What Did You Smoke Today

Poor Wolfie

After spending this morning as Sous Chef, and also filleting alligator and wild salmon for the academy's production kitchen (the students that were assigned the task really have no business using knives  ), I couldn't wait to get outside and have a smoke.
But since we also get to eat at the school's restaurant, I decided to start off with that:

First course: Black Truffle Pasta with Smoked Sea Scallops & Gorgonzola Cream
Second course: Grilled Black Angus Filet Mignon with a Cognac Truffle Sauce and Stilton Cheese Potato Gratin
Dessert: Tiramisu
With my discount it only came to 18 bucks!!

After that great meal I fired up a Bolivar Belicosos Finos

aawww man that sounds good, except for the Gorgonzola...I'm not too fond of that stuff.

I'm gonna fly to California and you can cook me dinner, ok axe?

Axe, For $18, you could have bought a piece of dehydrated truffle. I think you made out on that meal!! We should open a restaurant. We can call it Firehouse Bar and Grill. And all the waitresses can dress like Hooter's, except Red shorts with flames....... YUM.

Yum indeed!

I forgot to mention...you're gonna have to share your stash of Anejos with me too.

Do you make tiramisu too? That stuff is forkin' awesome.

Just took a walk down Montgomery street in San Francisco and smoked a Montecristo White (thank you Scott!). It was real smooth - would like to have that with a cup of coffee next time. Took a quick look into the Cigar Bar and Grill - gonna be there for sure tomorrow night.

No problem Kevin. Enjoy yourself, it is still pouring down here, so enjoy it!

Wish I could come to the Cigar Bar and Grill!!!!

I wouldn't want to be responsible for getting you hooked on those fine cigars :neer:
And yes, I learned how to make Tiramisu from my grandmother in Sicily a long time ago.

Kelvin, I'll PM you my cell # so you can let me know when you'll be heading over there. Looking forward to tomorrow evening :)

It looks pretty good there - some nice sights if you know what I mean. That was a real nice smoke, buddy. Nice to be in some sun right now - that rain was getting depressing.

I plan to have an Ashton Maduro tomorrow during a break and then I'll see what they have in the humidor at this place.

Have a good one my man.

I am smoking a Bolivar Fuerte No. 554 right now, a good spicey taste to this rascal, with a touch of pepper?? It is very pleasing to the palate! Very happy with the draw.

I'm in South Carolina now, at Bildo's. We went over to his cigar club and I smoked a Fuente Don Carlos...good stuff. We're getting ready to go eat pretty soon.

My first 5 Vegas Torpedo - good draw, lots of smoke. Nice flavor.

(Plus a Partags 10 and Cigar.com Cuban Label Torpedo)

10/14

Had the pleasure of spending the evening smoking with Kelvin and Calibus at one of the few places in SF where it's still allowed.

First up was an Excalibur Royal Sterling robusto courtesy of Kelvin...Thanks man! I don't remember if it was the Dignitas or the Nobilis, but it was a great medium-bodied smoke.

Next I lit up a Montecristo #2. Tons of island flavor but burned uneven for about 1 1/2 inches no doubt due to the light drizzle.

Lastly, I had an Añejo No. 50 after dinner. I've yet to have a bad experience with this line. Slow-burning with an incredible taste, plus that aroma...mmmmm :D

Edge Lite torpedo. I would have had an 11/18 too but it split at the foot and unraveled before I could even try to correct it. Thing is, the whole cigar came apart into intact leaves when I tried to see if it was too dry or something. Just wasn't meant to be I guess.

After watching the Cowboys sneak out a victory this morning I went down to Fisherman's Wharf for a couple of smokes and relaxation. No matter which day of the week I go, it is always packed solid... :D

I ended up walking down to the Ft. Mason pier which only had a few fishermen busily tending to their lines. Once I picked a nice spot, I lit up a VR Famosos which lasted about 1:15. It had a tight draw but it didn't really effect the burn much. Luckily the wind was at a minimun so I was able to enjoy the aroma.
Speaking of aroma, my next smoke was a LGC Serie R #4 courtesy of Capt, and I sat there for 10 minutes just enjoying the pre-light. If the others are as good as this one I'm gonna have to find some room in my cabinet for more. Thank you Capt!

In all, I had a very relaxing afternoon with good smokes and great views of not only the women jogging or roller blading by  , but also of the massive container ships passing under the Golden Gate Bridge on their way to port.
