What Did You Smoke Today

Ahhh, Karaoke Thursday down at Big Nose Kate's Saloon. I'll mock the wannabees while enjoying a Monte A.

A RP Egde Maduro torpedo. Unfortunately I was in and out of work and it went out a few times. Usually a relight is fine for me, but this turned nasty after a few relights.

I just burned a Camacho Corojo maduro figurado (6x54, basically a fat torpedo). I've been a big fan of the line since they came out, but up until I bought a couple figurados all I'd had were the robustos. I think I like the flavor of the robustos a little better, but sometimes the bigger stick is still better.

I just smoked my oldest cigar to celbrate the beginning of spring. It was very good - a Monticristo Victoire tubo from 2004 - lots of good tobacco flavors, and an hour well spent!

lol, Gordo...if its spring up there in the great white north, it must be the dead of summer here, lol

just had a JFR robusto walkin the dog, this was a great stick, i think im gonna get a cab...started off real sweet then went to good old pepin spice and earth...it actually reminded me a lot of an amped up cabaiguan, i couldnt help but think if you took off the corojo wrapper and put the cabaiguans ct shade on it, youd have damn near the same cigar, which reminds me, i need some more cabaiguans too

Last night I had an OpusX Perfecxion #2 which had a decent burn and a great flavor. I smoked it while chatting on the forum last night. For those who haven't been on live chat, I'd highly suggest it.

Last night ... apparently a number of us smoked last night and waited till this morning to mention it :) ... I had an Acid Liquid.

I know, Acid aren't really favored in many circles. And even I was hesitant to try another after my experience with the sugary Kuba Kuba. But I figured, Acids are well made smokes (again, a perfect draw and burn), maybe there's one I'll dig in a different line. So I bought a Liquid. A robusto from their "Red" line.

And while the reviews on cigar.com do compliment the liquid an extent, they seem to have encountered a degree of flavoring and perfume that my stick was lacking. I could tell it wasn't just straight up tobaccy, but honestly, it seemed like it was "tobacco+". Any flavoring added seemed mostly to enrich the natural tobacconess of it. It had a complex, smooth, wood and leather vibe, and any sweetness seemed more akin to what you'd find in a pecan than from sugar or fruit.

All in all a pretty nice stick. I plan on trying a few more Acids to find my favorite of the brand. I think it'd be worth keeping a couple in the humi for when I'm in the mood for something a little different.

Well, it's Ed Schieffelin Territorial Days here this weekend. Mocking shall reach new heights and lows.

Heading to town soon, taking along a Monte Afrique Kilimanjaro, a Monte Edmundo, a Jose Piedra Cazadores.

A PSP2 will be on hand for a Brad Delp R.I.P. smoke. Brad, you will be missed.

Just be careful with those Acids in the humidor. Keep them in there too long and it'll affect the taste of your other cigars.

Punch Rare Corojo,

Pretty good smoke for the "doin chores" time of day. Flavor was pretty good throughout but the stick got a little mushy toward the last third. Of course the local shop tends to over humidify. I'll keep the next one in my humi to dry it out for a few days LOL.

I smoked a Torano 1916 today while out shovelling snow away from the house. It was a great cigar, nothing subtle or anything, just a good tobacco flavor that kept on untill the end!

had a greycliff crystal taco this morning and a tat havana VI robusto this afternoon...yumm

I just spent a good chunk of the afternoon hanging around at the local shop. I started out with an Edge light torpedo. First one I've had. That was ok, but nothing to write home about. After that it was on to one of my favorites- a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero oscuro double corona. A real rump-kicker, but I love those things.

Matasa 30th Anni Perfecto

Few burn and draw issues but thats to be expected with a perfecto. Other than that it was solid. I can see why these are called the poor mans Opus.
