What Did You Smoke Today

Yesterday I had a CAO Maduro. Nice smoke, very smooth all the way through with a nice even burn. Right now I am having a Gurkha Regent in my office, I have had several in the past but this is probably one of the better I have smoked out of the batch, it has been sitting for about a year now.

I tried to re-smoke that HdM Dark Sumatra last night, and it just wasn't ready for prime time. I guess its time to move on.

5 Vegas Maduro is on deck for today or tomorrow....should be fine!

It wasn't green, but the wrapper was still very pale brown.
No the wrapper, but the taste. Was it a ready smoke like the PSD4's or does it require some (more than 3 years) of aging.

Last night I visited an old friend; Cusano 18 (toro size). I usually stay away from milder cigars now as I prefer something full bodied and full flavored; but this guy is still a real good stick. The prelight drew was of dried fruits and woodsy. The cigar did not change much; but it was creamy heaven. Really smooth and easy going with toasty notes and a touch of sweetness, but not much. The burn was near perfect; not one touch up even though it started out uneven. The draw was perfect; real easy, not too loose, not tight at all. Never got hot or bitter. Now I remember why these are such good cigars. Even though my tastes have changed, it was still fun to go down memory lane with this stick.

IMHO, it definitely needs aging. At least a few years to come into its own.

So since it was about 72* here today at lunch, i went up to the B&M ang picked up a La Flor Dominicana El Jocko. Absolutely wonderful little smoke. I think this may be my permanent solution to the Short Story shortage around here. Everything about that smoke was great--- Great light, draw, feel, body and finish. I'll be buying more of those-- lots more.

Chip,
Those El Jockos have always been a great little smoke IMHO.
Also try the Camacho Coyolar Perfectos if you can....

Nat Sherman La Guardia...It was finally a day nice enough to sit on my deck and smoke.

Sitting in my office smoking a VIP Peterson Gran Reservea Toro. Very nice smoke, could use a little more aging though.

Today I smoked a Bolivar Churchill gifted to me by our good friend, Bikeman. it had a nice leather flavor to it and an excellent burn. It was a huge smoke and managed to get through most of it before it got too cold for me outside.

Thanks again, Gordon.

That is one fine smoke to be sure brother, I am glad you enjoyed it.

Yesterday I smoked a Tatuaje Cabaiguan. It was a very good smoke, but not one of my favorites. I can see why people like them, it had a perfect ash, and lots of good tobacco flavors.

love those cabiaguans gordo...today i had a fonseca cubano limitado....lil short belicoso...was actually a really good smoke

Smoked a Gran Habano Three Siglo Torpedo a couple days ago. Maybe the best cigar I have smoked in a month, I loved it. It's one of those cigars I kept seeing and thought to myself I need to try it and never did and now that I have...I bought three more the next day.

Nice taste, great construction, flawless burn. What more to say?

Today was a great two smoke day for me. The weather was absolutely wonderful. We have had rain for the past week in Sacramento and yesterday and today were both near 70 degrees. So glad to see the sun. Anyways, I sparked up a brilliant RP 92 torpedo this morning while cleaning out the garage. Later in the day while mowing the lawn I lit up a Partagas Black label maximo. That little beauty was still going after an hour of cutting and edging the lawn. Got a chance to sit back and finish the smoke with a Heineken before the sun went down. Now its off to watch the Kings and Trailblazers game. What to smoke after the game....decisions, decisions!!! It just may be a La Flor Chisel night.
