What Did You Smoke Today

Ahh yes, the short story! I had that day after thanksgiving while waiting outside the mall as my wife shopped. Great smoke in a little package!

Tuesday night had a great Ramon Allones (not sure on the size, PIF from Rayvn). This comes with a cedar sheath covering almost the whole cigar. It had a very cedary nose and seamed a little soft to the touch. When I lit it, it had a good draw with smooth light smoke. Medium body on the palate with hints of cinnimon and light spice. There was a little cedar but not too much. I was plesantly surprise by this cigar. I though the cedar was going to be overpowering but it wasn't. This cigar actually gave me the least amount of cigar mouth I have ever had from a cigar of this size, maybe any. After enjoying this beauty on a long drive home I was still able to fully appreciate the 2002 Rodney Strong Cab that I had bought for dinner. Great stick for a mild to medium cigar.

I enjoyed a Graycliff Profesionale, gifted to me by the wonderful jhopephulle! I really enjoyed the tase; slightly sweet and toasty, the aroma was FANTASTIC! However, that wrapper was soooooo fragile that it literaly fell apart in my hand. Little sections of ash dropped off constantly. It was in the humi for a week, and it arrived in good order. Are the Graycliffs normally so fragile?

i have a few of them the ones i have smoked are a lil fragile but they are a great smoke. might just be the batch i got. they have been in the humi for a few months. glad you enjoyed it.

last night I had a Padron 6000 maduro, and tonight I have something special planned with a Rare Corojo double corona :D

The other night I had a Gurkha Triple Ligero. It was very flavorful with wood and pepper notes. Great cigar, but it definitely needs to mellow. I'm going to lest these rest for a few months, and see how they taste. Syn, this is one I sent to you. Let me know what you think about it.

I too had a bad experience with my second Brazillia last night...horrible burning issues, and a draw that you could breath through with no problem. Not much flavor. My first Brazillia(gol) was great.

half of my first brazilia wouldnt burn unless it had a flame on it. thats half lengthwise, it was pretty wierd.

My first RP Vintage 1990 was that way. It was aweful.

you have major burn problems anyway, you need to get some pics up so we can see whats going on with that tunneling problem.

His only problem is that he never stops drawing on the stick once he lights it! :D

Thats why churchills last him 7 minutes!

Haha..yeah that churchill went to dust quickly. lol
I take my time with smaller sticks, I dont want them to get hot, plus I find there is more flavor when smoking them slowly with shallow draws.

I think the problem is that with my short shallow draws, im not doing it often enough to get the wrapper going.

theres no way that is the case, you have to be doing somthing really wierd or somthing happens to your sticks to cause the wrapper not to burn. if anything the wrapper should be the first to burn cause its on the surface.

Yeah...the guy at the cigar shop said that tunneling can be a problem with smoking it too fast, so maybe i need to slow down even more. He said he has the same problem when he smokes it fast.

I just polished off a Camacho Coyolar Puro. While I have had a few of these, this was the first time I was able to dedicate some time to it. The burn was kind of bad and I dont like 60 ring cigars, but the flavor was outstanding.

What would it take to get one of those humidors from you guys that the GoF come in? I really like it, and would be interested in buying one of the boxes.

Ashton Maduro No. 4 ???
Gurka G3 maduro....I think I have a new favorite!
