What Did You Smoke Today

I have a Partagas Black Label Piramide qued up for the ride home tonight..... lookin' forward to it!

Well, I just had my first Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2. A fella I know that hangs out at the smoke shop I go to gave me this beautiful stick. Wow, what a nice smoke. It had hints of spice and had a medium to full flavor.

Regarding "Connecticut" wrappers, let's break it down a bit more. The Light Connecticut Shade wrapper, the thin, delicate wrapper with the beautiful tan color is not wasted by manufacturers on strong cigars. It is combined with smooth, hopefully tasty, but still light to medium bodied cigars, usually with sweet flavors.

However, there is at least one other Connecticut grown wrapper in widespread use these days, and that is the dark, thick Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. This wrapper is usually used on stronger, medium to full bodied cigars.

As for those Camacho Coro----, ummmmmm, whatever, Coyote cigars, that's it, that strong Coyote cigar you folks were talking about two or so pages back, . . .

THANKS FOR THE WARNING!!! I'm staying away from that one, unless it's been aged in my own humidors for at least three years.

 :sm_angel:

camacho slr a very good smoke and a indian tabac super fuerte maduro super gordo size. this is a great smoke one of my new favorites very tasty :D

Private Stock #11 (Davidoff seconds).

Man, what a great smoke!

A bit milder than most of the ones I'm used to.

But, construction was great, it was a little hard on the pull (rolled it between my fingers with a little pressure and it opened right up), the taste was smooth, the burn very consistant (didn't have to roll it as I smoked it to keep it even), and it had the hardiest ash I've encountered yet -- held it out the window at 60 MPH to ash it, pulled the stick back in and the ash was still there!

There is one exception. Rocky Patel used the light CT wrapper on the EDGE Lite which is the same as the old edges but with this wrapper. It actually worked very well allowing the muted flavors and aromas through. This is the only cigar I know of where the maker has done this though.

I'm working on a "The Cigar" Perdomo robusto at the moment. They're on sale for $70 for a box of 40 at c.com. I'm really rather enjoying it, and I think they'd age well too. I'd call it a med-full bodied smoke. It's a typical sun-grown wrapper cigar, nothing abnormal, but for $1.75/stick it seems like a good deal. I'm seriously considering getting a box of these. I think I'll sleep on it and hope you all haven't bought all of them by the time I wake up. I need to place another order to get the 5 Vegas sampler I forgot to pick up last time anyway.

Romeo y Juliet Maduro reserve... at first it was ok noting great but after the first half it got alot better with choclate notes WOOO HOOO my pallet is developing

I notice that second half improvment with alot of sticks..even the 5 vegas a's....can anyone answer if this is a result of the stick needing more rest in the humi to better the first half?

Had a RP Vintage 90 torpedo yesterday up at the Fairgrounds in Sussex County - what a beautiful day. My buddy had one too - love those RPs!

Just finished a Monte 4 with a cup (okay, 2 cups) of Sumatra Mandheling - smooth smooth and smooth!

Nice to see zandor smoking The Cigar by Perdomo. I must revisit that some day. They can have burn problems, and must definitely be stored at humidity levels in the low 60's. Tasty, and inexpensive. Thanks for the reminder.

While freezing my butt off I'm, on my front porch with a delicious Partagas that Spider sent me

Alright, I've got some catching up to do since I've been too busy to post.

Since Friday was officially the 1/2 way point of my program I decided to head over to Golden Gate Park for a couple of smokes:

Chateau Fuente Sungrown
PSD4

Only had time for 1 cigar late Saturday night as I was doing a banquet for 2600 guests:
Bolivar Belicosos Finos

Since I woke up about 1 1/2 hours ago, I've only had a Short Story, but I've got a Monte #2 in the humi that's screaming "Smoke Me, Smoke Me!" :D
