have the chance. The best one of the three IMHO. My last smoke was w/ a cup of java and it was great start to finish...

Had a good solid RP Sungrown last night to ride out the power outage. Overall it was a very nice smoke. Glad i have a few more resting.

I was very lucky today, I managed to smoke two cigars while working out in the yard. First, a CI Lonsdale(?), great mild smoke, and then an RYJ Maduro torp - good power house with lots of spice!

Had a busy day at work today so I'm glad I smoked a Chateau Fuente sungrown beforehand. We did 160 covers for lunch and a little more than that for dinner.
We also had a wedding party of 185 outside which I also helped out with before dinner service.
I just washed the kitchen off of me and I'm about to light up a Montecristo Nº2.
Glad I have Sunday off, but not really. I love it when it's busy!

Smoked a Roxor Connecticut Robusto. The bands on these things look too much like the XBOX logo for me to take it seriously. But the cigar was decent. Full review available on blog.

Just got finished with a Oliva "O" Classic Ole. Very nice looking cigar that started off with a nice mild cedar flavor that lasted half way through then gave way to a nice spicy finish. Overall a good cigar for the morning cup of joe.

I'm taking a page out of Vince's book and smoking a Don Carlos with my morning coffee, even though it's now noon
I spent the whole morning fabricating some ducks. I'll smoke 6 of the breasts this afternoon, and use the other 6 towards the end of this week.
I also rendered all of the fat, then prepared confit with the legs & thighs. Needless to say my house smells pretty damn good right now!
I've smoked about 1 inch of this DC Robusto and the burn has been flawless thus far.

I smoked a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 today while mowing the lawn. My expectations were a bit high for this cigar. Nice oils with sweet cedar and tea notes. Overall, I would say it was a decent cigar but not one that I'm really looking to buy a box of later on.

I had a little get together at my house, and smoked a Bolivar Belicoso Fino (cuban), and then had an Opus X xxx. Both great cigars to go along with great company and great food!

Right now I am about half way through an unbanded stick that came to me from Banni.... I don't know anything about it but as of right now I can honestly say that it is pretty good. A few burn issues but nothing that can't be dealt with. Ash is a little loose but gives a lot of white smoke a very nice aroma and as is gets closer to my fingers it gets a little more spice and kick to it. Nice smoke....THANK YOU Banni..

had a brazilia gol tonight, good cigar, not great, i've had a couple of the churchill sized brazilias before and i liked them much better...seemed to be a bit richer...and this gol had a tighter draw than i prefer

also had a perdome estate selection, not a vintage...but it was very good, gobs of smoke great draw...as has been my experience with a lot of perdomos, this cigar really showed the importance of some time resting in the humidor...i had one of these about 3 weeks after going into the humi and i didnt like it at-was extremely disappointed. This same cigar that i had tonight, had about 4 or 5 months of time in the humi and it was fantastic

I managed to get two cigars in today! Wahoo!! I smoked an RyJ Rothchild to see how far along in the aging they are - it was very good, but will be even better in about 2 or 3 months, and then a Montecristo Afrique Toro - smoked it untill I burnt my fingers, what a great cigar!!

A great day to all of you!!

I started off the day with a Sol Cubano Connecticut while doing some landscaping work. A nice change of pace with cream and vanilla notes. I marinated some chicken overnight and threw that on the grill while having a Bud Light. After dinner and some homemade S'mores I am now smoking a Partagas Spanish Roasao Mitico which had a nice spice yet is still very smooth.

After a long day at work (making up for vacation time!) I had a pretty young Choix Supreme - 1st half was a little rougher than normal - the second half smoothed out nicely. All in all I still love that cigar.

BTW - Chris - I like the new avatar - I'm a pretty big Dali fan - great choice.
